  1. A wall, in my opinion, is the equivalent of a bandaid to any immigration problem. It is 2019, people will enter into the country in other ways (ignoring the fact that they will likely find a way to get across a wall-guarded border). The vast majority of illegal immigrants I have come across came over in a plane. Again, I would rather direct the money in other ways to address the border. I was just listing off random things to explain what I meant by opposite stance than trump on immigration (because of your immature comment about what opposite meant as if you didn't know what I was referring to...). I am not relating these to the shutdown. And I believe in those things because I believe it is a human right to be able to be safe and live in a different country, regardless of whether or not it benefits Americans (immigration is perhaps my most leftist view). And I do think that those things benefit Americans by introducing new cultures and diversity. But again, I value people more than americans.
  2. They don't care about embarrassment. They care about $$$$$$$ and aren't going to stop, unfortunately.
  3. Yea, I just can't get worked up over it anymore. I think the state of news (in just about all forms; the major TV stations and social media) is highly troubling. The reporting on this video doesn't seem to be anything out of the daily ordinary. I was just saying that my post was not about the media, and was solely about the original video not being very problematic. Police Academy
  4. Yea, I am not arguing about that. I was just saying the original video wasn't very concerning. Getting annoyed at the media's portrayal is fine and can be concerning if you want.
  5. I wouldn't argue against the fact that some walls and physical barriers would be effective. But what is it, 6 billion dollars worth? That is sophomoric and I would put the money towards other immigration-related expenses. As to your second sentence, whatever you say (I don't think you are trying to have a conversation with that). I am just saying that my immigration stance would be considered opposite of trump. I believe in a vast expansion of asylum immigration, pro-DACA, and believe in a reasonable and easily obtainable path towards legal immigration.
  6. Yea I got that, maybe my original post wasn't clear. But yea, the original video was concerning taken together with the news stories. It's just after I saw the video, I didn't see what the issue was. And believe me, if I saw harassment, I'm the type to judge and form reasonable and unreasonable opinions!
  7. I remember seeing the headlines about a build-a-wall chant and harassment, but I watched the video and say the high school just smile. The only thing those kids did that was obnoxious was act like teenagers (which is without a doubt obnoxious, don't get me wrong)
  8. I don't fully agree with you, but I think replacing alpha male with bully makes a lot more sense. Bullies are often not well liked by anyone (lack leadership) and can be extremely mentally weak. Yea I remember bullying some people in middle school (I wouldnt of called myself a bully though). I regret that and wouldn't do that again, but I think I have grown as a leader.
  9. That's a better take at least. You thinking bullies are alpha males is pretty laughable.
  10. I wish I could have a good discussion about that, but I don't know. Sanders, Warren, and Harris are all so goofy. Biden? Come on. Oh, and I assure you it won't be civil and about the issues. My guess is the Democratic nominee will be who can rally up the hate for trump the best, which might be Harris? Gross
  11. No doubt, but this political climate is anything but predictive (or reasonable!). I'm liberal, but if I had to choose I would label Trump as the favorite to win.
  12. No bullies don't. If you value strong will, mental strength, and leadership, a bully isn't who you should seek. You might want to look beyond the exterior of a bully. And thinking we have a ***** ton of bullies winning us wars is such a goofy take.
  13. I think it's going to be a close race no matter who they run, just pointing out that our pool of candidates (on both sides) has been awful lately. I think trump is going to rally his base extremely well for a great turn out, but I think the left is also going to be energized. I wouldn't want to have to put money on this bet
  14. The conspiracy stuff is ridiculous as always (though it can be entertaining!). Hope she gets better soon!
  15. What an unlikable group of potential candidates, again.
  16. It's just that a wall is such a sophomoric attempt to curb the immigration problem in the county. I have the opposite stance on immigration than trump, but if I was in his shoes, I wouldn't be gunning for a wall.
  17. I'm extremely liberal, but even the original video didn't raise my eyebrow. It isn't even that the complete video shows the complete picture or the other side of the story, its that the original video was harmless...
  18. You are failing to understand the value of years on a contract and guaranteed money. if Bell played this year and got seriously injured, want to guess how much money he would make on his next contract?
  19. Its a really interesting topic. Like climate change, it’s incredible that it’s been turned into a partisan issue. This is country has the least friendly employment and labor laws of any first world country, despite our works working more hours on average. Go back and look how hard the FMLA was to enact...and it’s one of the most pro-management leave acts around.
  20. I don't see how either side can call it a major victory. Both did exactly what was projected. Both won some key races, both loss some. Getting the house is very important for the democrats, but that was always going to be the case.
  21. Seems premature by Fox News.....
  22. I agree mostly with what you are saying. But I don’t believe the vast majority of people saying they are against it (example trump, or even people like pelosi) infact are. If that makes sense. Or what I’m saying is I don’t know if this election isn’t about fixing that problem (unfortunately) neither party represents me, but I can’t stand some of the social stances of the right. I don’t like much of the economic stances on the left though.
  23. I would be down with that if true, but I don’t see it! One day lol Maybe 15 years ago. But now both parties will just obstruct
