  1. its a roll of the dice you want to take. most werent exactly drooling over Hurts or Herbert.... or josh lol instinct is to say i like the bears side better but teams have been wrong about this kinda thing a lot 2 - 1 = 1 huh? is that pick this year or next year lol
  2. all it means is dont act like a Friday night millionaire. if you come across someone that makes you better, not just a shiny rock, its a no brainer. filling holes before the draft makes it doubley valuable, allowing you to stay closer to a true BPA, than a BPA at positional need what context is 'any day now' coming from? rumor? EDIT: never mind, i took this wrong. JW is a child. the tweet literally says any day now, but he has to pull a "nuh-uh" like a little brat 👎
  3. a non-finesse guy like cook takes scheming to use. not saying dorsey wont improve but would be nice for him to have one dimension of the offense be a straight forward, hand in the dirt power running element. thats the "play action" that sets up a lightning runner like cook as a side benefit
  4. this is major hyperbole and is just not true! 2020 run we had beasley, he was our 'run game'. we havent had that in 2 years, and we had no traditional run game either. nobody is asking for 30 carries a game, but to pretend a complete inability to run the ball has in any way/shape/form has been good for the team is patently false. a respectable run game will not only balance the offense and keep the d honest. it gives josh better audible options at the line. im not in love w/ rb in 1st as a whole, but if we make proper moves in FA, take him and commit to an OL heavy draft 2nd and beyond, id be cool ending this run game search. was anti breece last year, but hindsight he wouldve done a lot for the team
  5. 2nd rd is mid to you? Casual lol Ate a whole 72 oz'er, those are free down in Texas. RALPH IS STILL CHEAPPPPPPPPPPPPPP
  6. In all sincerity I learn more from you as a poster than anyone else. Don't get me wrong there's some really football savvy people in here but always look forward to your mock drafts and player commentary. Helps me get my chops up before the draft. Do you have a background working with a team or scouting? I'm sure you wouldn't if involved in nfl, always kinda assumed a small college or something
  7. Good grief its fun to imagine. Josh is a gosh damb wrecking ball lol his hs coaches should be ashamed for not giving him a few redzone snaps lol
  8. doesnt really matter for a year or two atleast if this is 1 move to sure up two spots at once
  9. I took the "better than a gm" as hyperbole. Obviously I don't think we're comparing apples to apples here. However, I love the idea of seeing a record of who around here does a better job at this exercise than everyone else. For as much as everyone around here thinks everyone else is an idiot, I think it's nice to have some kind of record we can all go back to, talk some trash, debate as 1st 2nd and 3rd years pass etc
  10. @IronMaidenBills heres my criticism sandwhich. i mostly know you as the breece hall guy. i agree with your takes a little bit less than half the time (estimate here folks) and it seems like when i agree with you, i think youre the wrong person to be the messenger of that 'take' that said, coming from a fairly neutral observer, this is absolutely my fav idea for a post since season ended, and maybe of the season so far. i wish i could partake but i just do not know the prospects the way a lot do here. i read everyones draft posts, have for years, and ive learned a ton here and i think itd be cool to have running records of something like this. one for free agency. maybe all-pro picks. everyone goes on an open record, in one spot. secondly, you know how the hottest girls are always the ones thatre just a full step hotter than you, but still in your league enough to make the fantasy true? Welp that is the one and only::: jordan addison. 1st rd. buffalo bills #followingthread
  11. I cant wait till Bernard blows this boards richards into their neighboring counties next year. We red shirted a guy with instincts, athleticism and intangibles, so that he could get a year in NFL S&C, pack on quality weight and hit the ground running in 2023. Anybody can buy into Apple shares @ 150 a pop, hold it for a season, then clap their own hands when it hits 175 the year after Beane had some GME visions with his 2022 3rd rounder. "tRaDe HiM fOr A 7tH", paper-hand city in here 😆
  12. pipe dream of getting a true wr2 for oliver unless they come with an ugly cap hit
  13. even if he had the year he was supposed to i would do that to transfer value from the defense to offense (extra pick on that side). its getting to the point where in a few years I could see only 2-3 defensive players taken in the top 20, and only DE prospects. id personally be ok with never drafting def in the 1st rd again, its an offense driven league with a component of defense
  14. well measured take. exactly where im at and most fans should be, imo
  15. This makes me sad. I dont even think it means anything past that moment, but just makes me sad to see thats to where this team was brought by the end of the season from hell.
  16. More important IG question: Wonder if he follows Rachel Bush's IG...... I know he's certainly taken a peak lol but does he actually follow it? Great follow, headed there now that i think about it... her... no, it
  17. He wont. His bestfriend is his qb, and he has no leverage. Youre not going to strong arm your way out with a 30m dead cap hit overhead. Besides those two, I absolutely believe he still loves it here. He's frustrated over a rookie OC, and a way beyond normal stressful 12mos. Neither one of those repeats next year. He'll be fine
  18. Yes us soft bleeding heart millenials raised on South Park, Bevis & Butthead, and dial up internet erotica, are certainly soft 😆
  19. obv not the player he used to be and easy to throw out a "hearda him," dont think hes a number two, no delusion there. given his experience anybody think we look to add a vet role player, realistic contract, providing ring chance like Sanders or our attempt at Bolden? Seems like a player that would draw some Beane attention, week 2 of FA kinda deal?
  20. Dear God this makes me want to see it lol the tears on both sides of that feud would be top shelf delicioussssssssssss
  21. I dont think most here care who's greedy in terms of compensation. Theres 3 things going on here 1. Lamar not being able to carry a team while taking up as much cap space as qb's who are actually able to be a threat from the pocket 2. The guy is no good to a team if hes never healthy. Hes past that point of healing like kids do, this is going to get worse 3. The people who are hostile about calling him greedy are salty at the idea of him skipping playoffs games where 31 other qb's start those games. Hell theres been several current and former players to point this out (not even counting boo-boo foot here) If a pocket passer like Brees cant carry a team on his back with such a large salary cap %, theres next to 0% chance Lamar will. If someone else signs him, its going to be an owner looking to sell tickets for a few years, not a perennial winning org
  22. We just dont play rookies to our own damn detriment (exponentially). Lets use Gabe as an example. Small playing time as a rookie, made nice plays, wouldve liked to see more and help him grow. Year 2, sits behind old ass WR who kills drives for us. Finally, late season, he gets the reins, looks great, and has a 3 (4?) td game. Welp, we couldve used that that year. Gabe couldve used the playing time to learn, too little too late. Last year, fully expected to be a stud based on a small body of work. Then we all know what happened. Dude barely had a chance to learn the game two years/grow. Year 3, we do nothing to address the position assuming what we think is a stud. We know how that went. Imagine if we'd given him time to learn, we dicked around with his development so much, it stunted him, we made a dumb decision based on a small body of work. Caused us to ignore the position. Seems like steady playing time for two years would've solved a lot of this! We failed to develop and properly scout our own players abilities because of it. Now its year 4, we've wasted his rookie contract, and certainly have another conundrum about paying him if he has an above average year as a #2. Hes going to want to get paid, and we wont have the proper body of work to properly decide on if he's then worth #2 money. Lessen learned! *Year 1 Shakir enters room to the sound of breaking glass, strobe lights, fog machines* Elam. Cook. Moss.
  23. milano wasnt someone we could trade. he leaves, we need a new system, or another high pick LB replacement (would anyone have liked that scenario?). we got rid of one starting LB, now we need two. milano and maine are asked to do a lot on this defense, paying them: a. allows us to run the defense we prefer b. at the time, pay one 'super backer' solid money, instead of pay an avg salary to two more LB's, to play next to edmunds that contract was a no brainer at the time. for the same reasons he was valuable to us, is the same reason his trade value wouldve been worth chit. nobody is trading good picks for LBs, especially to have to pay them, andddddd proli change your defense to maximize the trade
