  1. Other than this place, almost zero. BUT, the people making noise on either side are just the $%^&*( of each side.
  2. You were correct, it was a long read, but it was a very good read. Well written and good insight into what life is like …..”after”. Thanks for the link.
  3. I’m sure most of us, the vast majority of us, are more in the middle.
  4. You might have to call it something else to get insurance to cover you. 😋
  5. Everybody knows that!!! Do you have a sign or anything? Maybe you could put some effort into this? Just a little bit? Have some pride!
  6. You present that as a fact, when in fact it’s an opinion. Just your opinion.
  7. Thank you for reinforcing the thread title! 😋 Being a Super Bowl favorite again next year may mean the world is not ending. Every team has issues, including the winner tomorrow.
  8. First, life does not come with guarantees. And second, if that is what you need to go to your grave happy, then I’ll pray for you. As I just pointed out, what happened decades ago does NOT matter. We have new owners, and a different level of professionalism. A better chance. But still just a chance. Doesn’t EVERY fan base think they deserve more? MORE what? Can we ALL have more? There is only so much “more” to go around, and they all want it.
  9. I apologize for deleting what you had above but I wanted this to stand out for a reason. I get the years of disappointment as hard as any. I was there for the hardest of times. Early in my marriage in the mid 80’s my young bride asked “WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO YOURSELF?” 😂 But it’s not decades ago. We have new owners (for whom I pray), a new front office, a real HC and a commitment and expectation of winning football. I’m from the early days of Bills football, but these are new days. As Beane has said numerous times, they want to build for consistent winning football. I think they have a shot as good as almost any.
  10. I believe “critical dialogue” is being used loosely. THAT may be where we differ. It’s a spectrum, for better, or for worse.
  11. It only takes the toll we allow it to take. Enjoy the ride. Soak in the great plays, the nice wins. There are far more wins than losses these days. And we have a team of “Good Ass Guys!” 😂 (JJ Watt reference there.) Only one team walks away happy. That’s more than a cliche, that’s the truth. What then? I can live with being a top 5 team and having a shot every year. One year, it will be our turn. Do I get two weeks notice?
  12. Too much extremism can be a bad thing. I’m sure of that.
  13. I think I remember seeing you there!!! You were short? With hair? People are getting mad like somebody stole something from them. I want to address our obvious shortcomings, improve, and advance further in the playoffs. But I also appreciate a team that can be expected to win 12 or more games on a regular basis.
  14. Well, that was a lovely diversion. I didn’t really expect…….oh, never mind. Maybe @mead107 would like to inspect the Doc’s handiwork?
  15. Please, tell us more about your vasectomy! 😋 I’d rather read about that than another “proposed trade” that will never happen, or who we should have drafted two years ago in the third round now that some poster got to see “the other guy” make a riveting Pro Bowl appearance. Oh, and don’t get me started on the “fire everybody” crowd. Good luck with the cough. Try turning your head, it may help. Doctors seem to think so.
  16. There are many, many different possible sources of revenue, of which real estate taxes is just one. We lived in Florida for many years where the design was to tax tourists and part time residents as much as possible to relieve the burden on full time residents. They do that with gas taxes, sales tax, bed tax on hotels and short term rentals, etc. They also reduce the impact of real estate taxes by allowing you to homestead the residence of “full time” residents (6 months and a day minimum) so your property taxes can only go up 2-3% annually so you don’t get taxed out of your home. A little quick math tells me a moderate priced player ($3 mil/year) will pay about $180k in GA state taxes. The property taxes on a multimillion dollar house will be just a very small fraction of that.
  17. Stef was on Dan Patrick this morning. He says he will never apologize for being passionate. I can live with that. The man wants to win, just go about it the right way. Oh, and who cares what some goof has out there on Twitter. He’s not an owner or GM….so whatever…..
  18. I’m sorry, I left you out of the go fund me part of this. We won’t make that mistake again! With @HOUSE it’s all an act. He’s really a very wealthy Nigerian Prince.
  19. I’ve never met her, but would it be rude of me to second that comment? 😋 Congrats, @Draconator, quite the accomplishment! EDIT: Wait! Will this be followed by a go fund me thread? This is right up @Gugny’s alley! Between him and @HOUSE you should have it all covered. Wishing her all the best!
  20. Maybe this should be in the Hall thread, as well? Things can seem odd when we don’t have enough info. This may be one of those cases? Maybe they were not pleased with how he brought along the younger guys, before they brought back the old guys. I’m not saying that is the case, but it’s a plausible explanation. Maybe the writing was on the wall already, and we just didn’t see it. .
  21. Also to be fair, they did try to keep him I believe, but were devastated by DB injuries and ran out of call-ups for Hodgins. I could be wrong there, but it seems they did not WANT to expose him to waivers, they were just left with few other options. Life in the NFL, especially with teams with above average talent. BUT, to the thread title, I’m happy for both of them. We knew we’d miss Daboll, but it seems a bit more difficult than many expected. Very happy for Hodgins to get a shot as well. .
  22. What we do NOT know is how many they wanted back. The ST coach was allowed to find his own gig (again in Jax) without the mess of firing him. I thought that was a classy way to handle that. I suspect Hall may be a great guy and well liked in the WR room, but as has been pointed out, he wasn’t doing much with what he had to work with. (I know, we need to add more talent regardless of who the coach is.) He could have been a great guy who we wanted to move on from for an upgrade. We have no way of knowing, and I won’t pretend to know. I think we should be hoping they go the weak replacement option. That will just make things more entertaining around here. 😋 .
  23. Well, especially that one. That stuff just goes on my “manual ignore” list, for the most part. I’ve asked, but not gotten any answer, regarding the team he actually roots for. Best to just keep moving rather than feed him, I think.
  24. Do you realize that just makes you look silly. It depends on whose math you decide to listen to. I say I can’t possibly know for sure, but somehow you can.
  25. And here I was trying to come up with an environmentally friendly way to get rid of the stench! No complaints, the better you do, the better I do!
