I was thinking the same thing! Especially the coat!!! 😋

I’m surprised my neighbors haven’t called the constables on me! Maybe their hearing aides need new batteries?
-
I hope he’s better for next season!!!

….on the way to 27 to nothing. Jags are trying to stick with what works for them!!!

Thank you! I was shocked at how long it took for The Big Chill to come up. Best ever, IMO. Great years of my life and I lived near (and often worked in) Beaufort, SC where it was filmed, so I may have been influenced? Would the Last Waltz count? Has that been mentioned? .

This won’t be overly popular, but one team will lose this game. The loser is still a very good team, but their fans will have a meltdown. There are 8 teams left, but in my mind 4 serious contenders - Bills, Chiefs, Bengals and 49ers. I’d rather be on the 49ers side of that draw. Only one team leaves the season happy. It’s VERY HARD to win a Super Bowl. I hope and pray this is our year, and I also shudder to think of the reaction among the fans whose team is done for this season. One week at a time! Enjoy the ride, that’s what it’s all about. Just one more week. Every week. Because it’s more entertainment.

I was going to mention him being good for two TD’s, with at least one on the ground. I like that ability to score from anywhere.

No, it completely depends on the size of the company. You don’t pay the COO of Mary’s Flower Shop the same as the COO of Delta Airlines. One might make $30k, the other $30 Mil (much of it in restricted stock options). I just find it irritating when people act like they are experts in something they clearly know nothing about. In the bank scenario I happen to know the exact numbers. You can’t make sweeping generalizations based upon position title. Both CEO and Vice Chairman report directly to the Board. All credit functions report directly to the CEO, while branch operations and technology report to the Vice Chairman, and it’s working just fine. .
-
Wow! I just almost gave you credit for a good idea. I’m glad I read it again. I doubt you are a CEO of a $300 million dollar bank. Adding a COO between the CEO and the “Vive Chairman” adds about another $300k/year with an extra layer of Managment. That is the OPPOSITE of the way companies are reacting right now.

You are in love with your tushy? This is a family place! If only you and your tush could afford a room…….

A close buddy just joined a healthy bank that was just failing to grow. Institutional investors wanted a return on their investment, so they brought him in as CEO. The former CEO was named Vice Chairman, because nobody really knew what that meant, whether it be a step up or down. No egos were damaged. He will run day to day stuff, while my buddy focuses strictly on growth. He likes the ability to focus on adding lenders and growing the bank. Investors wanted to can the old guy, as this scenario comes with an extra big salary, but it gets you where you want to go. Let the growth guy focus on growth, not daily stuff. Titles mean nothing. In my banking days they’d rather give you more title, while holding onto THEIR MONEY!

You’re as cheap as @HOUSE! I say we go ALL IN!!! Be honest, we have folks here who do similar stuff. I won’t judge any “group” by their goofballs. I didn’t click, but I’m just happy they have enough actual fans to have a little message board. 😋

I went to school in Cincinnati. I can accept cinnamon in chili before I can accept heathens having ranch with wings. Having said that, I don’t think of it as chili. (Although Zips is a great place with decent chili, not a chain deal.)

RIP. I saw them once with friends as a teen at the Aud. Great show, and worth every penny. These guys I was with had a habit of sneaking into concerts, and this is one where I joined them. Very memorable.

Bills/Chiefs Atlanta - Official ROLLCALL thread
Augie replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Go figure. If, and it’s a BIG IF, this comes to be, I’ll be out of town for our granddaughter’s baptism. Seriously? What are the odds of that? Obviously the baptism was scheduled a long time ago, and I’m sure my son (also living in Atlanta) is kicking himself for the bad luck. London, however……. 🤔 -
That’s my point, you can negotiate a little safety net. And nobody likes to get fired. So was it fired or resigned?
-
That could be a serious shock to our hearts!!!
-
Probably, and it could also be a “mutually agreed upon” and also negotiated parting of the ways.
-
It probably pays better than the Maytag repairman!
-
Careful, I just may take you up on that! 😂

It would certainly be nice to know the dates, but that will come in time. At least people can plan vacation time and save accordingly if they are truly interested. I don’t love it, but I can live with it, especially if we make it a family adventure. I’m the only one in my family who has never been to London. That should be corrected and it was already on the short list of travel options we have created for the upcoming year.
-
While I hate teams being forced to give up home games, and I’m not a fan of the travel, if it gets me to London I’ll have no complaints!!! 😋

When I was first married to my Lebanese wife her very ill father had been in chemo for years. I won’t name all the ethnic food, but when he put Texas Pete on kibbeh I saw it as fair game! My wife gave me a very brief “that’s only because he can’t taste anything” look. I gave her the “I’d like to taste something” look. We’ll be married 38 years next month.

Interestingly, I was just talking with some friends this afternoon about the unexpected French origin of Chicago. I think awareness is actually rising! 😂
