  1. Vegas has the Bills and Buc’s tied for the best record with an over/under of 11.5 wins. I rounded up to 12 wins, because I don’t want to get too cocky. Remember when predicting 12 wins meant you were probably day drinking? Now it feels “conservative”. I LOVE THIS TEAM!
  2. He’s got plenty of money, and a life he enjoys. We’ve spent a lot of time in Nashville and it’s a nice place to be. Sometimes it really is NOT about the money, as shocking as that may sound. I wish him and his family well. We will find our punter (and holder ) and be just fine.
  3. I was responding to someone who seemed to think Plan B was a real consideration. IMO, that was never even an option. The Bills didn’t know about it when they drafted him, then they did the best job possible to extract themselves from the situation. The Rams are next. .
  4. It’s flipping amazing! Over 100 “camps” with common areas and amphitheaters here and there. They have outdoor dining like Hogwarts with seating for 400 for breakfast. I’m not kidding. We had a terrific speaker before lunch, a fabulous sit down lunch for 40 at our little “camp” (with wine from my wife’s co-workers winery), then the big amphitheater for a show with 3 of the 4 main voices from a huge production (Phantom of the Opera?). We had to leave as the show amphitheater was filling up. Former Presidents and Kissinger belonged, along with guys like Jimmy Buffett. They have improv comedy between tech talks and Broadway music. 🤷‍♂️ Quirky does not begin to describe it. .
  5. I think it’s fair to say it’s a house that could sorely use some serious staging. Some houses are like that.
  6. No telling what they grow in the back 40!
  7. Have either you or @Chef Jim been to Bohemian Grove? That was quite a trip! My wife’s coworker waited 14 years to get in, and we happened to be there for one of the few times a year women are allowed in. It’s like summer camp for gazillionaires and artists and musicians! Thousands of acres with over 100 “camps” (often with outbuildings for live bands and commercial kitchens - we had a sit down lunch for 40) deep in the redwoods. No phones and certainly no photos or your host gets in trouble. I was a 60’s hippie for a day. It was awesome! EDIT: My bad, meant to tag Chef Jim and @Draconator. Opps!
  8. I always assumed it was a bird on a berry diet. The bird union seems to have a bounty out on my head. Literally. My wife finds it hysterical.
  9. We finished our trip years ago in Calistoga. Lovely! Home of Joe Montana I believe. We did the hot mud bath thing. Lordy! You get mud in every nook and cranny of your body! Once was enough. I still remember my last meal of that trip. We had been eating and drinking our way around that part of the state for an extended trip. We would often fill up on wine and amazing breads before the meal came out (I’m not generally a big bread guy, but WOW!). It was hysterical seeing couples come in 20- 30 minutes behind us and do the same thing! This was decades ago and I still remember those Kansas City style ribs being placed in front of me on the last night….and I wanted to throw up. I might have had one bite. Time to go home! Did you ever go to Healdsburg? It’s nicer now than Calistoga or Sonoma were then. By far. Nothing is cheap out there, but the hotel on the square might have been the most expensive nights we’ve ever personally paid for in a hotel room. Well worth it! I’d go back tomorrow.
  10. We stayed at the Ritz at Half Moon Bay while the wife worked, then a couple more days there. When we got to Healdsburg I was wishing we had moved up sooner! It was super charming and it seemed every other door on the square was a great restaurant or tasting room. Did a wine tasting at Lambert Bridge winery just a few minutes outside of town. Had a couple cases sent home. Cheers!
  11. It’s so close now, I think I can smell it! But it might be the dogs….hard to be sure.
  12. Carmel is one of the most beautiful places on earth. We were out to wine country a couple months ago and spent time in Healdsburg at the recommendation of locals (wife’s co-workers). Another fabulous spot! Highly recommend it!
  13. Same as always. DTV Sunday Ticket unless they are a prime time game, which will be A LOT this year.
  14. What do you think looks worse: A) Finding out you made a mistake by not being aware of an incident a prospect was possibly involved with in college, learning of your mistake then letting the player go because you want no part of that type of person on your team, or…… B) Paying hush money in an attempt to coverup a brutal gang rape. I’d say option B not only looks worse, it IS worse. Only an idiot would even consider that path to “protect their brand”.
  15. But it comes fully immunized, so there’s that.
  16. Thanks for that. That is our vet speaking out as the voice of the locker room. He could not have done much better there. We needed to hear from the locker room, we’ve done that, now let’s move on. I know, everybody will be asked, but I just wish they could respond “See what Mitch said”. In a strange kind of way, this may help bring them even closer as a team. Go thru rough times and you just have to get tougher, I promise.
  17. …not to mention, I don’t want to see us all of a sudden get thin at RB when somebody pulls a hammy or has a high ankle sprain. Every game counts for home field in the playoffs (it hurts to sound so cocky!), but I can see a scenario where it might look appealing. They have said they want to build for long term success. If they think they have the depth at RB, I’m sure they listen to offers.
  18. I’m sure it took some restraint to walk out…..rather than RUNNING. This mess may be coming to a close (albeit slowly) for Bills fans, but it is just getting started elsewhere.
  19. I look at the Sarasota market a few times a month (using the Michael Saunders website, which is better than most) and I’m confident you’ll do just fine when you decide to sell. My goal is to get back there at least part time in the next few years. Too expensive to buy there now! I lived there longer than I lived in WNY, as I left for college when I was 17 and rarely got back until I started returning for Bills home games in the last decade or so. We’d like a break from the heat in the summer, and if we can’t afford the NC mountains I’d certainly be open to considering WNY. Next trip back I’m going to spend a little more time in Hamburg as I just had a quick lunch there. Maybe it was that my formative years were there, but it had a wholesome “Mayberry RFD” feeling to it. I usually stay at the Hampton Inn on Main St in Williamsville when I get back. There is a similar feeling for me there. So much to consider! Good luck! Now you have ME going to look up there. 😂
  20. By cutting these guys, I will find myself saying “who dat???” far less often!
  21. This isn’t WNY specific, but as a former Realtor I will say most sites like Zillow are woefully behind in updating information. I would get calls regarding properties that went off the market months earlier. It is easy to use and handy for getting a general feel for what the market is like in different areas, but it’s unlikely to find you a specific property. Realtor.com seems to be more up to date, but the very best source of info is indeed MLS. I am so sorry for you loss, @cwater10. I cannot imagine finding myself alone, day after day. Sounds like a reasonable thought to get closer to family and friends if you can. I’ve been gone far too long to be helpful to you, but I loved growing up in Williamsville and East Amherst. I live in Atlanta now and it seems you can get anywhere in the general Buffalo area without much trouble. Yes, all things are relative. On a recent trip back I went to Hamburg where we lived when I was younger. I must say, there is a very cute little downtown and a lot of nice and seemingly reasonable housing. I have a friend trying to move to the St Pete/Clearwater area now from Atlanta. It’s is super hot and he’s having a hard time, which should translate to a good time for you to sell (assuming you are not renting, obviously). One might argue that the timing to buy in WNY would also be bad, but we lived in Sarasota for almost 20 years and I learned otherwise. The peaks and valleys are much more extreme in Florida, as I discovered the hard way when I worked in real estate and everything came to a screaming halt in the 1st quarter of 2006. Again, I’m sorry for your loss and will pray for things to work out as well as possible for you.
  22. But, if we said “please”?
  23. They should keep their day jobs.
  24. My son and wife have a labradoodle they got together. She had a cat when they met. The dog abuses the cat that I’ve seen only 2-3 times since they got the dog 4 years ago. The cat is now peeing all over their new furniture and bed, and they are expecting their first child in October. I know where a cat is available!!! (Dog guy here, I admit.) EDIT: New home for the cat is in the works. .
