My wife went to a sorority reunion at the beach. Her best friend arrived and asked “OK, what’s up with everybody? Not the FaceBook BS, what’s really going on? I’ll start, I have one kid in prison, one in rehab and a doctor and a lawyer.” Things got pretty “real” as they say quickly after that. Your real, true friends are the ones you go to with the rough stuff. Everybody is there for the birthdays and graduations. Who is there to help you move or take you to the airport at an odd time? Who will go bail your kid out if you need it? Those are your true friends. .

I don’t want us to hire a 71 year old HC. I don’t care who he is. His giant ego probably tells him he’s a solid GM and he’d want those powers. No thank you, very much.

I would give Harbaugh about the same welcome I’d give Rex if he came back. No thank you. His schtick grows old fast, and there’s always about as much talk about his next stop as his current job. We all keep hearing Ben Johnson, but it’s a big leap from OC to HC. No slam dunk there. Whatever they do, I won’t be fretting over it too much. These are things that are beyond our control so it’s not worth getting too emotionally involved or upset about it.

Well, for what it’s worth you are far from alone. Lots of that going on. Everywhere.

No. But it is college basketball season! 😋

I feel like I’m at the circus in the house of mirrors. .

I would hope everyone watching, but I’m not in control of that. I’m not a Josh hater by ANY means, but we rarely seem in synch these days. There are a lot of factors involved, many we know nothing about.

Now we are changing the subject I was referring to.

“But other than that, Mrs Lincoln, how did you enjoy the play?” I’d argue that some of the questionable decisions are not always clearly reflected in the stats, but they still leave an impression. .

This is more entertaining than the games! 😋

Once upon a time when I was younger I'd be pissed

It seems I picked a good time to start caring less about the NFL. This would have been much more difficult for me a couple decades ago, but I’m much better now. If not for the Bills, the league would have minimal interest for me, personally. I credit the London trip for that clarity. -
Is this when we start the fire Josh threads?

Hey, that can be a real thing! 😋 Even on the bus……

I’ll admit the bold hurt, but I’m keeping my chin up. Our last trip to Vegas was the year before Covid, I think. The wife was working but we went early to stay with some close friends. They wanted us to stay at their place for a few days before our “Strip Adventure” began. WOW! The locals, especially those with far more money than I will ever see, have an TOTALLY different experience. They took us to the best restaurants on and off the Strip, to their (multiple) private clubs, their favorite parks, etc. They have a beautiful life and I’m happy for them. I can’t say that I loved the idea of desert life, but the view across their pool and the golf course of the Strip lit up and night was enough to sway me a bit. Funny side-note: They moved from FL to LA to be close to their grandchild. They moved from LA to Vegas to be farther from their daughter-in-law. 😂

I think we are meeting a daily requirement here.

A bit off topic, but this is related to why I own a ton of Bills gear, but zero jerseys. There is NOTHING wrong with jerseys, it just makes me a little uncomfortable that I have no idea who these people really are. If I did anything it would be a throw back to someone known to be of solid character.

If we were friends when we were young, I’d be open to being friends again in the present. I can’t really commit to friendship, because I don’t know who those people have grown to be. I’m sure some of the people I hung out with back in the day have turned into people I wouldn't want to spend my time with today. We all grow and develop in different ways, so I’m a wait and see guy. I’m still in touch with some guys I’ve known since 4th grade. We mostly communicate about…….I bet you can guess……the Bills! We text several times a week. I lived in Williamsville, but went to St Joes, so I had my neighborhood friends and my school friends. I have no idea what has happened to the HS guys. I’m also in regular touch with a group from college, and a couple guys in particular who I text with almost daily. .

I don’t think they are dishwasher safe. What else could it be? 🤷♂️

The Eagles may be good, but I won’t bet against Andy Reid after a bye week. -

I may have to brush up on my fractions. -
I was there. You saw Bills gear all over the city, but the Jags have been playing there since 2013. I heard unconfirmed estimates that the Bills had 20-25k fans come over. The rest of the stadium was very loud and mostly pro-Jags.

I’m not far behind you. The London “experiment” kinda put me over the edge. “Home game” my arse! That affects the quality and equity of the competition. Inexcusable. Our home games are played in Orchard Park (on decent turf), not the Jags second home with 70% Jags fans. EDIT: I have been to road games where Bills fans DID take over places like Nashville and Jacksonville. I think London may have more Jags fans than Jacksonville, at least the last time I was there. .
