  1. Love Rafa as well, and him adding one while taking one away from Djokovic would have felt good. Oh well, I can live with wide right, so I can live with this. We love our sports, and sports are just entertainment. I just hope Rafa is 100% and gets the US Open.
  2. I assume you are aware of his well documented history with mental health and addiction issues. I respectfully won’t dismiss that with a with a 10 cent head description. https://www.eurosport.com/tennis/andy-murray-expressed-concern-after-noticing-evidence-of-self-harm-on-nick-kyrgios-body-says-austral_sto9029425/story.shtml He certainly makes me wonder, but I’m proud of him for a great tournament. He has the game to beat Djokovic, he just need that 6 inches between his ears to get in line. .
  3. I’m not sure if he’s “officially” retired, but if not he’s just loitering on the 18th green. He’s my all-time favorite. We used to go to Miami for the Sony/Lipton/Erickson/Miami Open. Just minutes and about 20 feet after watching Serena and family act like complete trash on a practice court (cussing like a sailor at her hitting partner and crushing racquets left and right, all while dad strode around scowling at the crowd - all with the fence lined with 5 year old kids), Roger walked by laughing and smiling with dozens of little kids in tow. He was rubbing their floppy hair and they were all having a great time. I know greatness often comes with an edge, but the contrast that day amazed me. Roger is my #1 all-time. I really like Nadal, and part of that is how he called out Djokovic when he said Federer was no big deal. At the time Roger had a serious lead in Majors, like 12-0 over Djokovic, and Rafa said something to point that out. In order, I think my favorites are Federer, Nadal and Sampras as a close #3. I respect his tennis, but the Joker is not I’m my top 10. He’s the Aaron Rodgers of tennis, a self centered prima donna who has learned to put up a better face, but it’s still not genuine, IMO.
  4. Not so fast, don’t forget Federer, my personal favorite after having run into him at a tournament in Miami. He has 20 Majors, and he’s a great guy by all accounts. What surprises me the most is Serena, arguably the most dominant athlete of all time in any sport, “only” has 23 Majors, one more than Rafa. That doesn’t seem right! It seems she wins every other one!
  5. Terrible shame, as I root for Rafa as hard as I root against Djokovic. I admit the Joker has carried himself better in recent years, but he’s still the same self-centered guy I never loved. As for Kyrgios, I have no idea what his mental state is, so I can’t judge. I don’t know what’s going on with his rantings on the court, or with the reported addiction issues. I wish him well and admit he’s surprisingly engaging and likable in the right situation. I hope he finds his way and can make the most of his God given talent and, more importantly, his life.
  6. Just his mom. Who recognizes Tommy Doyle in a Bills uniform with his name on the back? I might get that one right.
  7. Nor do I, so far. But I know they can afford all the balls they need. I think the most interesting thing about the USFL so far, at least to me, is waiting to see what and how the NFL adopts some of their innovations.
  8. Maybe he forgets the USFL has more than one ball too?
  9. I’ve never seen more than a couple minutes of USFL, but I remembered that being talked about and it made sense to me. I mean, they have the technology, so why not? A lot of guessing taking place with the current system, especially with a typical 3rd and short up the middle inside the scrum. I have no idea where the ball actually is!
  10. Didn’t the USFL just do the same thing? I suspect that is one of the first things they steal from the USFL.
  11. Yeah…..it’s not so awesome NOW, is it??????
  12. I prefer my NFL Franchise QB to NOT have a middle school mentality. Maybe that’s just me? 🤷‍♂️ These guys bust their tails almost every day of the year trying to be the best to beat the best. They never stop competing. I’d prefer Josh win at football now and until he retires in 20 years, and then he can own them on the golf course. Josh is getting more “national” thru this golf/Mahomes stuff. I wonder what’s behind the curtain. Next shoe to drop??? The more he makes in endorsements, the easier he can be negotiating with the Bills. Unlike Rodgers, who wants every nickel from both revenue streams, but cripples his team.
  13. This is made for TV stuff……with some golf involved. They did an entire “segment” with Josh, Mahomes and Kelci. They are just into keeping our interest, since the golf might not do that. Josh and Mahomes have been pretty tight this offseason, and I hope that’s a good thing. At least two high profile televised events so far.
  14. I think it was BEFORE last year that Tom Brady had more playoff wins IN TAMPA than the Cowboys had over the last quarter of a century.
  15. Here’s a nice rule of thumb to keep in mind: Super Bowl MVP’s are given all the love in the world from fans with short memories. Let the football begin!!!
  16. When it comes to fine seafood, he’s down on Owen’s Fish Camp* and is torn between Captain D’s and Long John Silver’s. Edited for the Sarasota poster* .
  17. There are countless ways to do the math and skew the numbers. Jacksonville, for example, is the county seat for Duval county and it is the largest city in the US in terms of land area. The whole county is included in the population. Atlanta can be measured by the incorporated city area, or the 5 county metro area, or the greater Atlanta area because, unlike Jax, we are surrounded by more people than cows. Measuring these markets can be tricky and at times deceiving.
  18. Is it maybe close? Do you have any things in your life you are happy about?
  19. The time to stop reading is when you realize that the two main negative posters here do not comprehend the meaning of the word “elite”. It is NOT singular and does NOT mean guaranteed to be undefeated. Elite teams must play the games against each other. Even the dregs of the league stand a chance on any given Sunday. (Cough, cough…..Jags….) Some people reach to whine in ways that absolutely amaze me. Are we perfect? Of course not. But certainly better than most. Whining in the face of the Bills future says far more about the poster than the Bills. .
  20. Well, there you go! Ruining all the fun and every good story line! Getting all into those pesky details!
  21. A family friend living here in Atlanta (Buckhead, for her) just got a guided tour by a Buffalo native she was visiting in WNY. He had it all planned out and made the most of 4 days seeing what you listed and more. She grew up in Florida, lives in Atlanta and had lived and worked in NYC, DC and across Europe. I’m not saying WNY is all that, but she had reasonable expectations which were definitely exceeded. She saw stuff I’VE never seen, and she was very impressed. I can appreciate the offerings of the GIANT cities, but I’m more comfortable in a medium size town. I’ve actually looked at WNY real estate out of general curiosity, but also wondering if that might ultimately be our “beat the heat” summer/fall location.
  22. Thurman also had the ability to pick up the blitz as well as any RB I can remember.
  23. …or…..….post like experts on message boards!
  24. One could easily argue the Bills and the Chargers have the two best uniforms of all time. The Raiders might round out the top three. This game was during college for me. It was a bit of a down period trying to follow my Bills from out of town. The options today are incredible compared to not all that long ago. I mean, in the early 90’s I would go to Chili’s every Tuesday (I think it was) to have lunch and read the one or two sentences they had for every NFL team in the free USA Today at the bar. Now? I can watch the 1980 Bills/Chargers game on my iPad in my recliner! Life is pretty good. . .
  25. Dropping like flies, it seems. At least he had a full and long life. Working at that age is amazing! RIP
