  1. Yes. That is unpopular! I kid, mostly. I really like the energy and camaraderie especially early in the season. The Bills Backers bar(s) in Atlanta are much like the video of Harp in Boston. Hundreds of people singing, dancing and high-fiving to the Shout song. It’s a VERY cool experience! But……Most games I like in the comfort of my own home where everything is at my fingertips and I’m in control. My house has the added advantage that I don’t have to drive or Uber home.
  2. One thing we know for sure: People will complain about him, his scheme and his play calling. Anyone want to bet that won’t happen?
  3. I honestly don’t know how I would handle that. Can you imagine swapping Josh for that creepy dirt bag? I just don’t know if I could endure that. I have a friend who is a Browns fan and he’s struggling. He’s trying to justify things, but he’s struggling to remain a fan of the franchise.
  4. RIP It seems like legends are going down fast. I guess I’m just of the age to consider them my legends. Enjoy life fully as long as you can!
  5. PICs or it didn’t happen.
  6. I doubt I could get that svelte (even Whole Foods!), but I hope that catches on…..at least for all the guys in Seattle.
  7. But, as Bills fans……we have no reason to wear them as hats!
  8. But….doesn’t that mean the sky is falling? How are we ever going to extend him and keep us under the cap? This is horrible news!
  9. Have you been to the beach lately? I don’t think it’s gotten any better. Just keep walking, listen to the waves and look at the water. In case you think I’m being “judgey”, I’m sure you’d prefer that I keep my shirt on covering my pasty white soft body.
  10. Was it Chris Rock who says “we’re only as loyal as our options”? These guys have a LOT of options! I suspect she has far fewer. .
  11. DeShaun Watson thinks that’s weird and creepy!!!
  12. It might be included above as I skipped ahead, but I heard language today that says, basically, it doesn’t matter if it was said in jest. You can’t use “joking around about it” as a defense. As it should be, especially from the top guy. You’d still have to prove what you allege, but that excuse has been removed from the table. Again, as it should be.
  13. In Cobb County where we live outside Atlanta the school board portion of your taxes go away when you turn 62. I’m all for funding education, but they just get more money from you younger, I guess. They make it work, and we will save about $5k on our taxes this year. The schools are about 2/3 of your overall tax bill. 😱
  14. There are 3 main reasons I hate winter. First, it’s cold. You may have known that already. Second, and maybe more important, is the gray skies. I hate the gloomy skies, and Atlanta gets a lot of that in the winter. Last, it just lasts FAR too long. It sounds like Colorado Springs is an improvement in at least two of those categories.
  15. It is…………less enjoyable. All my friends in Florida.
  16. Out of all of my family and friends growing up, only one person that I know of as a friend (not some high school classmate) lives in WNY right now. (And even he moved to Boston for 15 years.) You are heartier than myself, I like early fall, but then I’ll come back for a week or two during the Holidays. To each their own, and I hope we all get what we want the most in retirement!
  17. A periodic cool weather trip during the summer is the reverse for us. Every time we go back to Hilton Head Island, SC (met wife there, kids born there, etc.)I look at condos for sale that we could use and rent when empty. I just know I’d feel like I had to go there for every vacation rather than experiencing new places. I’m retired, the wife is not yet. Her work and our family nearby determine everything…..for a few more years, at least. I’ve got a plan and can’t wait to put it in place.
  18. I’ve honestly recently looked at options around where I grew up in WNY. My hope is to get back to Florida but have a place to avoid summer heat. If the NC mountains prove to be too expensive, plan B might come into play. Like @ExiledInIllinois it would be a secondary home, but with great summer and fall weather and a special brand of people.
  19. Is he a MLB….or a safety replacement down the road? Either way, I just hope he’s a terrific football player!
  20. Visited decades ago when my sister-in-law worked at UVA while her then husband was in medical school. BEAUTIFUL area and nice college town. Loved the campus and downtown. Had a little picnic on top of a hill with a very nice view. I’d love to get back some time before we make our final decision. There is a lot to like!
  21. Probably true. Probably. However, now that a price has been set, there is no ruling out some additional women coming forward for their checks. It’s not Ray Rice in a single event, and even that they got wrong when the video came out. How did they set a punishment before knowing of the video? Wouldn’t that be one of the first things they would go looking for? I would not be shocked if someone else came forward, because I’m pretty certain these were NOT the only cases of this behavior.
  22. Now, what happens if another dozen or so pop up next week, or next month? THAT, to me, is why this is so tricky. The Browns and the NFL get dragged thru the mud again not knowing if/when it’s finally over.
  23. Yeah, not a good choice of words in my opinion. I was just pointing out that I had no idea there was a Dee Haslam until I read that statement. NOW is the time they chose to trot her out.
  24. Interesting, but not surprising, that they made a point of including Dee Haslam on that. I’d never heard of her before, but you want support from the female on this one.
