  1. I'm pretty sure Brady has nude selfies of Father Time or something, so he's not going anywhere for a while...
  2. Miami will be as close as there is such a thing this year... even then it becomes a dangerous trap game to teams looking ahead. Much like the Bungles are for us this week.
  3. I would say in today's NFL, what the Texans gave up for Tunsil was an ASTRONOMICAL amount... and it's no anywhere near the NO trade for Ricky Williams. The more I read, I see people throwing out teams like Indy as an example of tanking working or people saying the Dolphins should or shouldn't be punished. My take is this: Indy tanked for Luck, we all know they did, and frankly most people were begging for the Bills and any other mediocre team to do the same. Did it work out? They got a franchise QB who was a generational talent, but they never properly built around him, and the absolute BEATING that man too as a result caused him to retire early before ever achieving what he COULD HAVE BEEN. I would argue that the Dolphins have put themselves in a similar risky spot, they traded away all their proven talent and now are reliant on draft picks to try and get better... as we all know that's risky. Who's to say they don't take the next Mike Williams to protect Tua's blind side and gets him killed? There are risks in what they're doing as well... The main complaint is that the Dolphins have upset the competitive balance of the league by intentionally getting rid of all their talented players for futures. Sooooo If the NFL is mad they're intentionally bad, can you explain how that is solved by the Dolphins being punished by having draft picks stripped away? They absolutely WILL NOT get better if the league strips them of the picks they got for these players... so they wont have the players, or the picks, and they'll be terrible so no FAs will want to go there. It's essentially a death sentence for a few years... Does the NFL want to create a team that will be a door mat to the rest of the league for the next few years? I highly doubt that, as it would upset the competitive balance of the league further. I see them giving a slap on the wrist to Miami, may take 1 pick and a salary cap penalty fine or something... then they'll change the rules about what teams can get in compensation: IE: You can't trade for 3+ first rounders in the same season or something to that effect.
  4. If you cut Connor McDermott you only have 3 OTs, Dawkins, Ford, and Ty.... most people want to move Ty over to OG, so you want to only have 2 OTs on the roster? Lee Smith is the best blocker we have and he has been healthy, something neither Kroft nor Knox have been this off-season, cutting him opens you up to being short handed if Kroft can't stay healthy WHEN he actually is able to play. Johnson is playing a key role in special teams, and rotation at Safety. I agree, Duke keeps impressing... but who do you cut to get him on the active roster? If Singletary isn't 100% they're going to need to consider adding a RB as it is, and they're already dangerously thin at CB. My thought is the Bills are looking to get the O-Line sorted out and either cut or trade the odd man out to a team needy of O-Line help. Once they do that they will open up a spot they can use for RB, CB, or WR. My thought is their first call for the 53 for each: RB: Marcus Murphy (FA still) or Byron Marshall (PS) CB: Cam Lewis (PS) WR: Duke Williams (PS) They have other more pressing needs right now than WR, and while I think Duke should be on the 53 ... who do you cut? Right now, IMHO the lowest of the low on the totem pole for the 53 are: Kurt Coleman (S) & Ike Boettger (OG)... While he's buried on the depth chart I think Coleman is a team favorite because of his familiarity with the system, and Boettger is a rotational depth guy on the line's interior, but maybe is becoming expendable with Morse, Spain, Feliciano being the starters and Long and Bates playing as well as they have in reserve roles. Plus Ford looking better at OG changes that interior as well, but it makes us VERY thin at OT where we only have 4 including Ford. If Ford is permanently moved to OG, they can trade Long and/or cut Boettger because it would move Feliciano to a reserve role. But we end up with just 3 OTs in Dawkins, Ty, and Connor McDermott. That's far less than Ideal. It's a VERY difficult numbers game right now, so just adding Duke means losing something else. They are a bit banged up on the back end so you don't want them to cut a Safety unless they're adding a CB to fill in for Johnson. You just don't want to thin the herd right now with NE on the horizon. I would keep an eye on Andre Robert's health and the kick return game. If they guys handling it now keep doing the good job they're doing, I could see them move Roberts to IR and release him with an injury settlement which could open the door for Duke Williams to come on to the 53 man roster. But that's really the only avenue at this juncture I see which would get Duke Promoted... until the O-Line is more settled and we have a clearer picture of who we want to keep and who can go.
  5. Well they might as well not play then ?
  6. https://nflpaweb.blob.core.windows.net/media/Default/PDFs/2011 CBA Updated with Side Letters thru 1-5-15.pdf I honestly can't find a clear answer to this in the CBA...
  7. I am so sick and tired of hearing about Poncho Billa... a guy who lived in Texas is the face of all Bills fans now, because he had cancer... just let that sink in people... How many Buffalo Bills fans in Buffalo and around the country have lived and died and loved this team and have battled with cancer etc? And yet this guy is "the ultimate bills fan" and what not... It's just silly, and I CANT FREAKING WAIT for people to stop talking about him. Yeah I know this isn't popular and people are going to get grouchy, but whatever...
  8. Does sex trafficking Asian women count as a business association?
  9. I haven't had cable for 4 years now. It was really hard at first not getting Sabres games (as there is no alternative for cord cutters who live "In market"). But you get used to it... I don't get Thursday Night Football unless it's one of the ones on Prime, but those games suck anyways and again, you get used to it and do other things with your time. It does suck, but these sports leagues are losing money from this stuff because people like me just stop paying attention. I was a Sabres Season Ticket Holder a few years ago, I now couldn't name more than 4 people on the team. The Tank combined with the NHL making it impossible to watch in market (Center Ice blacks out "local Games" and MSG doesn't have streaming rights for Sabres games because Center Ice Does. Plus TSN streams but not in Buffalo because it's "locally blacked out") games without buying cable basically took the entire product away from me. Because of that I lost all interest. I emailed the Sabres 4 different times complaining and got no response, so it just showed me they don't care... so why should I?
  10. I'm pretty sure Archie stopped watching football when Peyton Retired...
  11. yeah the spread of legalized gambling combined with the popularity of fantasy football is going to be huge for the NFL. I think free access for surveys IE quid pro quo is a good way to play it for the groups like Amazon... it;s something they can capitalize on but others like Netflix cannot. They could sell the info but they can't use it... Amazon can use it to bolster it's own business AND Sell it... But it also puts the NFL product into the market for free where the others would be limiting... something the NFL seems to be trying to get away from. Very interesting I didn't read that part about surveys for "free" viewing. That makes Youtube another viable place too for buying NFL games. They can use the surveys across the other Google owned products etc.
  12. If Netflix had any brains, they would go HAAAARD After buying the exclusive NFL Rights for streaming. They're pumping crazy money into development of content and they're still losing market share every month. They have had negative cash flow in the billions going back to 2014, as they have been reinvesting their profits AND borrow billions to try and create unique content. Yet at the same time people keep cancelling as CBS & Disney yank their properties off Netflix to put them on their own services. Netflix is getting squeezed out of the market place they essentially proved could be highly profitable. If they want to buy content that will blow up their subscriptions as well as ensure long term revenue through advertising etc.... buy the NFL slate, or half of it... The thing I see as a worry is the NFL won't necessarily want to get in bed with a company that losing market share and could go under or get bought out mid-way through a new TV contract. Also parting out games to Hulu (Or ESPN+ which ever Disney decides to try and buy games for), Prime, CBS, NBC Sports, Netflix in bundles would probably make them more money than selling off huge blocks. It's certainly going to be interesting. The NFL really needs to be sure they put their product in a place where the most people can see it, otherwise they're hurting themselves, but at the same time they need to maximize their dollars since whoever buys the rights are going to make crazy money and market the ***** out of it!
  13. I was really hoping they'd trade for Ryan TanneFAIL
  14. Don't get your hopes up man, If Peterman is involved anything "Thrown in" will get intercepted...
  15. When it was an "Institution" and on broadcast it was must see TV because it was readily available to the masses. It was the last chance to see football until next Sunday... now they have games on Thursday so it's not as big a deal. Plus in our 24 hour news cycle and information straight to the palm of our hand, we don't feel ANY lag from being away from Football news etc... Moving it to ESPN was a death knell because it took the product away from people who could watch it without cable, which stripped the NFL of featuring the best games and drumming up more sponsors etc. It's just as bad as Thursday Night being on NFL Network, but since they own that abomination of a network they pretend it's not a massive failure... but it is... The new TV contracts that come into play following the next CBA are going to get very interesting. The NFL is already testing the waters with different streaming services, and I bet they are going to try and spread out the games more to different networks to make sure their product is more readily available. Forcing people to need ESPN to watch what is supposed to be your MARQUEE game slate is just plain STUPID.... but putting it on NBC makes a whole hell of a lot of sense because anyone can watch it... same with CBS & Fox.... ABC doesn't want it since it's also owned by Disney and they've made a concerted effort to move all sports over to their ESPN division. Streaming rights and an end to the "Sunday Ticket" exclusivity contract that has been rumored is going to give the NFL the ability to have content Bidding Wars... it's going to be VERY lucrative in an ever intensifying "Content war" with the media conglomerates... Netflix and Prime are going to bend over backwards to shove NFL content onto their service.... Prime already has some of the Thursday night slate. CBS All Access will want the games that are one CBS, Disney will want the games that are on FOX to be put on the Hulu platform, and NBC is slated to launch it's own streaming service in 2022... so they will want more content there like they have Sunday Night Football on the NBC Sports app. Sorry got off on a huge tangent, but my fundamental point is the NFL is trying to put the best games in places where the MOST PEOPLE can see them... which is why Monday Night Football has gone WAAAAAY down since moving off broadcast TV and over to ESPN. Which is smart of them to keep the best games in places where the most people can see them, but its also stupid because those are supposed to be their "Marquee games" and they're making their ratings look like *****.
  16. Very insightful, thanks...
  17. 5th in 2020 with a conditional 6th in 2021 depending on performance, games played, and if we re-sign him. He's great when healthy but as has been said over and over again in this thread, that's almost never. He's hitting the "past his prime" years, but he's still a presence on the field and makes some good plays. Picture TO at the end of his career but not as healthy. I'd take a late round flier on him to round out this WR Group... but I wouldn't do much more than that.
  18. It depends what you want to do on Game Day etc... if you drive up Saturday you can take advantage of tons of great stuff in Buffalo, but if you stay in Hamburg it's all kind of a hike to get downtown etc... not crazy long, especially compared to NJ traffic, but a solid 30+ minutes to get to stuff... But if you stay in hamburg you're in prime location for Sunday. Take a look at some of the things you guys want to do, and pick your hotel based on that. If you've never been in the area, Niagara Falls is always a crowd pleaser, the Explore and More Childrens Museum is amazing and brand new downtown, plus you can check out Canal Side... it being late October it'll be cold but not snowing probably. You also have great dining, and great eats... I highly recommend you hit up some wings from Buffalo locations and see the difference here versus else where. Have fun man!
  19. Historic stats mean nothing year to year... fans like to look back at that stuff, but any given Sunday any team can win. Unless you're Miami.... Dalton has played well against us, but we have a different team now than the last time we faced off... offense and defense... He's a year older, and showing decline. We have a QB on the rise, a stout defense, and all kinds of play makers. I like our chances regardless of what has happened in years past.
  20. Entitled arrogant spoiled brat gets dropped into a bad situation for the first time in his life and has to deal with adversity... zero ***** given here..
  21. There are on field guys who keep track of uniform stuff like this, those guys are the ones who have the authority to have a ref pull a player out of a game like OBJ last night. If they didn't have an issue with it then it's not an issue. I know one of the guys who does it for Bills Home Games and he said players will ask him before the game if something is alright so they don't get yanked off and fined. So OBJ doing what he did with the visor is a moron. But I am sure there is some rule that he has to wear socks, but nothing say he has to wear full socks lol. so he cuts them off, and if the rules don't explicitly say it's not allowed, he's fine.
  22. Honestly I think Mason Rudolph has a ton of potential, and he was in discussion with the other top 5 QBs in that class... since the most QB needy teams took guys, he slid, but I 100% believe if the Bills weren't able to go up and get Allen like they did, they would've taken Rudolph later in the first or with one of their 2 seconds. He's got a ton of potential, and got to sit and learn behind big Ben for a year and see how it's done. I don't think they're in as bad of shape as other people think. They are depleted without AB but their D is still really good. I think they still can win 8-9 games.
  23. Bet it, Bills -6 and take the Over fellas!!!! Bills 34 -Bungles 17
  24. Well played sir, well played.
  25. I hope he get healthy and finishes his career strong. I was happy they finally moved on from him, but the guy has been a solid NFL player for a long time, I hate seeing careers fall apart with injuries like this. It's that much more of a testament to Frank Gore and his career longevity at the RB position.
