  1. Let’s look at this from another angle. We should all agree QB is the most important position, and we have that one locked up long term. What are the other premium positions? I’d suggest LT, CB, edge rusher and WR. We have Dawkins locked up. Tre is a star on a relatively fresh deal returning from injury (so we drafted Elam high). We invested heavily in the draft on DE and hope they develop, but since now is our window we signed a guy named Von Miller for immediate impact. We also traded for Diggs and extended him, plus we have Gabe Davis and Knox. Nobody is going to hit on every draft pick or FA. Cherry picking the few things that didn’t go as hoped is a silly way to judge your GM. I like the ROSTER BUILDING starting with key positions they are doing. Identify your key players at key positions and lock them up long term. To say Beane isn’t a very good GM is like saying Josh is just an OK quarterback. It seems the whole world agrees that Beane is building a very good football team with the emphasis on the right positions. The whole world….except a couple posters here who seem to relish in the attention of being “contrarians”. EDIT: Our highest paid players are QB, CB, WR, LT and Edge. The Pats* had two TE’s and a LB as their highest paid players last season. I like our strategy better. .
  2. I used to be a seat snob, then I sat in the upper deck for the first time a few years ago. Surprisingly good sight lines, especially if you aren’t all the way up or in the corners.
  3. My ego is readily available to take a dent……..for $18+ Million!
  4. We have gone from arguing that Beane is not really a very good GM and is just lucky he has Josh, to maybe we are not THE VERY BEST roster in the league. I can live with that!
  5. Does this mean they reached out directly? Or to his agent, I wonder. The cold shoulder seems to indicate directly, but now is a time to get the agent involved and eliminate the emotional part. THAT is why you have an agent. Again, very “Brownsie”. I don’t like how ANY of this has gone down, but if I’m Baker I’m doing whatever it takes to get my $18 Million and change! Play for the boys in the locker room if that’s what it takes.
  6. We were in Chicago for a wedding right before the opener last season. Absolutely lovely downtown and a lot to see an easy walk from the Hyatt Regency downtown on the water. LOVED the architectural boat tour. It was SO MUCH cleaner and nicer than most of Manhattan it was hard to believe! Now, if only they could stop shooting each other. Every big city is dangerous to some extent, but Chicago has a reputation for a reason. .
  7. It seems to be just a very vocal minority who can’t admit the obvious.
  8. I have a buddy who is seriously into his music. He’s got a music studio in his basement with mixing gear, a couple dozen guitars, a grand piano, etc. A couple decades ago my wife became friends with the lead singer for a big time band (I saw not one but TWO of the shirts at the grocery store today). We got into trading dinner parties at each other’s houses since it’s very difficult for them to go out in public. They would invite all these musicians and I had no idea who they were. It was very cool, and often some live music would break out, which was AWESOME! My buddy BEGGED me to get invited into this circle. This is decades ago and just recently he shared the names of some people who would attend these dinners with another music buff. I suppose he got them right, but it meant nothing to me. When he brought it up 20 years later I told him “and THAT is why you could never come!” We were mostly accepted because we didn’t go all crazy over them.
  9. He’s not helping to make his point there, is he? In fact, it seems quite the opposite.
  10. I was at the game IN NASHVILLE last year where Josh slipped at the goal line or we probably win that game. It “proves” nothing. That could have gone either way. Are the Jags a better roster, too, because we lost down there? The Rams are indeed loaded, and they won’t face the gauntlet that is the AFC. Tell yourself what you’d like, the Bills have one of the top rosters in the NFL and to argue otherwise is either delusional or disingenuous. Have a nice night.
  11. I have a sister-in-law who also confuses her opinions with reality. It’s annoying. PROVE to me that Beane would not try to get a Franchise QB if Josh didn’t pan out. PROVE to me that would have been impossible. The Cards took the wrong guy, then fixed it. Could we have landed on Herbert? You can’t prove what might have happened in another reality. I know you just want to make a point, but we just won’t see eye to eye on this because your mind appears set.
  12. 1) You can’t take away Allen without taking away every other teams QB. 2) You can’t do that either, because WE DO HAVE ALLEN! We have no idea what might have been. If Allen was a bust, maybe we have Herbert. Let’s just stick to reality, it makes things so much more simple!
  13. Staying with the big picture, how may rosters in the NFL, top to bottom, would you trade the Bills roster for? That should not be a big number, if any. Vegas seems to agree as we are again considered a top Super Bowl contender. That tells me what I need to know about Beane and the job he’s done.
  14. Apparently, they weren’t imagining that Beane picked Rosen. Tell them to get with the imaginary program!!!
  15. Careful, this guy may have a truck? .
  16. Yeah, but with all the drinking and carrying on, how am I supposed to remember little details like that??? That was a bit different in that there wasn’t a regular tailgate. I went into town, cruised the LOUD honky tonks along Broadway, quickly got tired of the insane noise level and went back to the hotel to have a relatively quiet pre-game with Bills fans at the bar. OK, I’ll try again. I haven’t been to a Bills HOME Monday night game since I was a teenager. Unless I was. 🤷‍♂️
  17. This message sent to you by the Department of Redundancy Department.
  18. It’s deja vu………… all over again!
  19. I bet he’s claiming auto-correct. But sure, let’s just go along with it……
  20. Strangely, I was much happier “having to do something” I enjoyed more than not having to do anything at all. Total freedom is nice, but as a self employed individual I had enough control to suit me. Being good at what you do is rewarding all by itself. And if you love it? WINNER!!!
  21. It’s funny how easy it is to put off things I know I should do. In college I could easily have gone to the Kentucky Derby or the Indy 500. I was always too lazy or had “something better” to do, though I have no idea what I did instead. I have little to no interest in horses or car races, but I should have made time for those events, at least once. I’m trying to do better with making myself do the things that seem easy to skip. Good luck with getting to attend Wimbledon one day. Better yet, I’d love to meet you there! We all need to do our best to check off those important boxes before it’s too late. Make those memories! .
  22. His family makes cartoon balloons in town….must be a good business.
  23. I haven’t been to a Monday Night game since I was in high school. (That was a while ago.) What time do tailgating festivities generally start?
  24. Dave had the best two, I’m sure.
