the game has changed a lot since then, and the 2018 Bills are just as far behind the best teams as they were for the Bullough era
I am more optimistic than you. The Bullough era was really bad. I am going to give this team the rest of the year before I put them in that class. But I admit this start is pretty bad.

Sully does make the scary comparison to the Hank Bullough days. I remember those days and they were embarrassingly bad!
I remember those days too. I don't think we are that bad yet. This team can pull itself together and win some games. Thanks for posting. It's good to know there is still some of the old timers around.

Color me shocked that the same people who've hated the pick since day 1 are still hating on it.
Haters have to hate.

Nobody better give Josh the Business!
I remember that. I always thought that was when that team started to get some team spirit. It seemed to pull them together.

A lot of penalties and some of them wiped out good plays. The starting QB was pulled before half time. The game was over by the half.
I wanted a competitive team. It's not losing as much as losing convincingly. No passing game and no run game and the defense didn't show signs of life until it was too late.
It was a total disaster in all phases of the game. Really pathetic display today.
Don't worry everybody! The coach is going to study the film and try to find the teams problems.

I have about had it.
We know about all the recent switches by national prognosticators that have the Bills moving into last place with Peterman at QB.
We know about the odds makers in Vegas betting "when is Peterman's first interception" and "what are the chances his first throw is a interception."
We know about the "are the Bills already the worst team in the NFL?" article.
Now (and sorry if it has been reported someplace else on the board) my friend texted me that an anonymous NFL GM has said that Allen will lead the NFL in interceptions this year.
That is not a typo. Even though Allen isn't even starting from game one the GM still thinks he will lead the league in picks.
Fine. Additionally, on other boards as our team gets made fun of I quietly handle the situation respectfully.
Between us here...I am seething right now. The season hasn't even started and I have rarely seen a team get a national beat down the way ours has, a year after making the playoffs.
I don't know what is going to happen on Sunday and I know many of you don't like Peterman. Nothing would make me happier, though, than this kid lighting it up against the Ravens.
We take all this crap as black board material more than the team, but this is getting ridiculous.
Swords forward.
Let's play the damn game!
Take them to the wood shed boys!!!
LLLLEEEEEEROOOOOOYYYYYY NNNNJENKINS!!!!!!
(yes, I do know the reference well...we will fare better)!
I am with you! No quarter! Take no prisoners!

Don't place stock in pre-season estimates regardless if they ranked us #32 or #1. Way too many variables to know what's going to happen. Injuries being the primary one, but also we don't know yet about how Daboll will really run his offense. The line is bad in pass protection, but do OK with run blocking, so I can see a lot of runs, lot of two step drops and quick throws, screens, etc. I don't think Daboll showed his hand in pre-season. As for D, we don't know what Frazier will dial up for pass rushing. Edmunds should come on as the season goes on. DB.s are good. Question will be the run D.
Very good post. They should hire you at ESPN. You have a better knowledge of the team.

I am proud to say I was one of those people.
I cheered for you while you did. It's been an up and down ride hasn't it?

Right there with you. I think it was the 68 season; I'd watch every game thinking there was no chance we'd win.
Do you remember when we finally beat Miami and the crowd tore the goalposts down ?

Man, if they only knew - I know where you are coming from oldmanfan!
I remember 2 and 14 and cheering for a first down like it was a touchdown.

Totally agree. You have to cut a guy if you can replace him with a better player. If the GM doesn't have the stones for that then it's time to get a new GM who does.
I was commenting on how tough a life it is for the borderline guys.
I didn't see that coming. I'm pretty sure that dude played on our OL for most of the Bengals game. ?
He was one of our better guards.

Thanks for this post. I have been feeling a down lately and the comments on this really got me laughing. The best one was, Looks like a cow had sex with a bear. That was great!

The problem is that they hire ex players. They may be great players, but they are usually dumber than a box of rocks.

Anyone who blames Allen for todays debacle doesnt know football..The offensive line was atrocious...the wrs had trouble separating. Could he have gotten rid of the ball a hair sooner sure..but just contrast the time he had to dalton or barkley..on the td pass to aj green dalton has over 3 seconds to throw..on the one play in the first half allen barely finishes his drop before ducasses is pushed right back into his lap.
Horrible offensive line play, they got McCarron hurt last week and almost got Allen hurt this week. Don't worry about which quarterback starts, worry about the offensive line. Those guys would get manhandled by a Pop Warner team. The coach should have went up in the crowd and found some fat guys and put them in uniform.

The way I read it he says our team sucks. I don't agree.

That's a good question. I haven't heard his name all preseason. Is he injured?

The court of public opinion.

AWESOME! They took their time, and it wasn’t quite Mike Curtis with the Colts....but that was AWESOME. He got what he deserved!
BTW - I haven’t had Canadian bacon in forever. Sorry, bacon can jump into the front of my mind with no warning....
Yes!! Somebody that remembers Mike Curtis. Now there was a man who could hit.

Click-bait idiocy. This year's "The Bills season is over before it started."
Seriously, did a Buffalo Bill pee in this guy's cereal or something at some point? ?
I haven't yet but I will If I get a chance. I am not a Bill just a fan, but I would be happy to help.

Bunch of old farts around here. Maybe we can request a special forum for you codgers. We’ll call it “Get off my lawn!”
All y’all can hang out there talking about the good old days and how much harder you had it growing up.
Would work for me!

I was listening to Colin Cowherd and he said according to league sources Rosen is already blowing everyone away.
According to the source Rosen "looked incredible" and is already a virtual lock to be starting week 1.
Did we mess this up?
This is a Bills forum. Why do we care about Arizona's quarterback?

Yes, That's the way it was. It's funny now but it wasn't funny then.

Thanks for a really great post. Boy did that bring back memories. I remember those games but watching those highlights brought everything back. It was great. Those clips should be required watching for the Bills team and all Bills fans this week.
