If Josh is on that team Moore and Mims would've never wanted out in the 1st place. Apparently you haven't watched Wilson and Allen play because if you did you would know that switch would swing several games in their favor. I'll put it this way, if Wilson was our QB no way in hell are we even 7-8 this year, probably more like 4-10 or 5-9. They lost by 5 & 7 to the Pats, 5 to the Vikings, 8 to the Bills and 3 to the Lions. At the very least those 5 games are all wins with Allen. Right there makes them 12-3 before we even start talking about the other 3 losses. Which makes them Super Bowl contenders which was the point I was making. As far as a franchise QB floating their way and all that, I have no idea why you are talking about that, I wasn't talking about that, it wasn't my point. You were calling them a mess and saying the wr room isn't good. With Wilson at QB?? Hell no, no wr room would be good with him he's one of, if not, the worst starting QB in the league. That wr room would be good with a top 10 QB under center, Wilson has a ton of potential. I disagree that they're a mess, they just have a realky bad QB and they're tired of it knowing they have a good enough team elsewhere to hang with anyone. In reality they're 1 piece away from contending, admittedly the hardest piece to obtain, but still just one piece.

They're a franchise QB away from contending for a Super Bowl. The defense played uninspired tonight, but they've been really good all year, even with an offense that doesn't move the ball. You put Josh on that team and they might be as good or better than our 11-3 record. With Josh not on our team, their games against the Bengals and the Vikings would be the only 2 in question, they get wins in all the rest imo.

70% would be first on our team at the starting position, just ahead of Diggs. 70% to 55%, a 15 point diffence in catch rate is a big difference. Just to be clear Zay still has him in catches, yards, 1st downs and catch rate. Gabe has 1 td more and a better ypc average. One player is exceeding this year's expectations of them and the other is not. No one had Zay having a chance at 1,000 yards this late in the season. Gabe has more talent, I'm not questioning that, he just needs his play to equal his talent. With teams using a spy on Josh and an extra man on Diggs, that's 2 less guys to worry about, he should be having a field day. He's the one that needs to make teams pay for doing that.

If he wants to make the big bucks and we know he does, he's gonna have to show he can do it consistently. I thought he had a solid game against Miami, nothing eye popping, but at least 3 of his 4 catches came at big moments. The 21 yard catch on 3rd and 17 on their 2nd td drive, the 14 yard reception to get the final drive started getting them out of the shadow of their own endzone and the 15 yard catch on 2nd and 18 to make a manageable 3rd and 3 a few plays later.

Definitely with the weather forecasted for Chicago there’s a very, very, very, very good chance you picked correctly.😂 Engram had a really good game!
-
Correct, as I said I love Gabe, not hating at all, just giving an honest opinion. I think it's fair to say he's had a few really good games and no so much in the other ones. And that it's time for him to step up with the playoffs approaching. We know Josh and Diggs are going to step up, Gabe's play, offensively speaking, will probably have the biggest impact on how far we go in the playoffs. Imo he's that important.
-
You can eye test all you want, results are the only thing that matters. He's been very up and down this year and as I said in another post half his yards and 2/3 of his tds are in 3 games. He has about 375 and 2 tds in all the rest, that's not good. His catch rate is horrible, 42 catches on 77 targets? He has almost as many misses as hits and I know not all are his fault, but that's the same with every other WR too. He needs to be better especially with teams doubling Diggs all the time. He should be feasting, but he's not. I love Gabe, I'm not a hater, but he needs to be more consistent game in and game out. It's playoff time, he needs to step up if we're going to go deep in the playoffs.
-
He's had a very up and down year, very much a feast or famine. He has half his yards and 2/3 of his tds in 3 games(Pitt, Minnesota, Rams). Not a whole lot done outside of those games.
-
This year though it's close, real close. As in Zay has more receptions, 1st downs, a few more yards and a far better catch rate than Gabe. Gabe has 1 more td and a far better ypc average. Gabe has the luxury of already playing a few seasons in this offense and with Josh and has a far better #1 WR to take coverage away for him. I would say Zay has had the more impressive season. So it depends, do you want a possession receiver or a big play receiver?

They gave up a td and 2 fgs, I'm not holding the 19 yard drive for a td, that was gifted by an Allen interception, against them. The defense gave up 310 yards, which is lower than the 325.4 average they give up and the 336.9 the Jets offense averages.

News flash: You're wrong Jacksonville is making the playoffs. The Titans are starting Willis the rest of the season, only hold a 1 game lead and they play each other in week 18. I would think they are now the favorites in the AFC South. The Titans may not win another game this year. I personally thought the Jags were going to win the south before Tannehill was ruled out for the season, that only made it more likely imo.
-
If Miami is playing at home their defense is pretty good, but their defense is horrible on the road, which is where they'll be playing if they make the playoffs. They've given up 38, 27, 40, 27, 32, 33, 23 & 32 so far in road games. That's 252 total points and a 31.5 ppg average. The Bills have given up less for the whole year at 250 points.😂
-
Jacksonville moved the ball with ease in the 1st quarter. Not saying it's going to happen, especially with heavier rain forecasted to move in, but they're on pace for 500 yards right now.
-
Absolutely, especially now with the news that Tannehill is out for the year. Willis isn't ready and has struggled when he's played, completing only 45% of his passes and a QB Rating of 47.8.😳
-
I don't know uf I would've done the same. Against that defense and it's supposed to rain pretty good starting around 9:00 through the rest of the game. Good luck, hope Engram he does well for you tonight.👍
-
About 8:45 - 9:00 the rain is supposed to move in. With moderate to heavy rain about 10:00. The winds are only supposed to be 15 - 20 MPH during the game. I'm rooting for Jacksonville to win, but the Jets defense seems too good to lose 4 in a row, even with Zach Wilson at QB. GO BILLS!!

I agree. He has consistently pushed the interior line into the QB this year. He was one of the reasons why Green Bay all but abandoned the passing game for a long stretch in that game. On pass plays he was in the backfield throughout the 1st half. Also was Defensive Player of the week for his massive game on Thanksgiving against the Lions. Still don't know how he didn't get a turkey leg. We don't win that game without him.

Opponents' 3rd and long scare anyone else?

The defense has taken the brunt of the injuries this year and for the most part they have been key players. Hyde, Poyer, White, Elam, Jackson, Benford, Milano, Edmunds, Groot, Phillips, Miller and now Boogie(That's just off the top of my head) have all missed some to alot of time this year. The secondary has been hurt the most, missing 2-3 guys in almost all the games and sometimes missing 4 of 5 starters, including all 3 former All-Pros. It's been a constant revolving door this year. My hope is there's no more injuries back there and coach decides quickly and picks Elam to start opposite of Tre. That will give him time to settle in and give the secondary 3 games to try and gel with one another.🤞 -
Not questioning that and have given several rundowns on games vs .500 or better teams for the top 5 Super Bowl contenders, including the 49ers defense facing a bunch of bad offenses like we did last year. And our record against top 10 offenses, defenses, pass rushers, QBs and RBs. I tried to cover it all lol.
-
Yeah, I wasn't disputing that. When you think of #1 defenses the 2021 Bills defense shouldn't come to mind lol.
-
That #1 ranking was a mirage. We played a bunch of bad teams & offenses. The opposing QB list, at that time, was riddled bad young QBs and bad old QBs. The list of bad QBs faced last year: Jones - twice Wilson & White - once each Tua - twice Mills Heinicke Siemian Ryan Wentz Newton Lawrence Roethlisberger Average QB faced: Tannehill Good QBs faced: Mahomes Brady

God that got rammed down everyone's throat for about a year. That was Colin Cowherd's, and several others, go to the back half of last year and early this year. -

No, I'm a bit more reasonable than most. Everyone is scare of this thing or that, I look at it logically and say we've played 10 games this year against teams that are currently .500 or better, so only 4 games against losing teams. Playing harder teams results in more close games and not as good of stats, than playing an easy schedule, like last year's team had. Most would agree that the top 5 favorites to win the Super Bowl are Bills, Bengals, Chiefs, Eagles and 49ers. Like I said the Bills have played 10 games against teams .500 or better, the Eagles have 7, Bengals and Chiefs 6 and the team that all sports media and most fans are drooling over, the 49ers, have only played in 5. Just like everyone going nuts about the 49ers defense, they're good, no doubt, but much like the Bills defense last year they have benefited from playing a bunch of garbage teams and even more garbage offenses. The offensive ranks of the teams they've played: 32nd - 2 times, 30th, 28th, 27th, 23rd, 21st, 18th, 17th, 14 - 2 times, 12th, 5th & 1st. Most take their #1 ranking at face value, I look for a reason/s why thir rankings are so high. It's because they've only played 2 offenses on the top 10, have played half their games against offenses that are somewhere between 21st - 32nd and 5 out of 14 games against a bottom 6 offense. That's a cakewalk right there, just like the Bills defense had last year. Also we're 4-1 against top 10 offenses and 3-1 against top 5 offenses(3 on the road). We're 3-1 against top 10 defenses(Again 3 on the road). We're 5-1 when playing a top 12 pass rusher, 1 game we faced 2 in the same game and won. We're 6-1 when playing a top 15 RB. And we're 2-1 against top 15 QBs, the only loss was when we played in outrageously hot weather missing half our starters and a couple of their backups. No other team can say they have done all that. This is why I'm not worrying about anything. This team has shown me they're good enough to win the whole thing. I love how your tried to nail me down, but failed miserably, you don't have the first clue about me or who I am. Been a Bills fan for longer than most on here, but obviously not as long as the old timers. A fan since I went to a game when I was 5 in 1978, I'm a veteran at this and a much bigger fan than most. One of things I've learned over the years and this is 100% true, you can worry yourself to death, but it ain't going to make a lick of difference, it's 100% pointless. Me, I look at it this way, we've played a hard schedule, played in a bunch of close, hard fought games and we've only lost 3 times, all to teams .500 or better, by a combined 8 points. This is the most battle tested Bills team since, at least, the early 90s and the most tested team this year going into the playoffs. This year our stats and record are real, not a mirage like other years. That's good enough for me. I'll be the bigger man by ending this with I hope you learn to not worry so much and have a Merry Christmas! GO BILLS!!
