I find it hard to argue he’s not top 10 most desirable, especially considering his age and trajectory. If we had top 10 players across the board and Josh, I like our chances.

That works some with skunk spray, but the Jets are in another league all together. Worth a shot I guess. Nothing to lose but some tomato juice!

We learned early on to couch the news in a certain way, like “everything turned out fine, but you’re not going to believe what your son did at school today”. It heads off that sinking feeling of terror in your gut. “It’s ok, alright, tell me the rest”. But that doesn’t get as many clicks, I guess.

They DID get paid……about $1,200 on any given day. I could have had any number of qualified people at that rate. I don’t see why I should pay some guy $250 above what I already paid him, just to do what he did over the course of a few hours. I thought the tip alone should have covered what he did!

Exactly. There are a LOT of factors, and taxes is just one of them. Bills players don’t have Rodeo Drive or Pacific sunsets, but they seem to appreciates thousands of fans showing up to meet a flight coming in during winter after midnight. There is a very long list of factors players have to measure. First and foremost is money (especially guaranteed money), but then there are a lot of other things to consider. Different players will weight these other factors (weather, taxes, culture, fanbase, chance to win, scheme fit, etc) differently, as they should. I’m not saying WNY isn’t as good as LA. I’m saying WNY has a lot of great stuff to offer and they usually love it after they get a taste. .

How do the taxes compare to the California teams? Unless you’ve paid California taxes, it’s probably not “personal” like it probably is for many in WNY. I think coaching, team talent (we have this guy named Josh players seem to like), scheme, positional depth/competition and of course the almighty dollar come in well behind taxes. The Rams don’t seem to struggle to attract players. Having said that, it IS a factor. .

My nephew’s wife was a bartender at a high end place in Manhattan forever. Expensive drinks! Even she says a dollar is plenty for opening a beer for you. That’s less than 15% in many cases, but she asks “how much is that really worth?” Fair question, and I like her attitude. I usually start a tab and then aim for 20% at the end. Everybody was making plenty of money. In fact, she had discretion to give away up to like $500/shift. Family basically drank free, and everybody was cool with that. NOW, to talk about tipping being out of control - forget semi-fast food joints. Our ELECTRICIAN has the tipping options show up when he comes to the house. (We moved recently, and he practically lived with us for a couple weeks. The first couple times I actually went for it out of habit. I was an idiot! If you hand me a bill for $1,200 worth of electrical work, I think you’ve been paid already, but I admit the first few times I hit 15% or 20%. For an electrician! What’s next???

Different people need to be treated different ways, for sure. But almost (?) 100% of the time it’s best done privately. At least that is my experience.

Do you do a special program or something to get ready for training camp? Like, two-a-days working your twitter and internet digits? Stretching exercises to prevent carpal tunnel? Maybe even carb loading! Seriously, thanks for making this a spot I can came and get pretty much all I need. .

The guy just can’t stay healthy. The Bengals should just cut bait because, after all, they ARE the Bengals! My wife had an emergency appendectomy and the doctor came to me afterward and said “well, next time we’ll know the pain is not coming from her appendix!” Oh YEAH! That is comforting!

The fact that it rolled over is a bit concerning. We are on vacation and I’ve been spending like we won that thing already! I guess I’ll have to wait…… -

This feels like pandering. Are you still the first loser in popularity? You may have a future in politics! -
As they say, if you think you might have 2 QB’s, you probably don’t have any.

Florida is where old people go when they are done. This does not shock me in the least. I think Brady has to finally start playing his age soon. Please???
-
I’ll be honest, I’m glad there’s currently no room for him in the AFCE. This could be good timing for us.
-
It’s insane how much money you can make as the guy that nobody really wants!!!
-
I’ll give you $50 to find out! Bail money, fines and court costs are on you, however, so I hope it’s not more than $50 total. .
-
Ahhhh…..the tradition continues! I’m always a mix of “unrealistic expectations” and pure fear that the next tweet will be about something…..nobody wants to hear about any player on any team.
-
I’ll give you credit for playing one day, then eating the wings the next day. The reverse order could be……… problematic, if you know what I mean.

Just look at how the ST coach was never publicly singled out after the debacles we saw (end) last season. He quietly went about finding another job down in Jax. Some people were screaming for “accountability”, a chance to break out the torches and pitchforks. McD just quietly moved forward like a professional. I don’t know what they’ll do with Edmunds long term, but I like their judgement more than I like “our” judgement.

Josh makes him look so…….tiny. I’m sure it would startle the %$#% out of me if someone came up behind me and started autographing MY neck!
-
He’s making the big OT bucks now! Woohoo!

Car crash? I was going to say this is the time of year I cross my fingers and hold my breath. A car crash I did not see coming. Hope it’s minor!

Yep, they were determined to have that role filled, even after we were jilted by the Commander (that still sounds stupid to me!). It was clearly a priority for what they are trying to build.
