  1. Cool, thanks for the clarification.
  2. It was a long time ago and I could be wrong, but didn't he have like 8 INTs in 3 games his rookie year? I seem to recall at least half being tipped balls that went right to him. After that his moniker became "ball hawk." He's a diva and I'm not fond of divas in sports. I wasn't sad to see him go. Now I wasn't on the board back then and obviously didn't take a public stand. So I it's easy to say that I wasn't sad to see him go, true or not. But -- As a diehard Mets fan -- I'm watching the Matt Harvey debacle with disgust. I hope they trade his a$$ first chance they're offered something decent. Players who try to hold their teams hostage through their (or their agents') antics can play elsewhere.
  3. Don't know why, but I'm curious as to which part you edited.
  4. Flash back to 2000. 9th ranked offense. 3rd ranked defense. Ronnie Jones as special teams coach of perhaps the worst ST unit in league history. This would have worked better than kicking the ball straight in the air, which was our "strategy."
  5. This. So many mock drafts had us taking Tavon Austin. I know it's crazy, but I'd rather have EJ + Shady.
  6. I respect everyone's opinion. I'll leave it at this: Three weeks before the election, Bibi was toast. Our president decided to stick his nose in Israel's politics and as a result the people felt threatened. When that happened -- Labor, Likud and many in between -- came together and elected the guy/party they felt could best handle the security of Israel. This is well documented. Black members of Congress rightly care about civil rights issues. Female members of Congress rightly care about equal rights for women. Why can't Jewish members of Congress care about Israel? Edit: As for Schumer, I can't stand the guy. But even a broken clock is right twice a day.
  7. "Shomer" has at least three meanings. Could be "guardian," as you wrote. Generically, it also means "a guard" (like at a bank) and it's also used as a verb to mean "is guarding" or "is watching." For the record (and this isn't directed toward you, yungmack), Israel does not expect ANYONE to do its "bidding." That's MSM fodder. In fact, the U.S. regularly ties Israel's hands when it wants to go it alone to protect itself. I don't expect anyone without strong ties to the country to understand. Surprised this was brought up in a FOOTBALL forum. I'd gladly take it up in PPP -- You know, where it belongs. On topic, Carucci's article in The Buffalo News is an absolute train wreck. Not only is it all over the place and poorly written, it's more of a temper tantrum than anything resembling a column.
  8. If I stick my finger in a doberman's face, I expect to lose that finger. Simply put, Geno is a moron.
  9. Was this ban temporary or permanent? I missed the circumstances behind it, so idk.
  10. I chuckled Betty might have removable dentures, though. Does that change things?
  11. Seriously? LOL I'd love to know who said that so I can tip my cap. And I agree, she's something else.
  12. Agree. "Smashmouth football" on all three units. We've seen enough of the alternative for 15 (16 now?) years.
  13. Geno Smith vs. Rhonda Rousey. Who wins?
  14. I think our defense has the talent to be as good as -- or better than -- the 2002 Bucs. If they won it with Brad Johnson under center, I don't see why we can't do the same thing with ___________ throwing the rock, especially with Shady and Percy on this team. Two schools of thought: "Defense wins championships." "It's a quarterback-driven league." I'm old school and agree with #1.
  15. Also a good point. But the Jets have a new head coach and a new defensive coordinator. There's no film yet. Granted, the Bills don't play the Jets till Week 10. Still, I don't see a down side to this signing. If IK truly is a thug and flames out -- What did the Bills lose?
  16. Fair point. But that 2003 Bills team was awful. They finished 6-10. Yet they shut out and destroyed the reigning Super Bowl champs. My opinion is that's more than just coincidence. Of course, there's no right or wrong answer to this question. Just food for thought.
  17. Would the Bills have spanked the *Pats 31-0 without Lawyer Milloy?
  18. Anyone remember this from last year? Geno probably should learn to keep his mouth shut. Maybe having it wired shut for a few months will do the trick. "Smith refused to say what he told Casey to precipitate the fight and insisted it was just routine trash talking - "just football stuff." Pressed, Smith asked, "Is this an investigation?"
  19. "Enemkpali was a 19-year-old redshirt freshman at Louisiana Tech in April 2011 when he got into a brawl with the off-duty Arcadia officer working security at Rabb’s Steak House in Ruston. The security man, Hezekiah Perry, managed to unleash pepper spray on Enemkpali." Article
  20. "Quarterback EJ Manuel and guard Kraig Urbik, both of whom were benched by Marrone this year, both chimed in with “Happy New Year!” tweets within minutes after the news broke that Marrone is leaving." Link: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/12/31/bills-players-caught-off-guard-by-doug-marrones-exit/
  21. Yup, you did say that! And Rex is definitely "special," if nothing else. I'm also shocked that it happened so quickly, but I have a feeling that after both sides of the story were made public, everyone calmed down a bit. Geno ain't "no saint," if you know what I mean. Thank you again for keeping it civil.
  22. @NoSaint: Being how you were the only one who wasn't a douche and actually debated me on this, my original point -- I'm interested in your thoughts, now that IK is a Bill. You seem to think the guy is an a$$. That's cool. I think Incognito is an a$$. We're entitled to our opinions, and I don't see how they're different. BTW, I respect yours. @Rob's House: I did some digging, and yup -- You did have a steady opinion about Incognito. So to you, my apologies. I don't believe my reply to you was nearly as bombastic as other posters made it out to be, but point taken, and apology made. To those who partook in what I dubbed the "circle jerk" -- Perhaps next time you'll find value in arguing the FOOTBALL-RELATED point of a poster in lieu of attacking a tertiary remark that you skewed to fit your own lame agendas. I never called Rob a "homer," as one of you suggested. My exact quote to Rob was, "I doubt you'd say that if he weren't a Bill." And the rest of you went nuts on THAT, and not my original post. It really says something about you. You're here to pick a fight, not discuss football. And I stand by what I wrote earlier: YOU are the reason this board has lost so many quality posters over the past decade. I miss many of them. Thanks for all your hard work, guys. I have strong opinions on Incognito. I don't want him to be a Bill. But, as a true fan, I do not wish him ill on the field, especially now that he's part of the TEAM I've loved since the late '70s. I ABSOLUTELY believe the guy is a bully, and to the one poster who objected to the line, "Incognito woke up knowing he was going to bully at teammate," I offer this: Do you really believe he hasn't displayed a pattern of this type of behavior at the very least throughout his NFL career? Do you really believe that bullying is a knee-jerk reaction -- a one-time, in-the-heat-of-the-moment deal? If so, there's nothing left to discuss. I'm just SMH. I don't have the time to post here 24/7. I don't know everyone's take on every issue, as many of you seem to, nor do I have the time or desire to do hours of research before making a comment. I never "berated" Rob. I never called him a "hypocrite." I never "called him out." The strongest word in my reply to him was "doubt." Shame on me. To those of you who have thousands of posts here -- More power to you. But just because you have been posting here for years and someone else with an opinion hasn't, it doesn't make him or her wrong. Try to stay on point about FOOTBALL and you'll be amazed at how a spirited dialogue trumps petty retorts and one-liners any day. Shockingly, even someone who "only" has 80-something posts can be right about something. I hope that a lesson has been learned here, though I seriously doubt it. Flame away.
  23. Thank you. Enjoy your circle jerk.
  24. ... in YOUR opinion. What was I thinking? You're right. Vick didn't kill dogs. Incognito didn't have a reputation for being a total a$$ since he entered the league. What was I thinking? This is the problem with these forums, and the reason you guys have chased away so many quality posters through the years. You guys don't "debate" -- you "attack." Just another bunch of elitists who have zero respect for another viewpoint. Enjoy your forums, guys. What's left of 'em.
