Can anyone remember anything from their pre school?
Augie replied to Another Fan's topic in Off the Wall
Ya know, I usually side with the kids on these things, but with you…..…🤷♂️ -
Most people agree with you, we wish we had come across a couple more difference makers instead of B+ players. What you’re seeing here is reaction to the idea that we can judge the Hairston pick because we can see his career before he’s ever played a game. That’s different.

I’ve been watching and the rain just started. Jess Pegula was scheduled to play tonight, but I’m not sure if things will go as planned. My college buddy who is now a tennis pro goes every year. I’m glad they were able to keep the tournament in town. As a tennis player myself I’ve attended a bunch of tournaments big and small (but never a major) and the most fun I’ve ever had watching tennis live was team tennis years ago. I’m not even sure if that still exists, but it was a blast! There’s music and noise and beer….and more beer! It’s a great time in a great environment. Everyone there shares a love of the game. .

My wife’s cousin has a “used car dealership” here in town, but when asked what he does he says he’s a banker who sells cars. The money comes from the financing more than the sales. The wife does all of our car shopping now (she actually enjoys “the game”) but we generally stay vague about how ŵe’ll pay for it. We like them to think maybe they can make some money on the financing as well, so they can leave a few pennies on the table from the sale and trade in, then we pay cash. We knew a guy with a bunch of dealerships who said he’ll practically give the new cars away to get your trade-in. That is where the money is for him. .

This is funny timing. Today was the first day of our granddaughter’s preschool and our DIL just left here. My wife was babysitting the infant while mom broke the soon to be 3 year old into the new routine. I wonder what, if anything, she will recall from all of this. I don’t know if we had preschool back then, but I clearly remember kindergarten. I had a red mat during nap time, how to flush that crazy toilet was a mystery to me, and the girl who got frustrated trying to tie her shoes would throw them at the teacher. She got to go back to the same room the next year. -
I think this is what Eyore sees thru his mud colored glasses.

They knew about the off field stuff and felt comfortable after thoroughly investigating. Bishop getting hurt last year has nothing to do with the selection of Hairston this year. It’s just an unfortunate coincidence. The early camp reviews were not glowing, but it was early, and it can take some time to adjust. I don’t know enough to declare this a good or bad pick at this point. He could wear a HOF jacket one day, or he may be the second coming of Elam. I think it’s best to wait and see, and take the long view. .

Why do you say this? He has yet to play a game as a Bill. Injuries happen, and I’m just glad this one wasn’t more severe. His missed time in college was mostly due to an infection, I believe, and not any fault of his. I wish he was getting reps now, but it seems far too early for me to judge. .

It’s all McD’s fault. Everything good comes from Josh, but McD brings us down. I’ve read that here. Stuff happens…..but it sure seems to happen to our DB’s more than their fair share. We haven’t played a game that counts yet, and we are without our starting safeties and CB #2. I’d rather be healthy for the playoffs than preseason, but this is an inauspicious start.

My wife showed up alone at the dealership wearing yoga pants and a tee shirt. She was car shopping after Pilates class, but nobody paid attention to the lady there by herself. She watched as men and couples were greeted enthusiastically. She came and went a couple times to test this. She was ready to write a check for a new car, but they kept ignoring her. She knew exactly what she wanted to test drive, but they didn’t give her the chance. She wrote the sales manager as a courtesy to tell him why she went elsewhere to buy her new car. It’s hard to believe that mentality still exists, but it’s a real thing in some places.

I’ve never finished reading their menu, but I suspect that is 99.9% of the population.

So, is that one premium parking space for you and your friend? .

What, is there a game coming up? That would explain my flight! Maybe we need @Just Jack here?

THIS is the reason I’m still driving my 12 year old Toyota dog taxi my wife wants to get rid of. There are very few experiences I enjoy less than car shopping. Why would I want a new car? My car is already all perfectly “used”. Making me break in a new one would make me anxious for a while. .

Lucky you for getting away with only one day. You could get twice as much time to listen to your new genre if you caved and gave them two days, but good luck keeping it to a minimum. That’s huge. My son goes in almost every day, but Truist just opened new offices in The Battery, so he’s got a permanent parking spot there and he saves about 30 minutes on the way in, almost as much going home. Life is good on that front.

Don’t you work from home? 🤣

I think he found, or at least was looking for, a middle ground with the new coaching hires. They made a point of bringing in fresh perspectives to try to improve in certain areas, then drafted almost all defense. Sure, some shortcomings will appear (that’s life), but you can’t say they aren’t trying to step it up a notch. I give them credit for that. Now I just hope it works. .

You know what cocaine makes you want to do? MORE cocaine! I think that is courtesy of Robin Williams. .

Rest in peace, is it half of TBD or the 2025 Buffalo Bills?
Augie replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes, the same people will gripe until we win a Super Bowl. They don’t care about the regular season we enjoy. Even most of the “one before I die” crowd will then gripe until we win another. The wins are all on Josh, and any shortcomings are the result of Beane and McD. It’s laughably predictable. Me? I’m with you, looking forward to this season expecting to be entertained with some degree of optimism. It will take a combination of things to come together to win it all, but I think we are well positioned. -
I’m afraid you are wasting your time. There is too much hostility built up in some people to get anything other than what we are seeing here. They will carry this thread out of sheer hatred. We have to ignore the things they tell us to ignore, and just look where they point. They point to everything negative about the past, and tell us Josh is the only reason for anything good. They don’t see the bright side which I (and others, including Vegas) find so encouraging.

Does Madonna count? OK, I’ve never been in a fight. I did punch a guy once in middle school who threw a basketball at my head from about 3 feet away, but he was a bleeder and it wasn’t really a fight….more of a clean up effort. Fortunately we were outdoors.

Oh, you and those silly facts! Where is your outrage? Get with the program! It should be even harder to build a roster now, we are always drafting around #30 in each round. That is not the sign of a lousy team. .

That statue could be better described as a toilet (or target) for the birds, but I’d be good with that. 🤷♂️ .

This is what preseason is for. How can people properly lament the Bills next (inevitable) playoff loss if they haven’t been sharpening their whining skills for an entire season? Think Big Picture! I say we keep Josh, and hold out judgement on the rest.
