  1. Riddick has had legit looks at him as a GM. ESPN sucks, but hes one of the good guys
  2. First reaction was maybe this hurts them some, but now that I think about it, it likely helps them. Retiring at 28, at this time of year, means either: he was playing like absolute poop and was facing a cut. OR He doesn't love the game anymore. Hard to picture that being the case if he was looking sharp out there. Either of those scenarios and it's a bad contract that they just got out of. They lose some talent this year, but are better off next year with $$$
  3. Cap didnt grow as much as normal from the covid year... the next 2 years were modest bumps, I think next season really jumps to finally catch up to where it was trending pre-covid Agreed, but cant see why he would sign that lol he has all the leverage in any extension talk. If we come to the table to extend its because we need the cap room, not because we're overly worried about adding years. Hes not getting cut, so from his perspective, why would he sign anything that moves backwards, when its BUFF needing the favor. He'd just say nah, and leave the table (*never thought id type that sentence)
  4. Think Epenesa has more value on the streets. Would be willing to part with him, and a pick to sweeten it if the right OT was out there (seems like ARZ has two with Beachum and Josh Jones)... we also have communicated with them a decent amount this past offseason (DHop) so hopefully theres some mutual rapport/respect there. Either one of those would be real nice additions For whaaaat? Older guy who hit his (low) ceiling already?
  5. 1,000% agree. Thing is there are so few elite enough to meet that standard. I'd add Vita Vea to the list. Dude is a game wrecker
  6. I will say in the last 2 seasons weve seen a bit of an uptick (albeit from an all time low) in RB's being relevant. The league is always trying to counter trends. Were seeing more nickel and dime defenses then ever, the Brandon Spikes LB'er is extinct, and it seems like LB'er cores are getting smaller and faster, to account for heavy passing league. NE last year and Indy/TN/CLE the year before are two teams that had major emphasis on the run game. I wont claim to know if that trend continues to grow. I do remember 2 years ago not wanting to draw one of Indy/TN/Cle in wild card because of exactly this..... just food for thought
  7. Serious question here. What are the different ways *NFL* HCs handle things like undisciplined penalties from players? -Can't fine them, don't know that'd be a good option even if you could -There's running laps. Pretty universal, but many would think that's soft. (Runs small risk of belittling players, i.e. Urban Meyer) -Can obviously reduce playing time especially RBs WRs, but what about OL? Hard to bench (and a bit nuclear this early) a DDawk for a series, cutting of nose to spite face. -Position coach/Hc can call them out during film I know each situation calls for different options, but am I missing anything? How do players get held accountable? Anybody a little more in the know have some nuance to add? At this point I'm just as curious from an overall league perspective, not just Buffalo
  8. He was a 7th rd pick and has been an above average depth piece. It's early pre season, you probably weren't even watching the game, it was national media watching who probably were hearing their first media updates of the new season about him. There's been a major spike in people taking CPR Classes. Did you come home from work early and find him in your bed? If not, you should seriously chill out. Good grief dude
  9. I'm sure we also suspect this and, as always, should be coached up on this ahead of time. Sure certain players get away more than others, but the refs have to worry about their jobs and league perception too. The easiest way to lose is to come out and play like choir boys, while they stretch out our WRs jerseys. Come out aggressive too, and be ready to switch up if whistles come out heavy
  10. Meh, while it does restrict somewhat, whats stopping a team from giving the Watson type contract, $1m this year, then pump up the next 2-4 years of contract + GUARANTEED $$
  11. Curious if this could happen.... NOT even talking about here, but was a spit-balling take from Cover2. Say no teams were willing to trade and give a new contract, is it possible a team could offer to put in writing that they would NOT franchise tag him... just as the next best incentive for him as opposed to a new contract. Just, we want your services for the year, we cant afford you, but to keep you happy/motivated, you'll get a chance to chase $$ as an Unrestricted next year? Would just be interesting to see that precedent set, because anytime we see this situation most of the top dawg teams are immediately ruled out because of cap concerns. Basically, can a team even offer a 'no franchise tag' clause? Has that happened before?
  12. speaking of the Darby to the wolves theory, i havent gone back to watch, likely wont.... but saw a few others suggest Brown was being asked to handle TJ 1 on 1 all day. Hoping thats true and part of the struggle. We still have time to correct things. Dawkins looking fat this time every year is starting to grate on me. Stay in shape! Training camp isnt time to take the training wheels off. Show up in respectable shape conditioning wise, and not distracted with trying to get your weight down. All focus should be on GEL'ing and setting an example for the new/young guys, you're a pro, act like it.
  13. Kinda dig Detroit Season Opener at +240. High offense scoring. Early season when games can be a lil weird. Gunna wait till closer to gametime when those odds would payout better. KC has also "struggled' early the last few years a bit
  14. I won't fully freak out. Steelers DL is no joke, even vanilla. It's not what I wanted to see but atleast it wasn't Chicago/Arizona doing it to us. We failed to get in a rhythm for a short time frame, it happens. Real game woulda had few more quarters to get cohesive. I'll be worried if we have 4quarters like that. Grasping at straws here, but remember when they threw Darby to the wolves intentionally... scheme up a tough game plan to see how he responds. Maybe there was some of that going on too. They'll be ready week 1, or they better be!
  15. Lol boxing nicknames for football players is goofy unless it comes extremely naturally That said, sounds like you need to enact your screen name soon here. Swole Beasley is funny af though
  16. It's just Kink or DK2
  17. Either all these people collaborated to get him, or this is 99.9% B-S This all sounds fabricated or twisted. My guess is the "drugged and robbed" turns out to "just" be the drug dealer. I won't shed tears for them, but this is all BS sticking 10 fishing lines in and hoping anything bites. All the trucker infractions sound like when a cop is pissed and wants to give you 10 bs tickets, except to an even worse degree. Brakes were 1/20th inch off Tires had 31.5psi 57 in 55 Etc etc etc
  18. please do, would be cool to follow along
  19. Redundant to mention this at this point, but lawyers know no shame. Good grief. Suing the driver is loooooow. Even if it was a straight up suicide that guy will never get hired as a trucker, due to insurance knowing of a fatality, even if completely not at fault. So the lawyers now want go take $$ from him after losing his career 🤢🤢🤢
  20. wish this was true. article headline made it sound like Eagles were serving up some street justice to he who not be named..... but honestly it ended up sounding like it was just a very chippy practice all around. still nice to have live bullets flying around him, but headline was a bit click baity
  21. 100% this. He's literally the first person I think of when I think about the '99 Cup run. Game 1 OT "JASON WOOLEY, SHOT HEARD ROUND THE WORLD!!!" I was a very young Buffalo sports fan by then, but that run radicalized my sports Fandom. Not a sad day for me, celebration of the biggest Buffalo sports voice of my childhood!!! (Lil too young for Van Miller)
  22. What I'm most confused on, for so many reasons, is why we would just openly declare Williams won't start? Such a weird thing to do. Even if it's 100% sure, why announce it? Seems demotivating to me, leave the carrots dangling at minimum
  23. If we're making a trade I would much rather seek OL depth. If he didn't play for LSU and Baltimore, ppl would be calling him a bust.
  24. Anybody know? Shakir was known to have great hands coming out of the draft wasnt he? I know, so did Zay, but i think context matters. Is this a flukey baseball cold streak type things with his hands, or is there a fundamental problem with his catching a la Gabe Clappy Davis?
  25. Hartys contract tells me he is a lock, that contract also tells me theyve already wrote his skillset into playbook. Havent seen any reason to cut him. Short of his play all the sudden being disatstrous, he makes the team. Sherfield is big/physical and more NFL ready then the other big WR's, atleast for the 2023 season, and a HUGE plus for him is his blocking. Him and Gabe out on running plays is going to be very nice! As far as Shakir goes, I cant see them giving up on him this fast, especially with the positive flashes we've seen. Im far away from saying that we have an elite WR room.... but i think all these guys bring a unique skill set that compliment the team and each other. JMHO
