  1. Got my first managing gig when i was 23, collection agency. high turnover, was asked to fire a few kids after a day or two because theyre too nice/shy whatever. Kinda like NFL, its performance based. Kid might come in 30mins early, make coffee, stay focused (good employee traits), friendly... but if you dont produce, theyre on waivers. Any who I had nobody teach me at all how to do it AT ALL! Talking to a buddy outside work, he says "GO WATCH MONEYBALL" LOL To this day, Jonah Hill and Brad Pitt are the ppl who taught me how to be a "turk."
  2. Thank God they blew that chance at Lawrence! Although had they landed him, that nice draft last year would've looked different. Obv they're still better off but they don't have Sauce nor Wilson (probably? I kinda forget where some of those picks came from)
  3. 1 year for a first rounder is too long now? Lol this place rules 🤣
  4. How do we know McD won't run more man? They've indicated they plan to be more aggressive, assuming that includes blitzing. Outside of that, along our playoff run we'll need a man guy for Chase/Tyreek/Kelce. You'd rather have a 4th rder than a guy that can help cover the biggest thorns in our side? So unbelievably short sighted
  5. AJE was a 2nd rder coming out of a weird draft where players didn't get regular training camps. Elam has elite measurables, played in the SEC, and was drafted knowing he was a bit of a project to fit our scheme. Depth alone he's valuable to this team this year (a SB expectation season) and that's ignoring the chance to develop a guy completely switching schemes. He's struggling to adapt, at our deepest position on the team. This would be inconceivably dumb!!! Don't hold your breath on a trade, Beane ain't that dumb either
  6. You don't unload a 1st rd pick after 1 season unless they're smoking crack on Chippewa. This is something the Browns and Texans do, not a champ team that has the depth to develop the guy. Was everyone here drinking for a preseason game??????
  7. I can't get here. Only way I trade him is a p4p swap and a zone cb, but that sounds unlikely. We knew what he was, nothings changed in 1 year. DEVELOP DEVELOP DEVELOP!!!! For now, find ways to get him on the field in situational hybrid zone/press. I'd be furious at a trade because we aren't getting chit, and we have no clue what we have. Major indictment on this staff if you throw up your hands and admit you can't develop the guy, or use him situational. Fireable offense to me just based on poor communication and draf capital usage. McD was aware of his strengths enough to have him on their first rd board. Beane isn't pulling the trigger without acknowledgement the staff can coach him up. Has the physical tools and is a cerebral player, MAKE IT WORK, OR HELL TRYYYYYY. Unbelievable
  8. Looks like Morse played 1Q maybe? Def glad to hear Edwards playing nicely. Pretty awesome to have improved starter, andddddd have the LG backup be better than last years starter as bonus
  9. too much sun today, and reading this melted my brain lol i too did not get to watch, but from the extended 10min highlights on youtube (very limited obv), it looked like the OL played well? Anybody wanna give a run down of what they saw out of Edwards, Torrence, and Brown? Loooks like they got a few more drives then Josh
  10. Heard she joined a biker gang though. knocks still look aight
  11. You're telling me, i bet $5k on the Vikings without telling mine! What an upset by the Bills!
  12. What do you want him to say? *Dealer on the lot* "this cars been a lemon, transmission is going, they've been going up in flames for fender benders. We'll need that payment in cash"
  13. I wish this didnt get moved to Off the Wall! Whos everybody have for college this weekend?
  14. Drowning. Hanging. Electrocution. Hung by ankles on a line and smashed with a bat like a pinata. The fighting is bad enough, dogs fighting is atleast 'somewhat' natural. Torturing animals in creative fashion for fun, is demented. Had it been done with a bolt or tap behind the ear to put them out of their misery, maybe there's a touch more empathy for the guy. Oh, and the killings weren't always putting down a dog gravely injured. At times it was torturing dogs to death, who had never even fought.... because they weren't aggressive enough. Dude tortures animals for fun. If that isn't setting off alarm bells I dunno what will.
  15. Remember what he did to us on Thanksgiving (or maybe weekend before) 2 years ago? Remember the teams we did not want to draw: indy/cle/Tennessee. Our personnel does not match well against the run. Actually most nfl s teams don't have great personnel to stop the run. Teams have been loading up on LBs that have gotten smaller/quicker to defend against the pass. We're seeing a few teams double down on the run to take advantage of this. Now those teams^^ have had to do it out of necessity with mediocre QBs, but I think the trend continues to grow a bit. If you're not passing well, and defenses are qued in to stopping the pass with smaller defenses... why not be the outlier and pound the rock, i.e. Giants. In no way do I think the importance of run game will ever be what it was even 5 years ago, but i think that gameplan continues to trend up the next few years
  16. If he needs another half season or season to grow into zone, I'm fine with it. In the mean time he's a nice chess piece for pressing Kelce, Tyreek, Chase. Wish we'd find a way to get him involved with some hybrid man/zone schemes like were going to need for the receivers listed above. Also, great piece to have on blitzing plays
  17. damn, we wouldnt pony up anything better than a 5th? i wouldve offered Booger and a 5th, or a 5th that converts to a 4 based on playing time
  18. I just dont understand how last year he was good enough to start. He got hurt 2nd Q of game 2, game 1 was an absolute monsoon if im remembering right. so he hasnt really played, no matter how u slice it major, major scouting problems. No way he should be behind darnold. u cant give up what they gave up for him and not find a way to get him in the game. develop him in practice, hell, create an interesting run option package to get him on the field
  19. This stinks of old guy 'athletes make too much' attitude, while completely ignoring the DEMAND and ability to generate that money. Usually this voice thinks they're standing up to the big man, when in reality, they're standing up for the enormous man (billionaires, with a B). "That's what a contract is", nonsense. What happens if a player looks like ass, does the team just pay out huge $$ while they're buried on depth chart? Nope! They cut them. It's a two way street. If a contract stinks, for anybody, the reality is one side or the other will alter it. If teams want to get players to honor their full contract no matter what, then they can talk to the NFLPA about fully guaranteed contracts.... oh wait, that won't happen in a billion years. You're arguing for the billionaires to have the advantage of a one way street lol 🤡
  20. If we think we can coach him up I be interested. Be great to have a backup with similar skills etc as Josh, barkeley and allen are nothing like 17, we completely change the offense. he'd be great for scout team offense. And again if you can coach him up, find a way to showcase him, could lead to a nice trade package. There's a lot of ifs there, but if he's available cheap, there should be interest from us
  21. Riddick has had legit looks at him as a GM. ESPN sucks, but hes one of the good guys
  22. First reaction was maybe this hurts them some, but now that I think about it, it likely helps them. Retiring at 28, at this time of year, means either: he was playing like absolute poop and was facing a cut. OR He doesn't love the game anymore. Hard to picture that being the case if he was looking sharp out there. Either of those scenarios and it's a bad contract that they just got out of. They lose some talent this year, but are better off next year with $$$
  23. Cap didnt grow as much as normal from the covid year... the next 2 years were modest bumps, I think next season really jumps to finally catch up to where it was trending pre-covid Agreed, but cant see why he would sign that lol he has all the leverage in any extension talk. If we come to the table to extend its because we need the cap room, not because we're overly worried about adding years. Hes not getting cut, so from his perspective, why would he sign anything that moves backwards, when its BUFF needing the favor. He'd just say nah, and leave the table (*never thought id type that sentence)
  24. Think Epenesa has more value on the streets. Would be willing to part with him, and a pick to sweeten it if the right OT was out there (seems like ARZ has two with Beachum and Josh Jones)... we also have communicated with them a decent amount this past offseason (DHop) so hopefully theres some mutual rapport/respect there. Either one of those would be real nice additions For whaaaat? Older guy who hit his (low) ceiling already?
  25. 1,000% agree. Thing is there are so few elite enough to meet that standard. I'd add Vita Vea to the list. Dude is a game wrecker
