  1. I grew up with a table in the basement, and have one now. I was better than most, but if I tried to go left handed today I might be up past my bedtime trying to finish a single rack. I’m afraid to even TRY! One of our friends growing up was forced to switch hands in middle school. He was one of the better athletes in our neighborhood, but he had nerve damage to his right hand resulting in partial use. (Horrible story about his brother returning from Vietnam, not being right and a kitchen knife.) Before too long he was beating people in tennis left handed. Most people know a guy like that….he’s just better than the average bear, and it’s quite clear to everyone.
  2. I think proof of funds should be required for you to post in this thread. Sorry, nothing personal. I hope we don’t invest too heavily in this draft, which by all accounts is weak. IF we move around, I wouldn’t hate taking some picks in next years draft. I don’t think the GM and coach of a Super Bowl favorite are in the hot seat the way some fans here seem to think they are. Invest wisely and build something sustainable.
  3. Shouldn’t we report this to someone? I mean, that’s kinda messed up!
  4. So, for example, Hammer's Lot suddenly allowing dizzy bat might fly under the radar?
  5. Hysterical! I was flying home to Sarasota, FL one time and the girl in the window seat was a college kid. She was going to see her grandma for spring break and hit the beaches. The airport is very close to the shore, and we got a view almost like that. Not as swarming at all, but clear enough to see all the little dark dots moving around close to shore. “Hmm, what do you think those are?”, I asked. 😋 She audibly gasped! She then made a Mr Bill Face, and shortly thereafter she started breathing again. I doubt she went in deeper than her ankles on that trip!
  6. I’ve got to believe that is very good for the plumbers out there.
  7. The Patriots run is one of the greatest oddities in NFL history. It took a lot of things aligning for that to happen. That is why it is talked about. Using that as a comparison ALMOST borders on being disingenuous, but I don’t think that was your intent at all. It was just an anomaly. We shouldn’t argue “he’s no Bo Jackson” either. Who is? Will the Chiefs be the next dynasty? I doubt it. They have Mahomes, so that’s not a bad place to start, but Andy Reid is 65 and the Pats* were a 2 decade run. That’s unlikely to be seen again in the salary cap era IMO. The injuries we suffered last year, especially on the defensive side of the ball, felt like the worst luck possible. It almost became funny at some point. Luck and injuries are two different but related things.
  8. It’s good that you never really thought about it. It just might make you crazy! 😂 It’s actually very cool that people along the way let you do it the way that was natural for you. My son’s school seems to have “corrected him” into being a rightie. His son doesn’t seem to have much of a preference, and I think that’s awesome. My left arm is there mostly to make me look symmetrical. BTW - has part of you thought of running for President?
  9. PLUS, the county will get all THEIR money back from DUI fines! Win/win! And it will feed the lawyers! What’s to hate here? . .
  10. Paying attention, huh? 😋 Since the statute of limitations has long since past, that was the other sister.
  11. Oh no, this is all JUST for the renderings. The stadium will be extra! Are they responsible for ALL cost overruns, or just after construction begins. I don’t know the details, but I’m pretty sure the overruns will be significant coin.
  12. Do home movies count? 😋 I’m not a fan of things that make me uncomfortable. I still remember my sister (8 years older) taking me to see The Exorcist on Easter Sunday the year it came out. It left a mark that lasted a while, I assure you.
  13. The bold is my greatest fear - too high and too steep. I don’t think I’ll know until I get inside. I saw a fan video from one of the newer stadiums (I think it was SoFi) that gave me vertigo just watching on my iPad! I’ve been in stadiums where it felt like I was climbing to Manchu Picchu. We went to an NBA game in Orlando one time with the family. My father refused to eat or drink because he was afraid to need the bathroom because he could only make that climb to our seats once. I get that it keeps you closer to the field, but there is a trade-off there. Too steep or high can be a problem. Time will tell.
  14. Our grandson just turned 9 and he seems to be ambidextrous in most aspects of life, except for sports. Is it possible to be “neither handed”? I kid, I kid! (Mostly.) He’s young, healthy and having fun. What else counts? As for lefties, it’s always nice to have someone to stick at the other end of the dining table so everyone can eat without getting in each other’s way.
  15. The people who are complaining must be Employee of the Month every month, and their kids are class valedictorians. 😋 I get it, the playoffs have been disappointing for us, just like for every team but one. It happens to be the Chiefs this year. I takes great play and peaking at the right time, plus a fair amount of luck to finish on top. It hasn’t been our turn yet, but I like where we stand and I’m looking forward to next season with high hopes.
  16. You and Rex are tied so far. Let’s face it, this is his season.
  17. I also doubt he ever sees the $45 Mil. Posturing already for the negotiation, Aaron Rodgers style.
  18. What do we get if you’re wrong? 🤷‍♂️
  19. I’ll give you until the demise of the next stadium tp be right on that one. 😋
  20. I never lived in Snyder, but just pulled that name after visiting my 95 year old mom today. She grew up there. Beyond that, I’ve never seen anyone sway anyone else’s mind in a public funding of sports arenas discussion, so I’ll bow out.
  21. The question is, what does this actually cost the average guy living in Snyder? Or anywhere else. Is this a financial burden difficult to survive? Or is it a few pennies a month? Serious question: what does this cost the average person?
  22. We live in Atlanta, my wife works out of NYC and we spent time in downtown Chicago about 18 months ago. Chicago was BY FAR best option of those 3 major US cities. It was so clean and safe feeling even I was impressed. Just don’t go to the wrong areas. My wife changed hotels in NYC so she never has to go outside. The hotel is attached to the offices. She doesn’t feel safe outside anymore. That’s horribly sad, but I think most major cities have declined in that regard the last few years.
  23. Who decides “our way”? Do you speak for all? I suppose the best response is that we/you elect people to make decisions, then you have to let them go to work. You don’t have a referendum every time they build new schools, or close libraries. That also affects taxpayers. This is just one decision in the big picture. Yes, a bigger than average decision, but just one small line on the bigger budget. I don’t live there or pay those taxes, admittedly. But I never blinked or asked how much having the Atlanta Braves new stadium in my county was going to cost. It was a non-issue here. The financial aspect was not a factor, but then everyone got something they generally love. If they hated it, I think they would have complained about all kinds of related things like cost, lack of transparency, traffic, design, etc. Get it right? Everybody is happy and all is forgotten. There is no way to satisfy everyone in the Bills stadium situation, so people will find things to complain about. .
  24. So……if you can’t have it YOUR way, shut it down. I’m afraid you don’t have the clout. These decisions are being made by people with clout, and we are not on that list. In Atlanta they moved the Braves stadium from a very sketchy area to an area (The Battery) about 3 miles from my house. It’s surrounded by a terrific development with restaurants, bars, apartments, hotels and theaters on 65 acres. The funny part was there was ZERO public discussion until it was announced. I don’t know how it was funded and I’m not saying this is related to the Bills situation, but it’s just crazy how these things can work out behind the scenes with no public input. I absolutely LOVE the result in this case, to be honest. But decisions like that could also be awful, so I question the process more than the result.
  25. I have always said as long as the Bills remain in WNY I’ll be content. I’m good. Having said that, my first preference was a downtown stadium strictly for selfish reasons. I fly into town for games, usually by myself. Taking one person in a rental car or finding a ride to the stadium is less than ideal. To be able to walk from the downtown hotel to the stadium, as I’ve done in other cities, is awesome! I’m sure I’m not alone in that feeling. BUT, that will NOT be the case so I’m not wasting any mental energy on the topic. If anybody is obsessed with not getting exactly what they wanted, I suggest they look up the Serenity Prayer. It ain’t happening, so let it go.
