  1. So, is that a maybe??? Cool!!!
  2. Later got out on bail.
  3. And nobody should question or judge you for that decision. I’m not where I want to be, but I understand why I am here. It makes the most sense for my family. .
  4. To be accurate, we all criticized you, but we kept it kinda quiet. 😋 I have no hard feelings if he moves on. These are decisions we make in life. We do what is best for us and our families. The red white and blue is not only uniform he’s played in, it’s just the most recent. I have no hard feelings if he goes to Miami. It didn’t change the way I felt about Thurman. Is it bad if I hope the Dolphins seriously overpay, and he’s not as available as they had hoped? EDIT: Pretend it’s not football, and YOUR team. What if this is an accountant or a nurse? Do you complain then? .
  5. Sounds like this might be a personal favorite? 🤷‍♂️
  6. This is also why you have an agent and somebody knowledgeable doing your taxes. Imagine being a MLB, NHL or NBA player and sorting all that out. What implications, if any, do international games have?
  7. How many versions did they run? I remember (I think?) seeing the morning paper available in the Aud leaving Braves games. I always thought that was odd. I think they ran more than once? I enjoyed a local morning paper back in the day, with a manageable crossword puzzle. Sadly, it seems they are just one more dinosaur from the pre-digital age. We have a new granddaughter, and I can’t imagine what she will see.
  8. Damn! When I recently turned 62 in my county in Georgia we no longer had to pay the school board part of property taxes. Our bill dropped by 2/3, and I’m not apologizing for it.
  9. Forgive me, for I’m not really familiar with all this. Did I read you have to work as some type of “public servant” (that is a terrible term IMO, so please let me know if something else is more palatable) for a period of years? If that is the case, hell ya! You earned that!
  10. I’m not arguing or trying to make a point, but both 2nd round picks were later traded for a 5th. I found that interesting, and Zay had 82 catches last year which I found surprising. What happened in the Zay Jones saga can stay a mystery as far as I’m concerned, but I hope the young man is doing well in all regards.
  11. I was a kid, maybe 5th grade. We had season tickets at the Rockpile under the (leaky) roof. It was a rainy day, so my dad had his friends with end-zone seats swap tickets, and there I was with my friend Andy in the end zone. On a rainy day. When they still allowed umbrellas in the seats ahead of you. The game against the Chiefs was almost impossible to see, but you knew when they kicked a FG or an extra point, because this was before the nets caught the balls. A free-for-all would ensue every time. The 2 sober 10 year olds had no hopes of getting a ball. Ever. We just hoped to survive! Then it was over, and we stopped at the restroom on the way out. Leaving the restroom a GIANT MAN (to a 10 year old) stole Andy’s souvenir program from under his arms. Just ripped it away with a “what are YOU going to do” look about him. And you know what? I smiled as I typed all that. That’s a very fond memory. 🤷‍♂️
  12. One of the other dads at our kid’s school went into serious debt to get thru law school. By the time we got to be friends he was instead doing woodworking in his garage. And very happy about it. How is a kid supposed to know? You just hope you find the right fit for you one day.
  13. I’m thinking @House should be a person of interest.
  14. I was at a luncheon a while back and the speaker was from the economic development commission. He talked about trying to attract new businesses to the area, and the obstacles they faced. He said the companies they were trying to attract didn’t need more young people with college degrees, they needed welders and plumbers. You can make a fine living if you have mastered a trade.
  15. Oooh, where to start? We had dinner a while back with a very smart guy. He had been the President of Ford Europe and after “retiring” became the Dean of the business school at a major university. He compared education to manufacturing cars. You don’t shut the plants down all summer, or close for 3 weeks at the holidays. There is absolutely no reason it should take 4 years (or more, for many) to get a college degree. As for the cost, our son’s MBA from Emory University was about $85k. He’s got a very good job, but they just had their first child and the wife will be out of the workplace for a while. He’d be paying on that loan forever if we had not stepped in to help them out. Why was it so expensive? It was during Covid, so it was almost 100% virtual (fortunately, saving countless hours of travel). It was a wise investment of time and money, but there is no excuse for it costing so much. John Grisham actually wrote a book about a law school that existed for the purpose of generating student loans. It wasn’t about education, it was about generating profits. There is something very wrong about that.
  16. I’m VERY happy for you and your family. Oh, and you’re welcome. 😋 That is a LOT of Ca$h every month. Especially since it often comes around the time many people are starting to have kids. Somehow, we get by. 🤷‍♂️ EDIT: We have always said there are two things we would pay for, for ourselves and our kids. The first is education, and the second is housing. We let our son get a loan for his private school MBA, but then we paid it off when he finished. They just had their first child, the wife is out of the work force for a while, they are lucky. The best part is they know it. .
  17. Strange as this may sound, especially for the WNY crowd, I think I directed the creation of the first wings in South Carolina. I was at Land’s End Tavern, Hilton Head, SC in the early 80’s. NOBODY had heard of a chicken wing, and I was all over the state. I knew the pub owner, we went up to a mini-market (now long gone) and got the wings and fixings. He was shocked at how simple and good they were.
  18. Tell the truth, you talked the National Guard into looking for your wallet, didn’t you?
  19. He owes us nothing. I appreciate all his efforts, and I hope and pray he is well. It would be great if he found his way back at some point, but I want him to be happy and healthy first and foremost. This place can wear on people, that’s for sure. Since I’m not on Twitter, I appreciate somebody who sifts thru the nonsense and shows me what I might be interested in.
  20. He’s like Sammy, but in a round world where producing actually matters.
  21. So, cap jail is kind of like Otis in Mayberry? You can just grab the key and let yourself out?
  22. There was quite a bit of celebration early which you probably missed. 😋 Things calmed down later. Welcome back. Almost bedtime……..
  23. Thank you for once again exposing me to those nightmares. Does my therapist owe you money??? 😂
