  1. Gee, hard to tell. Who is the Jacksonville of this year? Let’s pray we beat the Titans on Monday night.
  2. We actually spent our summers in some little cabin a few blocks from the park/beach. A little bakery with cinnamon rolls about half way there on the right. Crazy good memories.
  3. When our son had a broken ankle a family friend/distant relative explained it like this: On a scale of 1-10, a bad bone bruise is a 5, and a break is a 6. Pretty much the same thing. He is a retired pediatric radiologist. He knows his stuff. I know rib injuries are wicked! Sneezing, coughing, sleeping are tough. NFL football is almost unimaginable. I’ve known people with broken ribs. Ain’t no fun!
  4. To be fair, when things go as planned, nobody notices. You just expect and accept it. It’s usually when there is a problem that people go out of their way to complain, rightly or wrongly. It’s not really like restaurant reviews that people do on a regular basis.
  5. I’m pretty sure I’ve used them multiple times. I wouldn’t worry. They too…..…have a process.
  6. Do you think the league might want to ban him, or something? This is getting ridiculous!!!
  7. It’s almost like Fitzy was the backup or something……
  8. I refuse to give that a click. I’m not even sure if I want the Cliff Notes. I believe 4 teams didn’t know (including the Bills until well after the draft), and 2 had an idea that something was up, but not sure what. I don’t see this as a negative reflection on the team at all. When it came out, he was gone. It’s a shame that……….well, the whole damn thing is just a terrible shame for all concerned.
  9. Tyrod suggests he be VERY careful regarding who is allowed to administer shots to numb the pain.
  10. We were visiting a buddy in Cincinnati once, and he had about 20 tickets that belonged to a guy he worked with. He had a deal where we would pay face value - maybe $70 each for four nice seats, then scalp the rest and split whatever he could get for them. This is about 20 years ago, and it was the Bungals. I think the most we could get for the remaining tickets was like $2. I felt pretty stupid, but we laugh about it now. The same buddy has his own Bengals seasons now. Three seats at about $150 each. He sold the opener tickets for double that and had a fine time watching the game at Wings and Rings. The opener is always full of hope and excitement! Later in the season, the hope is gone for many, and the weather has turned. I had planned to join him for the Cincinnati game as my road game this year, then the schedule came out. I’m not sure if I want to sit outside in the cold on January 2 for a Monday night game. Call me anything you want, it’s a real consideration for me. And it’s not just the tickets! I was looking at my preferred hotel for the home opener with rooms around $250/night. I got sidetracked and came back a few days later to see the same room was more like $450/night. And why on earth is a round trip flight to Buffalo $700-800??? [EDIT: cheapest flight now $809. Almost glad I just can’t make it for other reasons. Almost.] THIS IS THE PRICE OF BEING GOOD (literally), AND I”M FINE WITH THAT!
  11. A poncho gets you a kiss on the cheek. She suffered enough. .
  12. I’d stick one on the practice squad.
  13. I mentioned this in another thread, but a trip to Target might be a good idea. A few years back I got a text from @Seasons1992 (a local) before a Bills game on a VERY rainy Sunday in Cincinnati. With his weather warning, I went to Target and in the camping section they have ponchos in packages smaller than a deck of cards. I bought every red, white or blue one they had for like $1.48 each. We tailgated under an overpass, so that was dry. But when it was time to march over to the game the ponchos became a popular item. Groups would send over their cutest female to beg for a handful. 😂 If you don’t have good rain gear, this is a fairly simple solution that worked fairly well. It’s CERTAINLY better than nothing! .
  14. Yeah, but Tommy Doyle fully participated today. What more can we ask for???
  15. He is my all-time favorite. A real class act. We followed him around at the tournament in Miami for a while. He had a flock of little kids following him around and they were all laughing while he messed up their floppy hair. He’s got a little Josh in him, he’s impossible not to like. It’s amazing that Federer, Nadal and Djokovic all have 20-22 Major titles. Serena Williams is as dominant as I’ve ever seen in tennis, and she “only” has 23 Majors. Good luck to any guy outside the Big Three trying to steal a Major. These guys have owned the tour for a LONG time!
  16. I don’t think that is why…….
  17. Very hard to tell……🤷‍♂️
  18. Worth noting here, before a rainy game in Cincinnati I went early in the morning to a Target. In the camping section they have ponchos that fold up smaller than a deck of cards. I bought every blue or red poncho they had, making me quite popular at the tailgate. They were only about $1.50 each and if you don’t need it, no big deal. If you do need it? Big deal!
  19. May God bless, and may you sleep soundly thru every night. 😂 Our “Good Son” was a freshman when we got the call. He got caught buying beer with a fake ID he got for $25. His friend Frank was from our hometown, but a different school. I had never met him, but he bailed out our son. Frank was in the wedding and we see him from time to time. He will forever be know as Bail Out Frank.
  20. I’m on to you mister! I think you know exactly where your wallet is, and you are NOT really a doctor! No opinions on the drug addled existence. Who am I to judge?
  21. We’ve got some of our best minds on it. Dammit! A first world problem I hope we have forever!!!
  22. When our son was in high school I found a can of florescent orange spray paint in his car. I was afraid to ask, but a parent has to do such things. I think it’s a rule. He explained that he went out with a friend from the football team and they were going cow tipping. When they saw how peaceful the cows were, they didn’t have the heart to “tip them”, so they decided to “decorate them”. That’s a strange thing to be proud of, but I’m glad they had a heart. Some farmer may disagree. 🤷‍♂️
  23. After a round of March Madness in Orlando, followed by hours of bar time, I needed a late ride to my hotel in what turned out to be a sketchy area. It was really late, and drivers were few. The guy who picked me up said “I was going home for the night, but I saw you were a 5.0 rider. That’s rare, so I decided on one more ride.” Translation? I think I may tip too much but I’m sure by now some drivers have seen thru that and may rating has dropped. Tip well, and as the New Orleans cab signs say “don’t puke, pee or poop in the car”. There is a fine for that. They have those signs for a reason.
  24. IDK (anything, really), but did he know something about one of the guys in that room? It was oddly specific. This could be seen as trying to help after the (sad) fact. I don’t recall if I ever saw the exact wording. It could mean different things I suppose? I’m not making a case for either side. This is too complicated with too many unknowns for me to have an opinion. All I know is it’s horribly sad and has seriously damaged a lot of lives, including those of family members of those directly involved. Can you imagine your child being involved in any way?
  25. Don’t worry, he likes ranch with his wings. What more need I say?
