In the past 12 years the Big East has won 5 National Championships (UConn with 3 and Villanova with 2). The other winners were UNC, Duke, Baylor, Louisville, UVA, Kansas and Kentucky, each with just one win. Pretty awesome showing for the BE.

As @muppy is well aware. The big night is here…..eventually. Late start wouldn’t bother me as I’m retired, but I have to be ready for a furniture delivery at 8am. Bad timing! Hoping first for a good game, then if UConn can win it’s the best of everything.

It really is amazing! UConn looked like world beaters early, then slumped. The most important thing in college basketball is peaking in March! Full disclosure: I’m a Big East guy and happy to have 3 teams in the Sweet 16 (with SEC the only other conference to do so). My ears perked up as Sir Charles was asking how they had 8 losses this year. The BE is a gauntlet, and my Xavier team gave them 25% of their losses. Good luck to both teams (and @muppy) tomorrow night. I pray for another instant classic. For some reason I am doubly amped for March Madness this year, and they have delivered!

We also used to say the old people live in Sarasota, and their parents live in Venice. 😋 Yep, tons of WNY folks down that way. I hope to be one again some day. It’s stupid expensive now, but things seem to be cooling based on some places I follow. Higher rates, make cash king again! I need a buyers market in the next few years. I only saw Tampa for soccer fields, football fields and gyms, or the occasional hockey game or concert. I never got to see the nicer places to live. My son hopes to get closer to Sarasota down the road, but it looks like he might have to be close to Tampa to get the type of job he’s after. Oh! And I like Busch Gardens more than anything in Orlando. .

I am grateful to some of the people here who have informed opinions and share them. This is learning season for me. It’s hard for me to tell much based on highlights because, well, they are just highlights. Guys can also look good, but I don’t really know what the best scheme fits are. I see OT ranked in different ways, and I have no idea who would be the best fit, if we even go that way.

Calling yourself a “realist” doesn’t mean you aren’t just whining. There are many who can really see both sides of the argument, the good and the bad, and that’s great. Some other people lean WAY too hard toward any negative they can find, like they are the smart ones who know the truth. Nope.

I stand by my campaign pledge of a minimum prison sentence of 30 days for allowing ranch dip to touch a chicken wing. It’s just a misdemeanor, but you will have a record and wear a scarlet “R”.

We are mostly from Buffalo, and we have standards. ONLY blue cheese is acceptable with wings. Ranch is deviant behavior with wings, but is acceptable in other applications. I happen to like Ranch with homemade chips at some restaurants, but I would never be a heathen and consider it appropriate to be anywhere near a chicken wing.

Glad they are getting some juice around town! Good luck! I’m hoping for two more great games tonight. With my Xavier out, I’d lean towards a Big East win with UCONN, but great games are my first priority. Another way to look at it is at least one of them is guaranteed to make it. There’s the glass half full view. I think it’s awesome!

They called to invite my son to play All Stars after the rec league season ended (he also played up a year in AAU). I told them I’d ask him. My son replied “Do I have to? Half the guys are standing around, and the other half are sitting.” From the mouths of babes….. He went on to play sports where people actually moved and things happened.
