  1. People act like the Pats* have an advantage in this game due to the forecast and that they are this great running team, while we're horrible at it. We rank 11th in the league in rushing at 118.3 YPG, the Pats* are behind us in 12th place averaging 115.3 YPG. Allen has the monster arm to combat the wind, Jones doesn't. Allen can take off if nothing is there, Jones has 71 rushing yards on the year. Also our defense is ranked higher than theirs in almost every category. They are going to have to combat, what I assume, is going to be a extremely loud stadium when on offense. I would say we have most of the advantages, not them.
  2. I agree, if Allen is a contender than so is Mahomes. Passing wise their stats are very similar with Josh having slim leads in all categories except yards( -11.5 YPG) & and they are tied for passing TDs(25). Josh does have pretty good leads in rushing stats though.
  3. The blocked punt was in 2019's home game. While you could point to the blocked punt as the decisive play, there were other factors such as Allen throwing 3 INTs & getting knocked out. We won a close one in last year's home game where Cam's fumble was the decisive play.
  4. I agree with a majority of what you post Gunner, but there's not a snowballs chance in hell I'm calling Trent Diller a winner. The Ravens won the Super Bowl in spite of him, not because of him. Career numbers include a 58-55 record, more INTs than Tds(113 vs 129), completed 55.5% of his passes, averaged below 160 yards a game(Only once in his 13 year career did he average over 200 yards a game) and a QB Rating of 70.2. Even in their 4 postseason games.... Completed 47.95% of his passes, less than 148 yards a game, less than a TD a game QB Rating of 83.7. He was so bad that in their 2nd game of the playoffs(Against Tenn.) he only completed 5 passes all game. Nah, they won in the regular season, playoffs and Super Bowl solely because of the defense. Anyone could've been the QB of that team, don't turn the ball over and wins will come. That defense was really good and were even better in the playoffs only giving up 5.75 points a game. Diller is not a winner, he's lucky.
  5. The Bucs great rush defense has come crashing back to Earth, somewhat, the last couple of weeks. They've given up 143 & 153 yards rushing the last 2 weeks against the Bears & Saints, while allowing nearly 5 yards per rush. That's against 2 teams that you don't fear the QB beating you. I would consider our rush defense as solid(not great) and are now allowing only 8.6 more yards rushing per game than the Bucs.
  6. It's not on 17, as far as the RB targets are concerned, it's on your memory of the 2 games lol. What if I told you Josh threw more passes to the RBs in the Titans game than the KC game. Moss had 4 targets in both games while Singletary had 2 in the KC game and 5 in the Titans game. It's not that Moss had more targets against KC, it's that the plays had a bigger impact & were more successful. I think the success of throwing deep in the KC game might have got into Josh's head a bit, but then again against that Titans secondary it might have been the gameplan to attack them deep. https://www.espn.com/nfl/boxscore/_/gameId/401326408 https://www.espn.com/nfl/boxscore/_/gameId/401326422
  7. We were back to Josh being the whole offense. He accounted for 361 of our 417 yards, threw all 3 TDs and caught the 2 point conversion. Did he miss a couple plays, yup, but we get blown out tonight without him.
  8. Through 4 games he has exactly half the yards and 1 more TD than he had last year(12 games). His next TD will match what he had his first 2 years combined. Good for Knox putting in the time this offseason to improve his game. If I was the Bills I'd try and get him a couple more targets a game.
  9. Jacksonville won 1 game last year, not 0. They beat the Colts in the first week 27-20.
  10. In the last 19 weeks Josh has won AFC offensive player of the week 5 times or 26.3% of the time. That in itself is an amazing stat and shows just how far he's come since the start of the 2020 season. Top 5 player in the player in the league during that span.
  11. After the game on Sunday I was thinking about just how far Josh has come in the last 2 years. I remembered the week 4 loss to the Pats*** in 2019 when he threw 3 picks and how his career numbers were pretty bad up to that point. Following that week 4 loss in 2019, Josh had 13 Passing TDs & 18 INTs in 15 career starts. In his 31 starts since he's had 61 Passing TDs & only 14 INTs. That's just a ridiculous improvement.
  12. With all the talk on here lately of red flags, regression and possibly having to accept that he just isn't good......Who would've thunk it?😂
  13. The PA vs the no PA numbers show how important it is for this team to run the ball and keep defenses honest. Almost as many yards on 13 PA passes as we got on the 30 no PA passes.
  14. Good write up Shaw, as always!
  15. What does the NY Times know about Allen and his game? Their articles are opinions and meant to get clicks. So you're going with the.....Because this one article backed me up, my really bad opinion was justified? I never said you had called for Allen's head, I said you probably would've if he only threw for what Jones threw for against Washington last week. The players you named off never had the passing season like Allen had last year and that's with him playing injured for 4 1/2 games. If the game was close like the Giants vs Washington game last week, Allen would've easily hit 400 yards passing maybe even getting close to 500. He's in a different league than the players you listed. Knocking off the rust, in the beginning of the year, while only playing 30 minutes together in preseason is not marginal, it's reality. Where was your outcry about the offensive line that was getting blown up on passing plays the first 2 weeks or the spotty play calling. It was a collective effort, not just on Josh. You jumped the gun by a mile and still won't admit, it's ok everyone here already knows. Even now, this game wasn't good enough for you to believe, you just kicked the can down a couple games until we play KC & Tennessee.
  16. Since week 17 of last year...2 regular season games?😂
  17. You call Jones throwing for 249 yards shredding Washington defense?😂 Good lord. This week you would've been calling calling for Josh's head had he thrown for that today. Don't worry about the perception of taking anything away from Josh, you can't, as he had more than that by halftime. Struggling for the first 2 games of the year after an MVP caliber season doesn't warrant the discussion of red flags. Especially in a year when the starters only played 1 half of football together in the preseason. Clearly there was some rust to knock off from the OC, QB and most importantly the OL. IMO you were way too overboard with your "hot takes" and fail to see it/admit it.
  18. For those who can't get the game, join the Buffalo Bills Backers International group on Facebook. They stream the game every week, the only rule is you can't share the stream. One more thing...You must be a member of the Bills Mafia group to join this group. So if you're not, join them first. The stream will be at the top of the page every game day.
  19. You might want to refresh your memory on the last 3 drafts. They have picked 7 offensive linemen since Flores has been there. 2 in 2019, 3 in 2020 and 2 more in this year's draft.
  20. More highlights from the game. The offense put up 537 yards. Here's some stats for the game... Kelly 31/43 363 6 TDs 2 INTs Reed 9/118 1 TD Beebe 8/112 4 TDs Thomas 15/107 plus 4 catches for 35 YDs
  21. I think McDermott will go down statically as the best coach we have ever had. It just won't be all his doing though. He has a really good GM who seems to be on the same page as McDermott. But the biggest reason will be #17, who I think will be the best QB in the league over the next decade or more.
  22. You are correct. I didn't notice lines crossing out the dollar amounts for 2021. Should've read the next line down.
  23. It would be an extension, not a new contract and I'd guess it would be much like the deal Mahomes signed before the start of last season. Even though the contract extension was already offered and signed before last season began his cap hit last year was still only $5.34 million. His cap hit for 2021 & 2022 are still very manageable & below his market value at $24.8 & $31.45 million respectably. Josh's cap hit for this year & once they pick up his 5th year option, his cap hit for 2022, will still be the same with a contract extension done this offseason. Over the last several years every good QB on his rookie deal has had a contract extension offered and signed before his 4th year in the league. Josh may see it as a sign of disrespect and if there's any chance he gives the team a bit of a "hometown discount" I believe it's in the best interest to the team to get it done this offseason.
  24. I wouldn't say he was borderline elite, he was elite. He finished 2nd in the MVP race even though he played 4 games recovering from a separated shoulder and wearing a LBers harness to keep it from separating again. Matt Hasselbeck did a piece on it right before the Seattle game about how much it effects a QB's throwing and accuracy. If that doesn't happen I believe he wins the MVP. Outside of those 4 games... in the other 12 games played he was 315/443 71.1% for 3,698 Yds 33 TDs 6 INTs QB Rating 115.31. In those 12 games he averaged over 308 yards and 2.75 Passing TDs a game and his QB Rating was similar to Aarin Rodgers, while being a far better runner. Those are elite numbers in any year. Those are numbers that neither Wentz or Goff ever put up throwing the ball and Allen is a much better runner than both.
  25. I don't think we need to see anymore and from what Beane was saying on Cris Collinsworth's podcast, I don't think he needs to see anymore either. Since the first Pats game in week 4 of 2019 Josh has 54 Passing TDs vs only 13 INTs(More than a 4 to 1 ratio) and has added another 14 TDs on the ground. Many on here wanted to see the ability to have 300 yard passing games, he had 8 this year(Probably would've had a 9th if he plays the full game against Miami in week 17) including two 400 yard games. Many wanted to see if he could carry the team with a lesser defense, most of the time this year he was our offense, an offense that put up the 2nd most points in the league. He's hard working and now the unquestionable leader of the team. He'll get his contract extension before the season, as he should.
