Happy 22nd Birthday Tremaine Edmunds
LOVEMESOMEBILLS replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's what I was thinking. Two years into his NFL career and he just turned 22. If his body holds up long term and he continues to improve he could have some amazing career stats and be one of all-time best by the time he retires. -
You keep saying that if you can do it against SEC DBs that it will translate to the pro game, yet the fact is most of the QBs who succeeded in college it doesn't translate. Even the ones that had the most success in the SEC all-time. Here are the Top 10 all-time SEC quarterbacks ranked by career passing yards. Player School Passing Yards Years 1. Aaron Murray Georgia 13,166 2010-13 2. David Greene Georgia 11,528 2001-04 3. Chris Leak Florida 11,213 2003-06 4. Peyton Manning Tennessee 11,201 1994-97 5. Eric Zeier Georgia 11,153 1991-94 6. Danny Wuerffel Florida 10,875 1993-96 7. Jared Lorenzen Kentucky 10,354 2000-03 8. Eli Manning Ole Miss 10,119 2000-03 9. Casey Clausen Tennessee 9,707 2000-03 10. Bo Wallace Ole Miss 9,534 2012-14 And here are the Top 10 all-time SEC quarterbacks ranked by career touchdown passes. Player School Passing Yards Years 1. Aaron Murray Georgia 121 2010-13 2. Danny Wuerffel Florida 114 1993-96 3. Peyton Manning Tennessee 89 1994-97 T4. Chris Leak Florida 88 2003-06 T4. Tim Tebow Florida 88 2006-09 6. Eli Manning Ole Miss 81 2000-03 7. AJ McCarron Alabama 77 2010-13 As you can see the two lists above are riddled with QBs that did nothing or next to nothing in the pro game.

Bleacher report predicts Bills record 11-5
LOVEMESOMEBILLS replied to BruceVilanch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Without a doubt some of it will be squarely on Josh's shoulders, but there's a couple things that will need to improve on offense for this offense to start racking up points like we all are dying to see. First off the RB position will need to provide more than the 4 rushing TDs that they combined for last year. Our QB shouldn't have more than twice the rushing TDs than all our RBs combined. The offensive line will need to do better when facing the better defensive lines in league. They held their own against average to below average D-Lines, but mostly got manhandled against the better ones. They also need to limit their penalties. Far too often last year we found ourselves in 1st & 20 or 2nd & 20. Those type of penalties are drive killers. Knox will need to take a step forward and eliminate the drops when passes hit him right in the hands(Oddly he had a couple really tough catches). He also needs to improve with his blocking. Lastly Daboll has got to do a better job of play calling and limit the times he's out thinking himself. There are times he has some really good play calling and other times he leaves you screaming at the TV. He needs to be more consistent. Josh needs to do a better job hitting the deep ball. Last year he improved a lot in the short and intermediate passing game, now he needs to find the touch of the long vertical routes(He did look better towards the end of the year). Now he has some play makers, he needs to get them the ball and let them do what they were brought in to do. He needs to realize sometimes less is more. If we can get a majority of these things to happen next year we will all feel much better about the offense. -
Rd 5, Pick 167: QB Jake Fromm, Georgia
LOVEMESOMEBILLS replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He didn't fare too well in the last 5 games of his career at Georgia having a sub 49% completion percentage in all of them. That's about as bad as it gets. Only time will tell and from what I've seen of him I would definitely say Fitzy has the stronger arm of the two. Fact is, aside from Brady & Brees, there aren't any other QBs you can point to that have below average arm strength and still exceed in today's game and the biggest reason they can do it is because of all their NFL experience. On top of that the NFL is going in another direction at the QB position, where QBs are duel threats, beating you with their arm and legs. Pocket passers are becoming a thing of the past & I believe once Brady, Brees & Rivers retire the transformation will be nearly complete. -
Rd 5, Pick 167: QB Jake Fromm, Georgia

Peterman looked awesome in practice and preseason, but when the lights came on and he played defenses that had spent the week game planning against him he fizzled. Covered the area inside the 20s and made him throw to the outside part of the field. I think they're similar QBs, smart, great intangibles, but don't possess an NFL quality arm. They even were drafted in the same round only 4 picks apart from each other(167 vs 171). Time will tell, but hopefully we found a great backup for the next decade or so. -

Well I can do math, but I forgot to slide the decimal point 2 spots over when converting to percentage. You are correct on the .02%. Based on current numbers COVID-19 is still 200 times more deadly if you catch it. -

Absolutely. The numbers were actually based on 50% following the social distancing guidelines, but the government has already said most people did what they were asked to do, thus bringing down the numbers. Come summer time there is probably a good chance this dies down some, but not go away much like the flu. But what happens in the fall when the 2nd wave is suppose to start and in the winter when the much bigger 3rd wave comes? Chances are a vaccine will not be ready until early to mid next year. -

Yes. Finally someone who knows what he's talking about with this. I agree with most of what you said, but using the lasted confirmed cases and people who died and were confirmed beforehand in the US the current mortality rate is 4% in the US(I'm not talking the whole World's numbers). Being an essential worker(Actually handling COVID-19 test packages at UPS) & having a couple of underlying conditions that make me more susceptible to getting and dying from this virus I have practically have been studying this virus since early March. -

He had over 600 scrimmage yards than any other player and was tied for 1st in total TDs with defenses keying on him because they were starting a rookie QB and only one other decent skilled position player on offense. He had the 3rd most scrimmage yards in NFL history. And yes he is worth 10 million more than Austin Ekeler. Ekeler had 240 touches for 1,550 yards & 11 TDs, 2/3 were receiving yards with really good WRs & a good TE that defenses had to worrying about. CMC had 403 touches for 2,392 yards & 19 TDs with a rookie QB, and no one but DJ Moore for defenses to worry about. CMC has shown he can handle the biggest workload of any RB in the league, & still has played in all 48 games in his career. Ekeler hasn't, he only averaged 15 touches a game last year. CMC had almost as many scrimmage yards & TDs this year than Ekeler has had in his 3 year career. -

No, no it's not. It's straight from the CDC's own website. I only used US's numbers as for most US citizens that's what effects our day to day life. I did use words like confirmed cases for COVID-19 as there hasn't been time for the experts to come up with any real estimates, but that also means only confirmed deaths as many are dying in their houses and in hospitals that never got tested, therefore haven't been a confirmed case. All this will be looked at when they come up with their final estimates once this is all over. -

12,469 divided by 60.8 million is .0002, unless math has changed and I'm not aware of it. That is the US's mortality rate, I only used US numbers for both viruses. Also I did mention the final estimate of cases was going to be higher, but so will the deaths from it as places like NYC has had a ton of people dying in their homes and hospitals that were never tested and currently their deaths are not going into the final tally, but they will in the end. Again these numbers are straight from the CDC's own website. https://www.cdc.gov/flu/pandemic-resources/2009-h1n1-pandemic.html -

H1N1 was around for a full year and was highly contagious, but had a very, very low mortality rate. The US CDC has estimated the US cases at 60.8 million with 12,469 people dying from the disease. Covid-19 has been around for a couple of months with 588,469 confirmed cases(Estimates later on will bring this number higher) with 23,711 confirmed deaths. Again though later estimates of the dead will go much higher as people dying at home & hospitals that were/are untested are not going into the final tally. These are 2 totally different viruses with 2 totally different mortality rates. Covid-19's mortality rate is currently 4.0% while H1N1's was .0002%. Covid-19's mortality rate is 20,000 times higher. In comparison if the same 4% died from H1N1 there would've been over 2.43 million deaths. This isn't an apples to apples comparison. The easiest way to look at it is the World didn't shutdown for H1N1 like it has for the Covid-19 virus. The last time the US shutdown to a pandemic, I believe, was in 1918. Covid-19 has been repeatedly called a once in a century pandemic. -

Why? If you look at WRs that will make comparable money in 2020, CMC is much more valuable than all of them. I could use the only WR slated to make exactly $16 million(Sammy Watkins), but that seems a bit unfair, so I'll use the 3 guys who are going to be paid $16.2 million(Thielen, Cooks & Hopkins). Hopkins has averaged 1,230.4 total yards & 7.71 total TDs per year in his 7 year career. Cooks has averaged 1,001 total yards & 6 total TDs per year in his 6 year career. With Thielen I won't even count his 1st 2 years as they were really bad. Thielen has averaged 1,024 total yards & 6.25 total TDs per year in the last 4 years. But with CMC I'll include his very average 1st year. CMC has averaged 1,814.33 yards & 20.66 TDs per year in his 3 year career. He had over 600 more scrimmage yards than any other player in the league & was tied for 1st in total TDs. If you ask me, given his production, I think the Panthers got a really good deal. -

I don't understand how you can watch that and not see that throw was far different than he's shown in his first two year. Will he resort back to firing fastballs the ball down field during games? Don't know, but that short video gets me excited for his future and what's good for him is good for all of us. -
Rosenthal: True QB value rankings from 1-35
LOVEMESOMEBILLS replied to chris heff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Him calling only 8 handoffs in the second half and OT of the Texans game while leading or tied for all but 5 of the total 40 minutes isn't an issue? Putting the team squarely on the shoulders of a young QB, playing on the road, in his first playoff game is a good idea when it failed every other time they tried it? Not giving the ball to Singletary over and over again in the second half playing with a lead and him averaging 4.5 yards a run isn't an issue? Duh-boll isn't horrible, but there's a reason his offenses have ranked below average to near last each and every season he's been an OC. The best any of his offenses have ranked in yardage in his 6 years as an OC...22nd, the best in points...20th. One of the problems is even when a call is a simple one to make he doesn't, he constantly out thinks himself. Happens over and over again. -

For a guy who has played 1 game in Cincy's last 24 games. 1 catch for 7 yards in the last season and a half. By the time the season opener comes around it will be almost 2 years since he had a meaningful game.

Not sure about adding 1/16 to their current contracts, but it seems like it would solve that issue. Also the player's cut in the new CBA would increase from 47% to 48.5% plus extra revenue for the 17th game and even more money for the extra playoff game in each conference. More money has a way of fixing a lot of problems.
