  1. For the people who don’t personally remember the era, 1,000 yards was not common the way it is now in the passing age with more games every season. He did that in only 14 games, much like some of the OJ records. And 18.2 YPR is crazy good any time!
  2. I think we’ve all known some guy who could just pick up a sport and be better at it than everyone else. Well, this is that, and then some! I’m not sure when the Magician became part of his moniker, but it seemed very fitting. He was one of my favorites in the day. It felt like he was with us more than 3 seasons because he was so incredibly talented and memorable. RIP.
  3. My sister saw The Beatles and The Stones in the same week in maybe 1964? THAT was quite a week! I remember her and her friends running up and down the road screaming at the top of their lungs. She says she “saw” the Beatles, but you couldn’t “hear” anything but young girls screaming. As for unpopular opinions, The Beatles, at least the early stuff, was wildly overrated. The Stones performances now are also wildly overrated. Back in the 70’s (maybe summer of 1975 at the Ralph?) was the best show I’ve ever seen. The last (and third) time I saw them convinced me there are better ways to spend my time.
  4. Nothing to see here…..that phone was already scheduled for complete destruction. I mean, that’s how I do it, don’t you?
  5. And by “final paperwork”, I assume you mean the whole thing from start to finish. Lordy! What a mess! But yeah, it was over. I really feel for Brown’s fans. I honestly think they provide their fans with far more anguish than the drought. “We suck” is one thing. “We should be good but keep finding ways for our criminal owner to screw it up”…..is something else. .
  6. I don’t think the food is actually included, they just have different/maybe better (?) options. I went as a guest with old friends to some games in Jacksonville (of all places) to find some incredible food! The seats were actually outside, but there was a huge dining area indoors. Unlimited food, wine and beer, cash for liquor (to keep things safe, most likely). This was not just burgers and dogs, I had sautéed sea bass and some nice wine. (Feel free to make fun of me here, just telling the truth! 🤷‍♂️) I’m sure I had a dog and a beer later, When the stadium opened in 1973 our seats were in the club section in the top row against the suites. When they opened the windows in the summer thre AC came out on us, and we got their heat in the winter. If I looked to my right the scoreboard was there and the “Juice Stand” banner was to my left in the far corner. Our four seats went from about the 20-22 yards lines. Those were amazing days and remain amazing memories. Create memories for your kids. Memories > Stuff. .
  7. You know those darn movers….something always gets lost or broken! 🤷‍♂️
  8. For ME, it has absolutely nothing to do with the color of his skin, or the heroes who died defending our country. ZERO. It also has nothing to do with police brutality, which is very real and needs to be addressed. For me personally, it has everything to do with the venue where he protested. He was on the job, and in uniform. He was not representing his employer or team. He was an unauthorized distraction, and he knew it. He has every right to protest, but he had to be ready to face those consequences. I could not have taken a stand like that at work without being shown the door. So, as far as pissing on anyone, speak for yourself, because you do NOT speak for me. EDIT: Oh, and Warren Sapp is an idiot, but it doesn’t mean he’s wrong here. .
  9. No. They were never leaving as long as Ralph owned the team. The only question was how would the new owner feel about it. We’ve were VERY fortunate to have the Pegula’s come along when we needed them.
  10. But……it WAS real, right?
  11. Since you’re driving, it might be (almost) on your way? A lady who works with my wife just went to visit her friend in Buffalo a few weeks ago. She knew more about Buffalo in a few days than I did when i left at 17 for college! I wish I had her itinerary, as they covered it all: City Hall and the viewing floor; Frank Lloyd Wright house; museums; Niagara Falls (do NOT miss the Maid of the Mist); Beef on weck with wings, and much more…….. EDIT: They actually went to Toronto and had a drink at the highest elevated bar in North America (so they said).
  12. There was an Italian place near us in Sarasota. FL that felt bad about making you waiting, so they put FREE WINE outside the door. I almost hated getting a table! The food was awesome, then they moved downtown to a much bigger and expensive location. A great chef has the same business sense as a successful doctor, it seems.
  13. This makes me think of the top 200 in golf. They can all hit the ball. They are ALL incredible, but some are a bit more blessed with talent than others. That weeds out a lot, but I think for the final grouping it comes down to the space between their ears. Rob Johnson (who I admittedly liked at one time) was a SoCal pretty boy who wanted things easy. He was talented, but lacked “IT”. At least that’s how it felt. Josh came from a hard working farm family with a humble attitude. He’s probably my favorite Bill ever very early in his career. Yes, recency bias, but damn!!!
  14. Blackbeards treasure and @HOUSE’s car are annually top three on the list of most valued lost treasure’s.
  15. Nothing personal, but I CRINGE at the THOUGHT of a pinned thread with this crowd playing doctor on the internet. For so many reasons…… You should get to know us better!
  16. I’ve never been to either (hopefully next trip), but I really like that they thought it through and created a small beef on weck. I absolutely MUST get both wings and beef on weck, but I probably couldn’t finish either one on a hungry day. Having a smaller option would make me feel less decadent and wasteful.
  17. Oh, more than you know! Staying at a Ritz in CA while the wife works thru today, then we head to wine country. The “cheap” wine is over $30/glass with tax and tip. $end ca$H! .
  18. The title reminded me of my college days when I often needed help with my bar bill. 🤷‍♂️
  19. That is FAR too many lives lost, and families devastated. I’ve posted this here before, but by the time our kids were 20 they had gone to more funerals than I have my entire life. And it’s not even close. I used to work with a guy who made an interesting point: if you legalize weed at dispensaries you are not exposed to the dealer who is also happy to sell you coke, or benzo’s or the rest of the menu. I could argue either way, but there is some truth to that. I have an old college buddy who is in his 60’s and just retired. Every once in a blue moon, after he’s had a few drinks, he has a guy he calls to get some coke. I’ve begged him not to, but once in a while he slips up. You have no idea what you’re actually getting! If somebody somewhere along the line cut that with just a little bit of fentanyl that little snort could be the last thing you ever do.
  20. You might think it would be easy to fix, but it’s not. We lost our oldest son four years ago when he snorted something that had fentanyl in it. As I said above, it just takes a speck. This isn’t something that just happens to people you don’t know. It’s a serious problem everywhere. Rich, poor, young or old….it’s happening all over. I wish it could be stopped, but the people making that money don’t care if other people die as long as the cash rolls in.
  21. I’m not saying this was fentanyl, but somewhere I have a photo of how much it takes to kill you. It’s little more than a speck. The damage it’s doing to our society, and our families, is horrific.
  22. This makes me curious, but hesitant all at once! WAY too young. RIP.
  23. Let us not forget, even if he settles with the remaining 4, there is no guarantee that #25 and a next wave won’t appear tomorrow, next week or next month. I’m sure she’s out there somewhere. This guy was a serial predator.
  24. I regret clicking now, but I generally avoid those 2 at all costs. I knew better, but I hope to learn and grow from this experience. I can do better, I promise.
  25. Some of these ladies may be more interested in what they perceive as justice and accountability than money. It doesn’t have to be tied to the strength of the cases. EDIT: There were reports that they were close to settling a while back, but some ladies objected to the strict nature of the NDA. It’s not ONLY about money. .
