  1. We should sell high. Very high.
  2. I’m just glad the Bills aren’t playing. Thanksgiving games have not been kind to us. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We have about 20 coming tomorrow, including my mother who will be 96 on Friday. We don’t break her out of the nursing home lightly, but how often do you turn 96?
  3. Pro Tip: Wear a poncho. You might get a little in your heels, but a wise move.
  4. True. And it’s nice to be in the first world where there are certain expectations. 😋 It’s almost hard to believe that this is even a story, and I won’t shed a tear for these guys. But if you check into a Red Roof Inn (are they still around?) you have low expectations, but hot water is on the short list. When I travel I adjust my expectations. I am on occasion quite surprised by how different things are in places we think of as “civilized.” It’s normal to them, so who am I to judge? 🤷‍♂️ This hot shower thing falls into the life category of…..stuff happens.
  5. He was probably giving away our secret handshakes, too! We need to keep some secrets!
  6. If he had truly schooled him, it would be against his own best outcome. He’s more savvy than that, but I enjoyed the correction. Nice, now we move on.
  7. I know you meant well. 😂
  8. Unfortunately, his best years under this contract have been seriously diminished by injury. You can argue not unexpected at his age, but he was performing very well prior to the injury. Sometimes you take a big swing and it’s not a home run. But I agree, there is no telling how close his play will ever be compared to before the injury just a year ago (almost). It might take more time to heal, while his window is closing. .
  9. That is some lousy timing! We had a trip planned with our kids to NYC in November after 9/11. Nobody knew anything then. It’s a serious “what do we do moment???”, but we went. That’s months later, so maybe the shock was starting to wear off. But that was a very spooky experience. Things were still a complete mess and…..well, hard to describe. In our bedroom the wife has a framed poem our son wrote a few years later for a creative writing class. Along with the poem is a photo of the young boys standing with the wreckage behind them. Very emotional. Anyway, I highly recommend the helicopter ride. It’s hard to fathom when the pilot points to a dark line in the canyon wall and says we are going to fly into it. Excuse me?!?! As you get closer and closer you see it’s actually like a giant cove in the air. Both times my brain had a hard time comprehending how vast it is. The first time we did it I worried about the cost. I don’t remember how much it was, but I remember the experience.
  10. How quickly people forget what Tre White looked like when he eventually came back. It’s not a Doc telling you you’re fine, so nothing ever happened. It happened, and it takes time.
  11. We went a few years ago and stayed with old friends for a few days before we went to the Aria and my wife went to work an event. Our friends had a big surprise for us, which turned out to be the helicopter trip into the Grand Canyon. It was a very kind and generous gift. My wife and I shared a glance and never mentioned that we had done the helicopter trip when we were out a few years earlier. It is a great excursion, and it’s ironic that I type this while watching The Bucket List.
  12. I cannot IMAGINE Tua surviving a game like that. But I’d like to see him try! 😋
  13. Happy BDay! I think they are rude to pick on the ancient. 😋
  14. If that doesn’t make you nervous you aren’t paying attention! Happy BDay!!!
  15. I was screaming “TOUCHDOWN!!!” before Cook ever crossed the LOS. That was absolutely beautiful!
  16. A friend from Hungary invited us to a dinner party at her place. There were 12-14 of us, and I was the only one who had never been to Hungary. How could that be? She made some traditional Hungarian dishes. Maybe it grows on you? 🤷‍♂️
  17. Do we have permission to run the draw from the shotgun??? 😋
  18. A approve of this. 😋 Do you remember the end of Dan Marino? After the Achilles he was never the same, right?
  19. I have my regular lunch places and I tend to have my favorite items at each place. One place for a Cobb salad, one for a Caesar salad. I get the same two tacos and cucumber salad at another place. I am often asked “do you even want a menu?” I’m a creature of habit, and I know what I like. I chose my dish when I chose my destination. If we go out for dinner it will almost always be fish, but I like to hear the specials. I am NOT shy about asking how much the special is after learning my lesson the hard way. We were at a tourist trap at Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco 25+ years ago and I ordered the delicious sounding seafood special. When the bill arrived I learned that my dinner alone was about $85, and this is a quarter century ago. I am the fool if I am too lazy or shy to ask now. Speaking of specials, I think it was Anthony Bourdain who warned that they are often made of things the chef needs to get rid of as it’s been sitting around longer than ideal.
  20. I had no idea @Gugny was that old! 😋
  21. Beer also causes yelling and screaming, along with all kinds of other crazy stuff.
  22. I think he’s my age, but taller.
  23. This is a family friendly place, she better not try posting that sex tape stuff! Wasn’t that her in the last year or so? Does she just crave attention? She had to know saying she just made stuff up was going to cause a stir.
  24. The nostalgia is bringing a tear to my eye. Or is that our current situation? It’s hard to tell. 🤷‍♂️
  25. Honestly, they have done a pretty good job of filling those DL holes, even if on a bunch of one year deals. Marvin Harrison Jr is a stud. If you already have a QB, I don’t see how you pick anyone else in this draft if you have a shot at him. There will be some good WR’s later, of course, but every time I see him he looks like the best player on the field. And it doesn’t seem very close.
