My Man, Chandler81 RIP (Bobby, not me. Don’t get your hopes up)
Augie replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
Most importantly, you had to be very careful near Mrs Watson’s rose bushes. Those thorns would GET YOU and you just had to make a business decision. -
I went to Canada for beer again, and this time it was FAR different!

I was a Molson guy. First drink my now wife ever bought me was a Molson at a sports bar while watching the Doug Flutie Hail Mary game with BC. I liked Moosehead, and my Canadian friend had very unkind words for Labatt’s that I can’t post here. My favorite, however, were those delicious Old Vienna splits. Heaven in a little bottle! Stayed cold as we paced around the pool table in the basement. Ahhh, what a fabulous misspent youth I had! -
Serious question (that some may think of as stupid): Would you trade Gabe Davis for Metcalf straight up? I’m much higher on Gabe than most, it seems. (Same with Knox, and I hope we can keep both long term.)

Is Mazie the avatar? Bigger would be better. We are all cheerleaders on Team Mazie! You go girl! If you’ve never been a dog person, you may not get how close and personal this is.
-
Rest assured that you have done everything in your power to help her. After that, it’s out of your hands. One of my favorite things about dogs is they never feel sorry for themselves. Certainly better than people in that regard. Hoping you have much better news tomorrow. GO MAZIE!!!

I think the words “already” or possibly “still” could be inserted there. Color me impressed regardless! We would go to Canada for the beer stores, then hit the quarries with the girls from the neighborhood. Special times! I’m telling ya’ that was one hell of a fun “childhood” growing up in WNY. Yes, I moved away, but I have no complaints about my time there. . -
I generally agree with you, except he has some strong completion from The Booger. Also a complete moron, and I’ll never get over his insistence that the crack back block penalty on Cody Ford was legit. You know, the penalty the league later apologized for. As a runner-up, how about Marshall Faulk? Was he the one who said our top need was LT, when the only Pro Bowl player on our team was Jason Peters? Does ESPN not vet these guys at all? Or do they just not care?

Not every important lesson learned in college is related to your GPA! I like that Gabe is working hard, but I pray there are no unintended consequences. Strong is great, as long as he doesn’t lose a half step by getting bigger. .

Mazie is too young for this. Get well! She’s part of the family for sure! EDIT: I’m taking our almost 2 year old Scout for a walk now, because she would like that and we can. The 13 year old Golden will wait here. She picks her moments, and this isn’t one of them. .

I’d like to take a brief moment to thank Yolo for getting his first name correct in the title. This is the kind of fine service to which we have become accustomed. I’d have put the likelihood of getting it right from the rest of this crowd closer to 50%. I’m going with the Great White, if it’s a home game!

Yeah, it seems he has yet to be punished a single game by the league. Zip! Nada! He got paid not to play in the tire fire that is Houston at this point in time. He missed games only because he and the Texans agreed to do it that way. The league punishment is still to come, and I’m afraid it won’t be enough.

Few people are aware that Bill B. Majored in alchemy in college during the Middle Ages. I hope he retires soon as HC, but stays on as GM until the end of time.

Without twitter some things slipped thru the cracks. Yolo is only human! . Gabe Davis is an astute historian! -
This is the legendary work of Bill Belichick, GM. We have a love/hate relationship.

The two main instigators in the pitchfork parade seem to have disappeared. Finally.

I will be sure to make some turf available, for sure. It will come with a very nicely forged Certificate of Authenticity. Framed with a pretty font and everything! It’s not really practical, since you are on the west coast, but otherwise I’d have suggested we go halves on the wrecking ball when they are done. That thing will have touched all the important spots!

Steelers stadium will now be called Acrisure Stadium
Augie replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s catchy for sure, but I think I’ll just call it The Ralph II. I can never keep those top women’s tennis players straight, and this doesn’t help! . -
Fan ideas on how to improve the NFL -- Peter King's latest FMIA column
Augie replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
I know the NFL will do what’s best for the NFL. That is a given. Having said that, I am far more concerned about the 100 million people watching a Super Bowl on TV (the “regular people”) than I am about the host city (who really would not be harmed) or the tens of thousands of people who are fortunate enough to attend. This is mostly a corporate event live, and increasingly attended by the titans of industry. They don’t have to grovel to get an extra day off. I was lucky enough to go to a Super Bowl, and I can tell you it would have made ZERO difference to me had it taken place on a Saturday. ZERO. I just would have adjusted my dates and arrived a day earlier and used Sunday as my travel home day, thereby not missing work the next week. Just come in a day or two earlier. All the same parties would still have taken place, the bars and restaurant filled just a day earlier. I don’t expect this to happen in my lifetime because they have figured out how to make the most money possible, and I don’t see that as ever being anything but priority #1. Still, in so many ways it makes so much sense. -

Yeah, but that’s when the fun begins for the winning city! There is rioting and looting to be done, and of course those couches are not going to burn themselves on the sidewalks! It’s a late night, for sure. -
Per Dan Patrick, 71 of the last 76 Major finals has had at least one of these guys in it. That’s incredible!
