  1. I don't think anyone here is doubting that it was a terrible throw. Let's try this another way. If Brown, Thomas, Dez, OBJ, Calvin and Jordy -- throw in A.J. Green -- go up for that same exact ball in that same exact coverage with the game on the line -- regardless of who throws it to them -- do they come down with it? To me, that's the argument. DannyFrigginAmendola came through HUGE for the Pats with a much more difficult catch (IMO). He had no business catching that ball, and he had it all the way -- It's not like he got lucky. The fact that Brady threw it is irrelevant unless you subscribe to the belief that receivers work harder for Brady because 1). he's Tom Brady and 2). they know he'll chew their a$$ out if they don't. (See Thompkins, Kenbrell). There might be something to that. Another scenario: Let's say the Bills are up by 2 on their own 30 with 10 seconds left and Brady throws that exact pass. It goes right off Nikkel Robey's hands (in the exact manner it did for Sammy) and falls incomplete. The Pats kick the field goal to win the game. This forum would go absolutely berserk and Robey would be the Antichrist with far fewer posters giving him the benefit of the doubt that Sammy's getting.
  2. We don't need the "I've seen other guys make that catch before" excuse. It comes down to heart. Please be objective. Was his catch tougher than Amendola's? To clarify, I'm referring to undrafted free agent Danny Amendola, and we're talking about two wide receivers in the same game. One a #4 overall pick, the other an undrafted FA (that bears repeating). One made an insane catch when his team needed him to and one did not. In case you missed it: http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/new-england-patriots-danny-amendola-catch-092015 As I said, we drafted Watkins to make those plays.
  3. Beat me to it. We traded up to get this guy. The term "once-in-a-generation WR" has been thrown around. We drafted him to make exactly those types of catches. Do I expect him to come down with that? Yes. Yes, I do.
  4. Yup. If DannyfrigginAmandola can makes his catch in a clutch situation, Sammy should make this one. Bad throw, but Sammy "catches everything" Watkins -- if he's as good as billed -- should have come down with it. Think Beckham Jr. misses that?
  5. But he was catching everything in preseason practice...
  6. Shhhhhh... Don't let common sense get in the way of homerism..
  7. True, but when the opposing team goes up big, it takes Shady and Co. out of the game. We have to depend solely on TT, and right now, that's not going to cut it. If our defense plays anywhere near its potential (or like it did against Indy) next week it'll come down to offenses. I think we have much more talent (TT not withstanding).
  8. Tannehill is not Brady. Philbin is not Bilicheck.
  9. I really feel your pain. Sports talk radio is going to be obnoxious more obnoxious than usual this week.
  10. One can never have too many DBs...
  11. TT could have had a first down there if he hadn't hesitated. Not sure if the coaching staff has shackled him, but if they did, it's a mistake. Why not let our QB do the one thing that Brady can't?
  12. This. I just heard a rumor that we play at least 14 more games this season. Man, I hope it's true!
  13. As am I. But I'm not going to proclaim defeat in the second quarter. Sorry.
  14. Why didn't he get a penalty for removing his helmet on the field?
  15. Fair enough. I'm just glad you're not Coach. We'd be hitting the showers by now, and perhaps there'd be a mass suicide in the locker room.
  16. Yup. But you said we were being outplayed "in every aspect. "Every" leaves very little room for alternative interpretation.
  17. How were we outplayed on our first drive? Just curious.
  18. Because Rex's Jets teams owned the Pats for years, right?
  19. I really hope the Bills have studied and restudied film from the last Pats-Giants Super Bowl. That's how you beat Brady, and we have the defense to do it, and make the refs irrelevant in the process.
  20. Nope. Had no idea. Hey, I understand your line of thinking, and it's shared by most. That's cool. My take is this: Most fans hate the Pats*. Most fans hate Goodell. But everyone loves a good street fight. Regardless of what happened, Pats* fans will still tune in to watch their team, and other fans will tune in to watch in the hopes that Brady and the Pats* choke. Egos aside, the NFL is a business, and the Pats* remaining relevant is good for ratings -- and hence, business, especially due to the buzz generated by Deflategate. I love the Bills as much as anyone, but, without being a homer, can I say that ratings for a Bills-Packers Super Bowl will draw the same ratings as a Pats*-Packers Super Bowl? Nope.
  21. << 15. The refs and the Patriots**(**) are sitting in a tree... >> < The refs work for the NFL > "JUST GIVE IT TO THEM!" -- Ref who worked for the NFL
  22. He's right. We're supposed to be in mourning after beating the Colts. Don't you guys know anything?
  23. St. Louis: 10-6
