  1. I'd rather keep Orton than bring in Cutler. At least has shown some kind of passion for playing. Cutler just seems like he never cares. I don't want his negative attitude in the locker room. He also has a massive contract that would be tough to get out of. We don't want a crappy QB keeping us stuck in salary cap hell
  2. I started thinking about all of the starters in the league and the ones that may be available for trade, Cutler, Kaepernick, RGIII etc.... I don't really want any of them especially not Cutler or Kaepernick because both have massive contracts and are not worth paying a bunch of money to. So I started thinking, what backup QB is out there that we can possibly get for a late round pick? has had some kind of success in the league and can "compete" for a starting job? After going roster by roster I thought Kirk Cousins is the only one that would really be worth anything. He has one year left on his rookie contract and he is only going to be getting paid $660,000 next season. Now granted, his last couple of games that he started he didn't play well, like the Giants game when he threw 4 INTs. Other than that though he has shown a little bit at least and in my opinion is the one backup in the league with at least a small upside. If we got him for a late round pick, something like a 6th or 7th rounder to come in and again "compete" for a starting job not be given a starting job, he may be worth going after. If he doesn't play well we can release him after next season with no penalty. He can't play to much worse than Orton has been playing. We do only need somewhat mediocre QB play with our defense after all.
  3. The Ravens have no bearing on our playoff chances. The only thing we need to happen is: 1.We win out 2.Pittsburgh wins out 3.Bengals lose out 4.Chargers and Chiefs each lose one game The Ravens can win out and it doesn't matter
  4. I can't wait if Orton has a good game tomorrow to see everyone say he's our guy and we can build around him and then if he plays horrible against Oakland or New England about how he's not the answer.
  5. RGIII's contract situation sounds the most appealing of all these QBs. He still in his rookie contract which has one year left on it. He is only going to be making $3.3 million next season as a base salary and then it could be decided based on his play whether or not to pick up his 5th year option. It sounds almost worth trading a mid round pick to pay him the 3.3 million for next season and then if it doesn't work cut him in 2016 with no penalty. I would make this move
  6. Just saw on the NFL Network on the little scroll thing at the bottom of the screen that the Packers have waived Colt Lyerla. This is a guy we need to take a chance on. Hopefully we bring him in
  7. Parcells turned around 3 other franchises and belicheat was a defensive assistant when he lost with the Patriots in the super bowl against the packers. On top of winning two super bowls with the Giants, he as I just stated turned around the patriots and took them to the super bowl. He then went to the Jets and turned them around from a 1-15 team to making the AFC championship game just two years later and then he takes over the Cowboys and turns them around and was able to make Quincy Carter a playoff QB. That's a damn good coach if you ask me. He has had a lot more success than Belicheat has
  8. Dude are you serious? he was in Cleveland for 5 years. His first 3 years he went 6-10, 7-9 and 7-9 again. In today's NFL you don't get a 4th year with those kind of records in your first 3 years
  9. Bill Parcells, Bill Walsh (Although one could argue he had Montana), Tom Coughlin (Who has beaten Belicheat in the super bowl twice by the way)
  10. Bill Belicheat is who he is because of Tom Brady. He was a failure in Cleveland and had a losing record in New England before Brady took over. Also, the people who always talk about the 2008 season when Brady was hurt the whole season and Matt Cassel played and they went 11-5 but missed the playoffs, why don't they take a look at who the patriots beat that season and who they lost to. Four out of their five losses were against teams with winning records and 10 out of their 11 wins were against teams with losing records. The only team they beat that season with a winning record was the Cardinals in a late december blizzard in New England. Belicheat lucked out with Brady. He wouldn't even be a head coach in this league right now if he would have stuck with Bledsoe or had another QB
  11. I hope EJ works out don't get me wrong but i brought this up for the simple fact that if it doesn't work out for him this year we need a definite back up plan
  12. Assuming EJ fails this season and the fact that we don't have a first round pick to use on a QB next season, we may have to settle for a capable veteran for a bit. There are two guys that I think have a good possibilty of not being retained by their teams next year. One of them is Andy Dalton who I think is got one last shot to take it to the next level otherwise he is gone and Sam Bradford who I think is a QB with talent but has never had any good receivers, a really crappy offensive line and a history of injuries keeping him from being successful. These are guys that we may be able to get our hands on next season for realtively cheap contracts if neither one pans out this year. Alex Smith could possibly be another option but one of these 3 guys would be the ones to go after. My question is which one of these guys would everyone want to take a shot on if EJ doesn't work out? These are the only QB's worth mentioning because all the other FA QB's next year are awful

  14. i don't really think he has a choice right now. No one is gonna pay him big money with the position that he is in. the team that does sign him will be to a cheap 1-2 year deal. I think a one year $1-2 million dollar deal would be ideal. The packers don't need him as much as we do anyway We didn't go tighe end in the draft because they were all taken before the 3rd rd. Personally I really believe if the Buccs didn't take Seferian Jenkins a few picks before us in the second he was gonna be ours
  15. I understand the fact that he hasn't been cleared to play yet but since we were unable to pick a tight end AGAIN, we should bring Finley in for a workout and at least have a look see. We may be able to get him at a minimal one year deal. I get that we have 5 tight ends on the roster but none of them really bring anything to the table and not all of them are gonna make the team anyway. We need that game breaking player at the position. Finley is that guy. If he could be had on the cheap I say we take a shot
