  1. Great post. Our HC is becoming a big boy right in front of our eyes. Seriously though, I hope thios works out and his assessment is right. Wish we had some more experience on the offensive side to help Dorsey though. Bummer we lost Joe Brady (right name? Car OC that was fired 2 years ago?), I think we did? Or is he still here? Couldve swore that was a 1 yr deal for him to get his feet back under him
  2. Whats OT stand for? I've seen it a lot lately. Wrote it off as typo, but i think it means something im not privy to now lol
  3. I'll be honest here. Im only aware at a topical level of what a HC responsibilities include. Like any career, im sure most ppl would be surprised at the things needed to do their job correctly. (Anybody whos started a new job can relate to "oh wow, i never realized they had to do X" feeling) Anyone able to link a good article or make a semi detailed post listing the main things a coach does day to day? I think itd make for an interesting topic, where everyone can learn something. If I were to make an educated guess, it would be alonng the lines of coaching the coaches. Evaluating coordinators and positions coaches. Kind of acting as a CPU for the staff, but thats a pretty vague idea. Bonus points for anyone that can post or explain a GMs day to day responsibilities. Ive looked for youtube videos and articles and havent found much
  4. Hopefully he delegates some of the simple stuff elsewhere. Id rather have him handling the defense than things like timeouts/reviews, things anyone competent could do. I realize these are only a small part of his job, but simple delegations should go to the help
  5. Yep. McD is a good defensive coach, and this takes away any delegating blame. If it goes well, he buys a little more respect from the fans and he'll have a full offseason to make a quality DC happen, before meats picked off the bones. But so help me God, if that happens and Leslie comes back, this place will melt dooooooown
  6. I typically dont wish well for Chief fans but good for him lol Gamepass subscription is a lot cheaper when you get outside the states anyways
  7. Oh wow, interesting. Wonder what some of the options are for a team to offer that would kill Balt here. Obv that $270m he wants, but theres probably other ways. Maybe a team is crazy enough to do $60m x 3 or something like that
  8. Pics? For definitely not weird reasons Are we past the point of Lamar playing for Balt though? Lets say the above $45mx3 years were offered by ATL. Lamar wants to take it, Ravens match it. Can Lamar then refuse it, or does him signing an ATL offer sheet trigger him to also accepting Ravens matching offer?
  9. Love all these signings. I don't think it means dismissing these positions all together, but allows the board to fall to us. Full BPA is a myth, maybe you reach a smidgen for a position you definitely need before. This takes a bunch of stress off draft day, if the value isn't there at position of need. Also allows you to maybe take a gamble on a guy with higher ceiling lower floor. Tl:Dr- options options options. Lots of them.
  10. Complex probs require complex solutions. The only way this works is Lamar works out a shorter term deal, like the one he rejected from Balt. What was it like 3yrs, $135m (@45/year)? He can save a bit of face, signing it with a new team. Seems like he'd be better off taking that to stay in Balt, but ego and hurt feelings won't allow it, IMO
  11. Interesting, thanks. It's no surprise that Lamar is soured. Have to think the landscape of the league would be absurdly different if every player did this. Agents are rubbers, Lamar hit raw, and now has 🔥 pee lol 'Wrap it in latex or shes taking your paychecks' Ahahahaha
  12. Ahhh ok. Sounds like their is a work around to the 2 firsts though. Work out trade compensation, Lamar world out a contract, Lamar signs the tag, which allows the trade to happen for whatever picks were negotiated.
  13. It really is Leveon, just with higher stakes. He should be chilling relaxing, instead his offseason is full of high stress. Not really ideal for him. Aside from the $$, that's another great reason to have an agent. Keeps feelings in check. There are things negotiation wise that a player would be better off not hearing, that an agent can deal with. Hearing from the team direct, we think your a top 5 qb, but from being #1 in mobility, and #10 in passing, is a good example. Stay outta the hardball part of negotiating
  14. The two 1sts is likely a hang up. I think if it were a 1st and then a 2 or 3, or some pick package, might motivate other potential buyers. I dont think Lamar is going to play on the tag, Ravens might call his bluff, but it seems like a better outcome for everyone if a trade gets done. Id think Balt would rather take a first and 2nd/3rd or whatever, then continue down this road. Seems like the tag is handcuffing them if thats what they want to do
  15. Was that the dude with the gun charge? 3rd rder I believe? Yikes
  16. Could the Ravens do a 1 day/ $1 contract to get around that? Seems like there are some creative solutions here. Its so weird to handcuff a team to their own detriment, when the tag was a measure that was supposed to give teams leverage. If Balt, Team X, and Lamar are all on the same page about a deal, why would the NFL split hairs and block it? Weird
  17. I think this is the nail in the coffin of him sitting this year out. Only way he plays is if hes willing to sign a deal like the Ravens offered previously, which was what? Like 3 years fully guaranteed? Then you kinda know you wont be able to sign him once that expires. Now he's three years older, his value is down again lol what a mess, hes playing his way out of the league. Would not shock me in the least if weve seen the last of him on a field.
  18. The only way possible this ever becomes the norm, is if somehow QB contracts are separated from the salary cap. the money itself isnt the problem here, its the salary cap consequences. that will never happen either. qbs make up a very small % of players in the nfl. i cant see the rest of players being willing to accept the concessions that would be required for this. it would turn into a microcosm of our country, destruction of the middle class, so that QBs can boost their already astronomical contracts. none of this will happen. down the road it doesnt seem like Bengals owner can afford a fully guaranteed deal from my understanding. thats going to be a very interesting negotiation to watch, with hugeeeeee ramifications of all deals going forward. you can have long term, or you can have guaranteed, but you cant have both. i just cant see it, and especially not with a non pocket qb
  19. Cant the Ravens revoke the tag and just negotiate their own deal at this point though? Seems like a silly thing for the NFL to block. The two 1sts is there to protect the team that used the tag, if they want to negotiate for something less, it seems weird to stop them from doing it. I dont think it sets a precedent that takes away value of the tag for other teams down the road. weird
  20. I think people who say well be in cap trouble 2 years out have rebuild in their heads. we arent nor would we be the Rams. a reset year now is more fun than any season we had 15yrs before josh. as long as hes here, FAs will want to come here. we'll always be competitive You are a saint doing Gods work lol THANK YOU!!!!!!!
  21. Diggs in slot, Gabe and DHop on the outside. Gabe would absolutely be a studddddddd #3. Its hard to be a #2 and only have deep routes. Look how many times Brandin Cooks has been traded, theyre just low % plays by nature
  22. I think ppl forget just how much Cam was running the ball in the redzone his first 5 years. He led the team in RZ carries for a few years, and there were ALOTTTT. No attempts to slide or get out, was one of the most aggressive contact seekers in recent memory. Josh can and does do that, but I dont think theyre in the same ball park of how often that was JMO
  23. If it were just us doing it I would be more on board with this... but its across the league and that Sunday ticket deal should bring cap up a **** ton. My next point is, in 2 years we might need a mini reset anyways, Poyer Hyde Miller, Diggs isnt set in stone. Even with all that, how bad is a 1 yr reset w/ Josh under center. Maybe we eat $$ on skill players retiring/leaving. Josh will always have us sniffing playoffs, and we wont need a full rebuild IMO. Keep Josh, keep any pillars we have on OL/DL, 1 year reset would go a long way IF we even need it with the cap thats about to explode. I can live w/ that. A 9-8 season isnt going to kill anyone here I still havent figured out how to do this on PC grrrrrrrrrrrrrr
  24. im guessing the high turnover of picks. that year they get all those picks for Khalil, they all busted. have had another front office shakeup since then too
