  1. The Rocky movies are mostly garbage. About 5 good minutes in the beginning, and 10-12 good minutes at the end. It’s like HGTV, show me the house, then come back for the last 3 minutes. We are watching Hustle now with Adam Sandler. Only half way thru, but it feels similar to a Rocky movie, but the middle is not as calorie free. I know….an Adam Sandler movie……Rocky…. 🤷‍♂️
  2. 🙋‍♀️
  3. I was about to post Kevin Bacon, because…..ya’ know….how long could it go? Then I saw Mila Kunis, and remembered I was going to be there too. Kevin Bacon gets the night off, and if Josh or Kyle can’t make it, well, I’ll just horrify Mila by being the only other one there! 😱
  4. I’ll have you know @Gugny broke into my car at the opener. Probably looking for spare change or a pair of sunglasses he could pawn. I realize it’s not OJ level criminal activity (though close to when he stole cookies in prison), but I think we need a thorough vetting before we name our first TBD inductee. On a positive note, partially redeeming him, he was very generous with his food offerings. If I recall correctly, it was a fine chili and “special brownies”. I gave him a fine Yelp review! After further consideration, “let ‘em have it”. Despite his fascination with baseball. My son summed it up well when he turned down All-Stars one year ending his baseball career: “half the people are standing around, and the other half are sitting”. Clearly I’m torn, but I’m also easy. It’s a good thing I was never a teenage girl.
  5. If, by “must”, you mean “could” be a stroke, that would be accurate. It could be a lot of things. I see no point in speculating, much less acting like we know anything for certain. Get well, Kim!
  6. You got lucky. You got a ride! I met a buddy for drinks one day at The Battery where the Braves play. I had used Uber to get there and back at least a dozen times before Covid. It’s 3 miles and about an 8 minutes ride that used to cost $7-$9. I was shocked when the ride there said $19, but I was going for drinks and it was the safe thing to do. For the ride home it quoted me $34 which REALLY pissed me off. To top things off, when I accepted the ridiculous fare, it said “no drivers available”. I kept checking repeatedly, only to get the same response. I’m glad it was only 3 miles, because I had to walk it. I checked it randomly for a few months and no drivers popped up far too often for my comfort. This was all about a year ago. I’ve used Uber since, especially when out of town, and have not had a problem in recent months. I’ve not been stranded again, but that’s always in the back of my mind. EDIT: @Stroke 17 Dress light and don’t forget sunscreen and a hat. Even late September will blister your ass! Florida for the first month of the schedule can be BRUTAL! .
  7. Jessica is still showing as due to play in the first round at Wimbledon today, so let’s hope that’s a good indication that nothing has changed for the worse. If I’m going to speculate, I’d rather do it in a positive and hopeful manner.
  8. Being repeatedly negative across countless topics does not make you a “realist”. Wait….I may have gotten this wrong.
  9. I have just experienced “the type”. Lordy!
  10. Start with Butch Byrd first. He’s one who belonged in first and has waited the longest. I don’t care about any backstory, just do the right thing.
  11. Go clean up your room and get to bed. It’s almost 10:00 PM! What is this country coming to???
  12. You, my child.
  13. Maybe you don’t have enough of a sample size of vomit? You should try working on that first, before acting like an expert.
  14. Is that the rock star look? Make those cougars go crazy….for an older man? 😂 Hair is just not what it used to be. Sadly. I get that.
  15. That sounds personal, and I’ll report you if you tell me!!! (You can PM me if you need help finding a hotline number.)
  16. I have an old tennis buddy in Florida who I used to go to lunch with a lot after tennis. He would explain he was “allergic” to onions when it appeared his entire family just didn’t like them, but he was convinced it was an actual allergy. I smelled BS there. BUT, the big thing was the pickle. He’d say NO PICKLE, and as the server walked away I’d repeat “SERIOUSLY! NO PICKLES!” Nice guy in his 50’s-60’s at the time. Very accomplished and wealthy by family and on his own, but………..if a pickle came out on his plate he would whine like a four year old who missed his nap! “You can’t fix that! It was on the plate! ALL the food is contaminated!!!” It was awkward and VERY painful.
  17. Maybe Bugs touched him….and he liked it. 🤷‍♂️
  18. And I had such hope for you! Please forward your address so I can mail you all the Golden Retriever sheddings we collect daily. OK…….maybe cats aren’t ALL bad compared to Goldens, but that’s the only knock on Goldens. Cats? Don’t get me started. I now understand the reason my mother told us she was allergic to cats until I was about 25. Enjoy your popcorn!!!
  19. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwia_dLf4874AhUTJEQIHWsECZ4QtwJ6BAgEEAI&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DUUQhuwA4Yzg&usg=AOvVaw08lIlbnpsmWIZpicEsKsya OK, somebody can do that better than that, but I found it informative, and very touching. Disturbing, yet encouraging. (EDIT: wrong link, but I’m leaving it in there.) I did not know, for example, that Lou Saban made him the first black QB to start in the AFL when they were together in Denver. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwia_dLf4874AhUTJEQIHWsECZ4QtwJ6BAgDEAI&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DLsYi97F5-xo&usg=AOvVaw0myJGry_TXZDHRYNRRcLuu EDIT: the 2nd one is better, IMO. I think his story should be told here as much as possible. .
  20. I think his beard works a little like Rudolph’s nose. The guy has magical qualities, what can I say?
  21. For the people who don’t personally remember the era, 1,000 yards was not common the way it is now in the passing age with more games every season. He did that in only 14 games, much like some of the OJ records. And 18.2 YPR is crazy good any time!
  22. I think we’ve all known some guy who could just pick up a sport and be better at it than everyone else. Well, this is that, and then some! I’m not sure when the Magician became part of his moniker, but it seemed very fitting. He was one of my favorites in the day. It felt like he was with us more than 3 seasons because he was so incredibly talented and memorable. RIP.
  23. My sister saw The Beatles and The Stones in the same week in maybe 1964? THAT was quite a week! I remember her and her friends running up and down the road screaming at the top of their lungs. She says she “saw” the Beatles, but you couldn’t “hear” anything but young girls screaming. As for unpopular opinions, The Beatles, at least the early stuff, was wildly overrated. The Stones performances now are also wildly overrated. Back in the 70’s (maybe summer of 1975 at the Ralph?) was the best show I’ve ever seen. The last (and third) time I saw them convinced me there are better ways to spend my time.
  24. Nothing to see here…..that phone was already scheduled for complete destruction. I mean, that’s how I do it, don’t you?
  25. And by “final paperwork”, I assume you mean the whole thing from start to finish. Lordy! What a mess! But yeah, it was over. I really feel for Brown’s fans. I honestly think they provide their fans with far more anguish than the drought. “We suck” is one thing. “We should be good but keep finding ways for our criminal owner to screw it up”…..is something else. .
