That is the best word I could find to describe Kincaid as well. I like an athlete out there with body control who can box out, track the ball and twist and turn to catch it. Yes, I crave some more speed to scare the defense, but two years in a row they have gone with fluid pass catchers with solid hands with their first pick. That ain’t nothin’. I have no need for an Al Davis track star who can’t play the sport, but one more legit guy who scares the D deep would be awesome.

NFL Ref John Parry joins NFL team (Update: It’s the Bills!)
Augie replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
It won’t cost you anything, I promise. I like trying something new in an attempt to get better. I can’t see how it could hurt, so why not? -
I don’t know IF they would do it, and I don’t know WHO they would target, but it would make me feel MUCH BETTER about our team and even our draft.

If we add a surcharge of say $25 per post, do you think we could scrape up a dome?
-
That sounds almost personal. Good luck to him!
-
He may be small, but he’s slow! 😋 I like him from what little I’ve seen. He’s not going to run away from anyone in the NFL like those long college runs, but I think he can be effective. I can’t wait to see!!!

I saw one set of highlights I really liked of Davis. They showed the long runs, of course. But what I really liked was they showed him to be effective in the passing game, including a bunch of plays where he was very active and willing in protection. There was a lot to love about Thurman back in the day, but him picking up a blitz was a thing of pure beauty.

Was the NBA considered bigger than the NFL in the 90s?
Augie replied to BillsPride12's topic in Off the Wall
I think you’re reading what some NBA fans had to say. Yes, the NBA was more popular then than now, IMO, but there was still a large gap in popularity with the NFL on top. I’d be curious to see how the TV ratings compare, but among my crowd it was NFL all the way. BTW - I loved the NBA when the Braves were in town, enjoyed it in the 90’s, and I don’t even watch the Finals now. We took the kids to too many regular season games and had children say “they’re not even trying!” When they start talking NBA on TV or radio, I change the station. EDIT: I’d be very curious to see how NFL ratings compare to college football over the years. That is the NFL’s real competition for attention. Growing up I just used to hear scores like LeHigh vs Slippery Rock, plus an occasional Notre Dame game. I’ve lived in the South for decades now, and in Atlanta the Falcons are an after-thought. It seems everybody has a college football team they follow closely, and once in a while I’ll see somebody wearing Falcons gear. How much has the gap changed vs how much has my location exaggerated things in my mind? 🤷♂️ . -
Come on now, that is very different from McD “doesn’t know about offense.” That’s quite a stretch, but I’m not at all surprised. And I’d still like to see the exact quote in context.

Steep steps has probably been my biggest concern from the beginning. I’ve been to some places that were crazy steep up top, and it can be a real bother. I can’t freak out about until I know how much of a factor it is. No point in me making up worries that may not exist.

As to the bold, do you have a quote or a link or something? .

It’s nice to know for sure who decides the truth. It must be a heavy burden.

Question or topic of the day - a new idea for the board
Augie replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
You tell @BuffaloBill what day of the week you want, then think of clever ideas to entertain us. Make me laugh, funny man! 😂 You try new ideas all the time. There is nothing to lose here, so why not? . -
That certainly would not shock me. I know some people have reservations about Keon being able to separate adequately, but I think he will concentrate and work hard on route running. I like his potential, and I love the value in the rest of the draft. I’m usually optimistic, but I really am eager to see some of these later guys and how they perform.

Just a few days ago I watched a replay where Jim Marshall recovered the fumble and raced all the way to the end zone. You may be aware of how that turned out. And for you youngsters, always be sure you run to the correct end zone. Details matter. .

Chiefs Bills Playoff Replay / Bass Kicking
Augie replied to Rich Stadium Original's topic in The Stadium Wall
Has there ever been a coach who was not questioned…….about something? It goes with the territory. If it works you’re a hero, if it fails you are an idiot. I stay toward the middle (as I think you know), so nothing is ever too far away from my position forcing me to freak out. I prefer life that way for the most part. -
Chiefs Bills Playoff Replay / Bass Kicking
Augie replied to Rich Stadium Original's topic in The Stadium Wall
Once again, we don’t have all the information, so I’m not sure what the HC has faith in. I can’t judge the kicker or the HC based upon mere speculation. Was he dinged up? Did he develop the yips? I don’t know what the problem was. I just hope Bass comes back 100% healthy and returns to his old form. -
Question or topic of the day - a new idea for the board
Augie replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Don’t get TOO excited. Eventually we will know if we did enough to address the WR position, and then we’ll have absolutely nothing to bitc…..talk about. . -
It’s crazy how funny life can be. Imagine Travis stays healthy, they finish strong and make the playoffs. Maybe even win a game or two. Coleman might be looked at very differently by the average fan. I don’t think professional scouts would be swayed by that (much), but it’s human nature. I liked when Beane said he was happy about the slow 40 time, because it might help him fall to us. .

Draft Analysis - We're All Debi from Depew
Augie replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yet mistakes are part of life, and why your malpractice is so outrageous. If Beane misses on a draft pick, nobody generally dies. However, if you are picking a RT for the Dolphins, a miss could be fatal. -
Draft Analysis - We're All Debi from Depew

Agreed on the bold, until the crusading starts. Sometimes it would be nice if a good point is made, but then you aren’t clubbed over the head with it repeatedly by the same posters in countless redundant threads. But maybe that’s just me. My wife is the brains of the operation, but I’m smart enough to know that. -
Agreed. If it’s all about an extra draft pick, the team is locked into the playoff spot and the player isn’t getting abused, sign me up. We’d just have a chat.
-
I think it depends upon the player, their value to the team and if any financial incentives are affected. I’d feel badly if a guy needed a few more snaps to get a $500k bonus, but I’m just fine if it’s for the sake of the team in the long run. I like draft picks. A lot! That’s how you get the cheap young guys so you can afford to pay what you must for your stars at premium positions and still field a competitive team. Maybe I’m naive, but I think it could be a very real consideration under the right circumstances.

There is a money back guarantee, but it’s limited to what you invested to be here. Don’t get cute, we check receipts. 😋 I’m sure somebody checked with Elam before giving #24 to Bishop, right?

But with that 80” wingspan, he can play like a 6’4” guy. Someone mentioned earlier Dwight Freeney thought it was an advantage not being a taller guy. It seemed to work out for him. Now is the time for me to be optimistic and trust the FO. I know they won’t all pan out, and very few will be superstars, but I liked watching his college film. Time will tell.
