Happy Six Years to Coach McDermott - Moment of Appreciation
Augie replied to BillsGuyOutWest's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was actually just looking at real estate in Nashville. It would be a nice place to be semi-retired. We used to have a condo there and spent a lot of time there (when our grandson was young), almost all of it away from the honky-tonks. Good for him. Great place to see the Bills fans take over, too!!! -
Rex had his Buffalo going in the wrong direction. That’s all we needed to know! . I did NOT think the “old guy” could run under that one!

While I generally agree with this, too many positions get filled before the Super Bowl takes place. You don’t want a reputation of holding your staff back when they have opportunities. If you’re on a good team you will never get first crack at the best jobs. I think the only solution may be to make EVERYBODY wait until after the season to start hiring or officially interviewing. You WANT your coaches getting poached because that’s a sign of success. Interviewing Dorsey, or any coach, before their season ends is a distraction I don’t like at all. On the plus side, assuming he ever grows into HC material, the interview experience is one he can learn from.

Mega Millions this Friday - $1,400,000,000

You should go ahead and quit today if your gut tells you to feel that good about it. . I’d much prefer one of those things over the other. . I bet you found that in @HOUSE’s couch! He’s a sneaky one! I may even get a ticket this time, not that it matters much. It doesn’t really change my odds. I’m not terrible at math, but I believe in the power of prayer! . -

I had to look him up to see where he was these days! He’s an assistant defensive coach with the Titans, and I was surprised to see the Bills had one more sack in one fewer game that the Titans. Pressure was his calling card, so that kind of surprised me. He was the opposite of what we have now which feels bland and can be frustrating, but it works. P.S. - I don’t blame him for not wanting to work for Rex. That’s a sign of intelligence right there! Time to start over, don’t you think??? -
Question about the origins of The Bills Maffia

The Buffalo Football Fans is kinda catchy. -
Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?
Augie replied to NeverOutNick's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well said! But he’s still younger than…oh never mind. Wait, what is this about again? . -

I am generally not in love with giving up draft picks to get very expensive players, especially older ones. There can be exceptions (Von would be handy to have right now, if healthy), of course, but we need more young, “cheap” labor to have the cap space to keep the guys we need to extend. Careful, we are going to ask YOU to chip in! -
Our “rendering” looked like a Josh Allen hand drawn work of art compared to THIS!
-
That sounds like good coaching to me.

I think the Chiefs deserve a week of hard labor. I suggest looking for your wallet. Only if they find it do they get a bye! No trips to Cancun for you, KC!

Cannabis consumption on track to overtake alcohol

A buddies son did the synthetic in high school and the kid he was with had to be taken to the hospital. Not good AT ALL. That wasn’t the only case like that. It was “a thing” for a while. -
I think the same is true for WR’s. If you are the best (normal size) athlete in school, you’re almost certainly at one of these two positions, and probably playing some DB as well. Most likely the captain of the basketball team, too. We were repeatedly told our son had to play baseball year round in Florida. “He’ll fall behind!” Nope! They all wanted him back every season, and he benefitted from a playing a bunch of other sports which made him more balanced and better at everything. Soccer is great for feet, especially big guys, but that’s another story.

Yep, these guys have been in camps and 7 on 7’s since middle school. They’ve thrown thousands of passes and studied hours of film….before high school often! They will just keep getting better and better, but there will still be a wide range. The QB used to be the big statue with an arm. Now it’s often the most athletic kid in school, shared with WR. It used to be the RB was your stud. No more. My, how times have changed!

How is Skip Bayless employed as a sport analyst??
Augie replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah, that “kid” is going to be something, alright. This is a little too much like a typical ESPN show for me. Ignorant people all talking at the same time is a bad formula, and I think Skip is one of the worst out there (along with Booger). Shannon is no treat either. I’ll put his show on and mute it until Cowherd comes on. Some don’t like Cowherd (I generally do) but putting him on after Bayless makes him look like a superstar. -
I don’t mind the dollar figures as much as I hate all the guaranteed money. It’s the most important position in sports. You can’t afford to pay guys who are not producing. What incentive does DeShaun Watson have to be his best. Is that just up to his high moral character? No thanks. Where is the punchable face thread when you need it? Has Haslam been mentioned???

Imagine how fun it will be if we starting clicking again for the playoffs. We all know Super Bowls are won when you peak at the right time.

Shouldn’t we just fire everyone and clean house properly? Like McD, I think Dorsey needs some time to grow into the job. People get upset with Frazier because of our frustrating style of keeping things in front of us, but it works. Regardless, he’s just running McD’s system. .

NFL Week #18 - Patriots* @ Bills - 1st half game thread
Augie replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Doesn’t matter if toe touched, because he didn’t have control of the ball until AFTER the right toe came up. Ball was loose at the high point.
