  1. I think of it as a weekly series type of thing. Check back next week.
  2. You want to make it sounds like I don’t want want to win a SB. I really do! I also realize that 31 teams are disappointed every year (some as early as October). McD is 4-5 in playoff games, and we all with that was better. I just won’t concede to the woe is us attitude. He gets AT LEAST this year, so beating it to death here at this point seems senseless to me. What can we do better? Realistic things to improve? That is more my focus, and quite frankly this is getting tiresome. We are not all supposed to see eye to eye on everything. That would be weird. 😋
  3. I lived in the Tampa market during those years. It’s interesting, and we’ll never know how it might have turned out, but I think Dungy would have won it with the Bucs. Gruden was just so lucky to fall into that spot (again because he was the top name and got to pick his spot) and won almost by default over his old team who hadn’t even bothered to change their calls. That is one of the most underrated boneheaded moves in the history of the NFL. There is video of John Lynch belly laughing on the sidelines saying something like “they haven’t changed a thing!! 😂”
  4. They are a single team. They are the outlier. Keep that in mind. EDIT: Apparently at least a couple posters disagree. Are they not just one team? Are there a bunch of teams firing coaches on the way to SB’s? It seems getting TOO emotional can affect the way you see things. .
  5. The best candidates get to pick the best situations, or even sit out a year waiting for the right team and deal. Nobody wants to step into a bad management situation, it just makes the job too hard. The thought that we would consider a % of ownership shows how desperate we were. Any time you consider a new job, one question you need to ask is what happened to the last person in that position. Fire someone after a 14-4 season and I’d have to at least ask, is ownership reasonable?
  6. So McD would go collect SB rings somewhere else? 😋 Chip Kelly replaced Reid and had a record barely over .500. I do like how everyone likes to reference Reid and the Eagles. Philly has a top notch organization right now, but it doesn’t always turn into SB appearances. Sometimes you are the Browns.
  7. Firing a coach after a 14-4 season, in that example, is a short leash. Most teams and fan bases would sign up for 14-4 all day long.
  8. I disagree to some extent. The opportunity to take over a good roster with a franchise QB would certainly be attractive. But to take the job after another guy got fired after a 14-4 season tells you they have a very short leash. It reeks of Browns style management. I know, they will negotiate a big fat contract and be financially cared for, but I’d have reservations about that management.
  9. Here’s a thought I don’t think I’ve seen yet here: If you fire a coach after, say, a 14-4 season, how attractive is that job scenario for top HC candidates you hope will replace your 14-4 coach. I know I’d have reservations about following that up.
  10. His 15.5 sacks last year seem to fall on my side of the discussion. Only 3 players had more, and two were by 1/2 sack. That is an elite lass rusher regardless of where he lines up.
  11. Pressure is pressure. I actually PREFER it up the middle, it’s quicker and in the QB’s face. The question was do they have an elite pass rusher. The answer is yes.
  12. Chris Jones had 15.5 sacks last year, and has average 11.3 sacks over the last 5 years. That is an elite pash rusher. I want one of those! Hopefully we get more pressure this year, especially when Von comes back.
  13. I wasn’t trying to pick on you personally. I don’t disagree at all on your posts, but people often gravitate to things they like. I’m here on a Bills board and on a college hoops board, and never look at, say an NBA board. Likewise, certain threads here draw me more than others. If you look at the McD must go threads, certain people dominate them. We know that to be true. That’s not breaking a rule or a secret trust, it just gets tiresome. And THAT is why they invented the Ignore feature, I know. So I have that option. I’m fine.
  14. The bold may be where the disconnect is. I don’t hate your take on this. McD may have to be replaced at some point, but we agree now is not the time. What is mildly disturbing is the fervor with which some people latch onto this topic. You, Einstein and NewCam have 61 combined posts in the Mike Lombardi (pure speculation) thread. The 4th most frequent poster in that thread had 9 posts (and it is NOT me). THAT tells us something. We get it, enough already. So, I’ll do more of what most people are doing here: mostly ignore it, albeit manually.
  15. This stuff doesn’t “get to me” really. Even the games are just entertainment. I read someone had tears in their eyes right before 13 seconds. That is someone you need to talk to. I’m just trying to provide a little balance during free moments on Fathers Day weekend. It’s our son’s FIRST Fathers Day, and that is awesome beyond belief! I don’t recall the wager, but I’m sure I won so it’s time for you to pay up! 😋 Do you want to go ahead and let him know?
  16. Look at the most frequent posters on this thread and others like it. I’m not on that list, but certain people are, and nobody has to do much research to guess who they are. Some people get off on this stuff, and I’m just trying to provide a bit of balance.
  17. Not at all. It makes just as much sense as wanting to fire a coach coming of a 14-4 season, IMO. I just wanted some balance for all the whining. I think it’s fair to ask for a solution. Maybe a list of college HC’s or pro OC’s. If it’s not fair to ask for names, it’s not fair to assume that any replacement coach can do better than McD. I think the odds are against you there. I don’t like hypothetical “what we wish we did” talk. That’s the kind of garbage that takes no courage or real knowledge. We can all go back to previous drafts and say we should have done this, or that. Totally pointless. Face it, some people (and we all know who they are, look at the most frequent posters on this thread and similar threads) are getting off on this. You can say it’s killing time in the offseason, but some are taking it to crusade levels. IF you want to say there’s a problem, I don’t think it’s unfair to as for solutions, if only to slow the roll. .
  18. This is a good question. Having said that, after booking the flight and hotel, I realize that if I have to spend a couple hundred more than I’d like for a ticket, it’s just one more drop in the bucket. I’ll probably overpay early just to have some peace of mind. Also, a great seat would be nice, but ANY seat will do just fine. We went to a Super Bowl (Minneapolis) and had almost the worst seats in the house. Second from the top row in the end zone. I saw the same game everyone else did, and I checked a SB game off the bucket list. Where I sat is not what I regret about that game!
  19. However, Cap’n Crunch should come with a warning label. The roof of my mouth learned this the hard way.
  20. Disagree. So many people think we should get rid of the 14-4 coach from last season, they should have to provide a solution. The constant complaining should be balanced with something productive.
  21. Just booked flight and hotel. All I need now is one of those elusive game tickets! At the very least I’ll get my first trip to London, so how bad could it be?
  22. It still gets them a comp pick……. 🤷‍♂️
  23. Are you unhappy he made too much noise? Be glad you didn’t have to do his laundry. 😋
  24. I never would have ordered it as it sounds too rich for my usual taste. But I think that bite from the pepper makes you forget about the richness, or something. I knew it wasn’t what I ordered, but after one big bite I was upset when they brought the correct meal. My meal was of course fantastic as well, and my wife even said “You usually eat like a bird. I’ve never seen you eat like this!”
