McDermott in animated discussion with Roseman?

Weird. WTH could this have been about. Eagles clearly want to keep it, im very much assuming we do as well??? I cant see how this topic would get heated -
Wide Receiver Train Full Speed Ahead- CHOO CHOO!
BillsShredder83 replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
Regular season stats mean nothing. We left a lot of points on the bone in AFCCG. Its easier to predict "buying" points, than it is to pay to stop them. You think if we went defense on every pick the next 2 years, we're gunna be in the vicinity of Eagles defense? Cause thats the defense its gunna take to win on that side of the ball with McDermott vs Reid. Im not saying ignore defense, or even go light on defense. First priority needs to be getting Josh a true #1, however you have to do that, doesnt matter. We have a chit ton of extra picks, and all of next years. IDENTIFY THE WR YOU WANT, GO GET HIM.... THEEEEEN USE EVERY PICK ON DEFENSE AFTER THAT IF YOU WANT!! Get me a stud #1, and then im stoked to draft a badarse DT. CB. DE. Go BPA at DT, CB, DE with every pick after. Wonderful. I'll be stoked to see the defense improve, but until we get Josh a guy who can decide hes going to be open despite whatever coverage is coming his way... our seasons will continue to end in heartbreaking close games. Year, after, year. -
Wide Receiver Train Full Speed Ahead- CHOO CHOO!

100% this. WR on this team is the only position that can provide an absolute Hiroshima of synergy!! 1 + 1 = 10 Go get Josh an elite #1 again. I dont really care what it takes if its the right guy. So frustrating to have not done it last year, but I get crap happens. We just can not enter another season without a #1 WR. We have a high end #2. Then, with development realistically we could have a few guys worthy of being a true #3. Turn every stone for a trade for a veteran stud. Or identify a stud in the draft, go up and get him. Work the phones and take a gamble to trade up mid-way now..... and draft day make another move to go get your guy. I know that sounds crazy, but put an AJ Brown on this team. We got atleast 1 chip, pushing for #2 this year. We saw the type of defense it took to stop Mahomes. We are not 1 or even 2 drafts away from having that kinda defense. Anything less that 2024 PHI defense isnt winning you a chip. Josh having a true #1, has us win that AFCCG buy 2 touchdowns. We stay out of the 3rd and longs. Make Spagnola dedicate serious resources outside the hashes. We have no outside threat. So they stack the box, and hover over the middle.... then were forced to run the ball into run prevent type defense... and throw the ball to middle of field. IT PLAYS INTO THEIR HAND. Go get a #1 1 + 1 = 10 -
Wide Receiver Train Full Speed Ahead- CHOO CHOO!

The only way to make need match value (aka BPA): A. Sheer f'n luck B. Trading up C. Regular Trade "A" for a WR ould be dope, but very unlikely. "B" & "C" make the most sense. I dunno that theres value in trading up in the 1st round, but maybe they see something I don't. So maybe in day 2 or later. C - may be a good option. I'm not looking for a Julio Jones in his prime type trade, but if somebody ends up deeper at the position than needed, and we can make a draft day trade, my panties would be soaked. WTF did AJ Brown go for 2-3 years ago? I remember thinking it wasn't nuts, and hard to argue Eagles didn't win that trade. Now, who?? Noooo clue. -

This is a great philosophy. G2 disagree with the RB in the 3rd though. Its a non-issue for us at #30, but if Jeanty is sitting there, I'm 100% sprinting to podium, taking him, and unloading Cook to recoup draft capital + save $$. No 2nd contracts on RB is a good theory for 95% of Backs. The board has been over the exceptions, high level dual-threat guys who catch the ball a ton. CMC. Saquan. I understand the argument on Cook, but im not doing $15m and especially not more than 1-2 years. I just think if your strategy is no 2nd contract, you g2 be willing to take a truly superior talent IF IT PRESENTS ITSELF. Especially at the end of rd 1 or rd2. Im not taking any back in the top half of rd1 though. Its not 2015, RB's are effective AF in the NFL right now. Build line first, but if you can polish the run game off with gnarly back, im doing it. -
NFL makes the "nose swipe" gesture illegal
BillsShredder83 replied to The Firebaugh Kid's topic in The Stadium Wall
This stinks of grandma on FB thinks the OK symbol means 'white power'. I mean IDC, i wont miss it, but wouldnt be the NFL if they didnt over-react to something silly -
He'll be fine the short time hes there. He starts to become unruly after 3 years. Dude built quick chemistry w/ teammates year 1, and i think he'll be model citizen. The flip side, Diggs is a route technician and exactly the guy i want Hunter learning from if im the Pats..... now am i intentionally choosing that contract to have him mentor Hunter? No. But he'll be fine this year, next too, and they'll move on. Bet him and Hunter hit it off and exchange some crucial knowledge. ... but that doesnt fit the (understandably) salty jilted ex-lover theme here. Dude gave us his best years, was awesome to watch 2.5 years at minimu, gave it his all.... but hes a mentally ill person. Strikes me as a guy you can never spend too much time with or things will go sour. Ive been around people like that, the thing that makes them so fun at first is, unfortunately, the opposite knives edge that makes him unable to maintain relationships. Try not to take it so personally

The Worthy Trade Keeps Looking Worse and Worse
BillsShredder83 replied to Bills Costa Rica's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not that this makes this a smart decision, but im pretty sure dude made more than that his last year at Texas w/ NIL's/sponsorships. Doesnt mean go all Jay Leno, but saying hes worth 800k isnt accurate either -
Bills had the best free agent class according to ESPN
BillsShredder83 replied to BILLS55's topic in The Stadium Wall
Idk/dont care who wrote this. Firstly, weird metric to count re-signing players towards FA class... at least from a news point of view... thats more the way Id expect our FO to look at a class, so maybe thats a cool progressive way to view it, and I can accept we did pretty good from there. If were just counting FA, I dont think were #1, and not because we didnt go flashy Davante Adams, who most of these articles would anoint the best FA class. We had a Poyer/Hyde offseason that was under the radar and was best FA class that year. Im splitting hairs a bit on how he defines FA class I guess, so I can get on-board'ishhhh. But the bolded: EEEEEEKKKKKK. This smells like a guy only reading headlines. I dont think we signed him to fill the #4 or #5 WR role, disingenuous at worst. Uninformed at best. Obviously that contract for #4/5 role would be an overpay LOL Beane expects this dude to start as an outside WR or bare minimum compete heavily for the role, and to think otherwise is insane to me. Trash writers. Trash network. I've had more informative football talks at the urinal with my **** in my hand at any bar in Buffalo, than what this jag writer has to say -
Wide Receiver Train Full Speed Ahead- CHOO CHOO!
BillsShredder83 replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
I like that. Big dude. Not being asked to be the flashiest receiver out there. ST's guy, I cant say I KNOW, but usually those are the guys willing to do grimey work. Use that big-arse body and become a run blocking beast.... make the occasional catch situationally. I know he's tall, do I remember hearing he was kind of a deep ball guy without the high end speed? Hollins did that well. Hopefully he rubbed off on Shavers. What a great example of a guy who has made a career from always living at the bottom of a receiver room, but finding ways to stay employed. No snark, im serious. Living that low down the totem pole, knowing you have to cut out your own role to stay on a team/ in the NFL. Live ferociously on the LOS! Play ST's! Make yourself un-expendable, and went and earned himself a nice contract!! I'd prefer Shavers wear shoes and wash his hands, but if I were him, having had a year with Mack really should be the ultimate example and blessing on your career! -
Keon Coleman FaceTimes Josh Allen - Funny
BillsShredder83 replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hey, it'll feel that much cooler if it works out. People kinda forget, myself included..... after 2 full seasons, this was still the narrative around Josh in a loose'ish way. "Man this kids cool and likeable, it'd be awesome if 'that' kinda guy became THE HIM we need" Season 3 kicked in--- by week 3, we knew we had a superstar. Dude kept his head down, stayed humble, worked on his craft How freaking sweet was the fruit of that labor! I do think this offseason is going to be Keon's biggest reflection on how he will turn out. It really would not shock me if he's completely dedicated to prove the doubters wrong. I think he has that 'IT' inside him. No wife, no kids, eat and sleep playing ball. Dude sees and hears all the doubt. Hopefully Josh is in his ear, telling him what he went through. I know he has a goofy attitude, but I think he really cares about proving people wrong. Thats at least half the puzzle.... I'll be honest, Gabe Davis had 'IT' too. Just didn't work out for whatever reason. Hopefully Keon does, he could be a unique weapon -
Former Bill, Marcellus Wiley accused of rape
BillsShredder83 replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeeeep. I know isht like this happens, but if you wait 30 years to do something the cops cant prove or disprove anything. Im not for tearing down peoples reputations without them being given a chance to fight....... in court these girls have no chance. In public Marcell is now a "rap-e-ist" in a non-insignigicant amount of peoples eyes. Test: find someone to do the 1 word association game with and say "Duke lacrosse". Those boys were COMPLETELY exonerated 100%. Were on a sports forum, and I bet someone reading this right now is thinking "they were?" Yes, they were. The accuser is in jail for killing her bf. IDK how we solve the problem, but I know 30years is too long. i also know when 2 drunk adults meet at the bar and consensually get down; one party doesnt get to wake up/change mind their mind retroactively after the fact, and say the other is an R-word. The bar to use that word is so low now, that it doesnt mean anything to hear anymore. That word used to be able to insta-mute a whole room of people, just by showing up -
It’s time for a generational talent, blue chipper
BillsShredder83 replied to Vickveto's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'll bet you one Sean McDermott their answer is Hunter all dayyyyyyyyy, and while hes not my favorite NFL prospect, its hard to deny what he brings to the table and our needs -
Too bad for him honestly. His BS really cost him the most in the very end... I ALWAYS THOUGHT he would be able to age well with the sport. hes a route technician, never a speedster guy, when Hill loses a step hes going to fall off a cliff.... but Stef had to be a jerk and scare teams off.... then tearing his ACL at 30 or 31.... weve seen how long it takes guys in their prime to bounce back. 2025 is a wash before its even started.... next year hes what 32? While likely having a sub 500 yard year this year. with threat of an attitude.... while wanting to be paid like hes the same.... nothing going in his favor, and hes going 2 be the last to accept it

Hoecht and Ogunjobi 6 game suspension for PEDs
BillsShredder83 replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
Kinda makes sense in Beanes FA approach, Hoecht's suspension was priced in to the contract already. Might've felt the suspension put him into a price range we couldn't have afforded without the suspension. He doesn't mind taking in a guy like Bosa at a 1year bargain price $12m, roll the dice a bit, maybe we get 1 healthy year out of it... next year we cant afford him, and get a fat comp pick. Like buying a Lambo with a dent in the door. Bet hes pretty PO'd with Oogabuji though! I could see verbiage being built into a contract where if a player knows about a suspension and doesnt disclose it, they have an out. -

BillsShredder83 replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
LOL not at you as much as all fans. these guys are all juiced to the gills. some guys can afford the 1 step ahead no test existing type stuff, other guys are stuck taking stuff thats been around long enough theyve developed a test for recently. very likely couldve been something that was new when they started it, had a longer half-life on, labs got their hands on that substance, developed a new test for it, and cant clear it from their system in time because of a long detection time. Either way, shocking as it is.... these 275-350lb 6ft 5" men that run 4.5s 40's, and squat 650lbs are on drugs LOL in other news: 100lb 5'2" women with DD+ have fake cans and body counts that rival the Red Army in WW2 🤯 Lets hope that new contracts gets them linked up with some top chemists -
seems unlikely, however, the longer he goes unsigned the more likely i could see him back here. I dont believe were uninterested, and vice versa him with us... he wants to check his value, and knowing Beane he said something along the lines of, we dont want to insult you with what were looking to spend, we enjoyed you here... go chase that bag, and if you dont find the right opportunity you have an open door here.

NFL is considering some rule changes in 2025
BillsShredder83 replied to ryguy101's topic in The Stadium Wall
Chip in the ball (both ends), chip on the field every 5-10 yards. Some algo that can help spot the difference. Not an every play thing, challengable or available to refs when they cant see inside a scrum But im highly regarded lol probably talking out my arse. You have 32 franchises valued over a billion, where theres a will theres a way LOL -
No doubt, Yes I would've! Which is why Im genuinely asking, what an Assistant GM of 2 years can do to make somebody outside a Front Office "like" a guy like that? I know its hard to tell on a forum, but 0 snark, 100% curiosity. Especially after a lot of us feeling like we "liked" Schoen, and then seeing him perform. We have no real body of work to judge with these guys realistically. How can a fan have any clue if they like an assistant-anything FO guy, whos only been with 1 team. Seems like the full analysis boils down to -is the head GM good? I know this reads snarky (especially on TBD), but I'm just trying to figure out the metrics behind something like that. Do we ever even hear those guys speak? If theres an angle I'm missing for analysis, Id love to be privy to it. I find Front Offices highly intriguing, and I think a ton of it is the shroud of mystery! Giants Hard Knocks was by far and away, lightyears cooler to me, than any other season!!

NFL is considering some rule changes in 2025
BillsShredder83 replied to ryguy101's topic in The Stadium Wall
This^^^. The no surprise onside elimination was stuuuupid. I get it, its a physical play... but how many onsides did this rule change stop the whole season? 4? Across the 32 team schedule. The not knowing when at least gave it some strategy. They jacked all this up to stop 4 instances of - Sean Payton SB Halftime type kicks? STOOOOPIDDDDD ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I'm not fully opposed to the "4th and x" idea all together, as the onside kick has become completely worthless (NFL's own doing *eyeroll*). I think implementing it could be done fairly easily: What was the onside kick recovery % prior to the rule change? Let's say 5%. Now we have our target rate. NOW: Examine every 4th and Long (over 15yds), well call it "4th and X", from the past 5-10 years.... Solve for X: When X is <= 5%. Boom! You've got you're number. Onside Kick is now "4th and X" If I were taking an educated guess I'd bet its something like "4th and ~22" -

BillsShredder83 replied to ryguy101's topic in The Stadium Wall
Wait, wait! Is this the same thing we knew like 2-3 weeks ago??? Where the chip can measure FROM WHERE THE *REF* SPOTS THE BALL. Or is this further expanding on what we heard a few weeks ago, and these HAWKEYE cameras can help spot a first down live/on review? Suttle diference here... but one of these would've fixed Chiefs AFCCG debacle, and the other wouldn't. The one they rolled out few weeks ago, I could not possible give less of a s*** about! I'm not worried about incompetence in a crews ability to measure with a chain, a fixed tangible object..... this "fix" does NOT settle any problems (chain measurement has NEVER been a problem). In fact it CREATES problems! I trust the chain more than "yep hawk camera eye says its good, no need to measure" on close plays. The problem, is DOGS**T SPOTS OF THE BALL. Not only on the sneak, or Kincaid's previous 3rd down play..... but that video circulated showing Cook not getting a first down, from 1st and 10, on a 12yard run! It was dogs**t all day!!! I'm pissed off all over again. I'd rather they left it unaddressed all together if they're not going to do it right. Obviously as a Bills fan, but from an NFL fan, this **** is ridiculous!!!!! Ever rule tinker introduces less faith and more objectivity into the game -
Flawed argument though. Without Josh where are we picking in the draft each year? 14ish is a lot easier to nail draft than 29-30th. Obviously nobody is trading Josh to move up 10-20 slots in a draft class, but it's not an apples to apples comparison like you're suggesting.
-
I don't care about the position at all. Obviously don't overdraft non premium positions, but we need to be all in on a TRUE BPA. there's not a position other than qb (and maybe tackle but only in first round) that's off limits if im Beane. We need bonafide difference makers, and we need to get set ourselves up to get cheaper down the road.
