Micah Hyde seeking 2nd opinion on neck injury
Augie replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Those two guys don’t make much noise. I can deal with them. -
Do you have a problem with fans standing the entire game?
Augie replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
No, they can be very hard to come by! I have been known to move a couple sections over (for the worse) to get something close to the aisle. I also tend to be a bit claustrophobic and I think that may be part of it, on top of the convenience. We all have our own quirks. Some are just quirkier than others. -

Well, your big feet stepped on countless feet coming and going! I kid, I kid. When you gotta go, you gotta go. I wish the secondary market made if easier to tell which seats were on or near the aisle. I would pay a premium for that. I don’t mind stepping out of the aisle to let people pass. I absolutely HATE being in the middle and….”excuse me, excuse me, sorry about this…..” -

In no way are you “probably more of the problem than the solution”. It’s an unfortunate condition. I’m sorry to hear that. Life happens to all of us, and we should try to be understanding. -

Are you in the club seats, as I recall??? Is that why? If I’m annoyed by something, I look for a way around it. Where do they not annoy me would be the question. In the Club section or in my family room would be the answer, I guess. -

Let me guess, you couldn’t afford to make this a poll? It’s never affected me one way or another at a Bills game. In other venues (hoops, concerts, etc.), I’ve been irritated but never at a Bills game. -
Marv is more of a gentle nibbler. I think he went to the Aaron Rodgers Psychedelic School of Becoming a Better Lover.

Whatever you do, don’t trust the on-line info blindly. Call to verify it’s not old news on the internet. That has bitten me on the arse a couple times.

In the past they thought they could, and now they KNOW THEY CAN. At least, that’s what it feels like to me. -

I suppose if you are looking for a bright side, maybe a stinker of a game will get people to stop talking about this Bills team like the ‘72 Dolphins and the ‘85 Bears had a baby! -
Will we have those soon?

It’s the same on the west coast, often having clear skies at the beach, only having to look east toward I-75 to see the thunderstorms cooling them off. In Sarasota the weather report for a solid 6 months is a low of 75 and a high of 90 +/- 2-3 degrees, and a 40% chance of rain.

I have not been to a game in Miami, but have attended quite a few in Jax and Tampa. I generally like the heat, first of all. I routinely played tennis (singles) in FL around the noon to 2PM window because nobody else was stupid enough to play at that hour and courts were always available. But sitting and roasting in a stadium can be absolutely BRUTAL early in the season. One game in Jax we were the only people left in our entire row. Everybody had gone inside by the concession stands for the shade and AC. We eventually joined them. The Bills were rotating their OLinemen that day due to the heat. Our DIL grew up in Sarasota and had Buc’s season tix. Early in the season the routine was to see the opening kickoff, then go into the club section and watch on TV until after halftime when shade finally found their seats. I often turned down free tickets early in the year. I know it might sound wimpy, but that heat can really kick your tail, especially if you opt for beer over water. I hope for everyone’s sake it just moderately oppressive. A cloud can be your best friend on a day like that!

I think I fit that description. Born and raised Catholic, briefly an altar boy, Christian Bothers for high school, Jesuits for college. Raised the kids going to church every Sunday. The wife still goes to church, but not every Sunday. I went to 10:30 am for a while when we moved to Atlanta, but when she changed to 7:15am I was OUT! It was mostly just a chance to be with my wife for a morning. Many of our friends in Florida were made by way of Catholic schools for the boys or church. I was never into the “church part”, but we had great priests who became close friends. We even rented a house from one for a year! I put up with Mass because they made a point of building a community. We would meet monthly on a Friday night at the beach for a cookout and sunset. Dinners on a regular basis. We went on cruises and to Europe with these people. We were friends, and a couple of great priests made this possible. We were always there for each other when things got tough, and they sure did get tough. THAT is more important than anything that happens on Sunday morning. I can’t get past the coverup of all the abuse. It was widespread and systematic. I can’t blame our friends for this, and in fact I feel bad for the good people. They are tarnished by this by association, and that’s not fair either. The major religions mostly tout all the same stuff, then put their own twist on it. They are all right, and they are all wrong, IMO. As for televangelists, I think they should be forced to study St Francis of Assisi. Doing good is helping others. THAT is how I believe we will be judged when that time comes. Gaining followers should be about building community and helping those in need. Not buying that $17.5 million dollar house I toured that was purchased by a televangelist pleading for money from little old ladies who are just trying to make/buy their way into heaven. Sorry, that was long, but it’s a complicated and sensitive topic.

This guy paid $17.5 mil for a “nice place”. A single family resort on almost 20 acres on the water complete with resort pool/spa, hobby house (bigger than the average US home), massage rooms, a clay tennis court with a commercial kitchen and banquet hall, etc. I bet some people who had their home blown away by a hurricane would like a few nights there.

I can’t go quite that far as I try to be careful with sweeping statements, but…….. During my real estate days one of our agents had a listing for $25 Million. The seller (celebrity) had over $40 Mil into it, but he just wanted out for greener pastures. He ended up getting $17+ Mil. The buyer, I am told, was a televangelist. This is where I may get close to the line, so I’ll let that hang out there for a while…...

I don’t know…..one minute you’re walking into the Rockpile, then…….aliens are taking you and the cocoons on a ride. -
I knew a guy in college who went out drinking at one of our standard bars. A couple of our friends lived a few blocks away. He was “wise” enough to know he shouldn’t drive home that night, so he walked to our friends. Except it wasn’t our friends. It was NEAR our friends, but it wasn’t our friends. He woke up on the sofa in the morning with an old lady and her grown son looking down on him. Yep, that’s bad, but it could be worse. He peed about a half of a pony keg all over their sofa!!!

It’s not retiring at halftime, but it’s memorable, for sure!

Does anybody miss the days before all these crappy threads got started? Does anybody miss getting bullied in middle school? Didn’t think so. Same kind of idea. .

I had to stop watching that replay. It was making me ill. I did not see that he was moving as much as he was post-hit, which might have given me some relief. That was absolutely gruesome looking. It puts the game in perspective.

And THIS is the reason we play the games! Who saw that coming? You never know! I wonder how the Dolphins are looking? This seems like an awful lot after two games, but I’d rather be healthy for the stretch run than coming out of the gates.
