  1. The shoulder injury occurred behind the line of scrimmage on a pass attempt though, not a run. A short pass to Diggs. A single concussion in a 5 year span will have no impact on the length of his career. You're reaching here.
  2. So you get to decide what people say in here?
  3. To a degree, but with a 2nd year QB drafted #1 overall, a new coach and spending that kind of cash, you would hope for better than 9-8. Though they were bad last year.
  4. Can't remember, too long ago, but definitely remember seeing it in a USC game.
  5. USC did that in a game back when Reggie Bush was still there.
  6. No way they tank this game after what Damar just battled through. Bills by a million. Ahemmm....by 3 million. #3 I know right? What would Lamar Hamlin think?๐Ÿ˜‚
  7. I don't have to prove anything to you. He was well known for buying time and taking hits, with defenders already draped on him to hit the long ball. Not good enough for ya, too bad. You still haven't addressed the fact of out of the 3 injuries( 2 elbow injuries, 1 separated shoulder) Allen has had, all 3 have occurred in the pocket, attempting to throw the ball, not while running it. Blows your whole argument right out of the water.๐Ÿคฏ
  8. Unless Josh McDaniels was spoon feeding him everything? The biggest indictment of Mac, imo, is with everything being equal Rookie Bailey Zappe has played very well this year when given the opportunity in the 4 games he played.
  9. No one has a Brady long type career, except Brady. Way to use a one off as your example. And as I said in my last post, while they MAY have different playing styles Cam, Ben and Josh have/had taken alot of hits in their 1st 5 years. You canโ€™t deny that, it's 100% true. It doesn't matter what style of play you have, it the hits you take and how well your body takes them. Of your examples one played alot longer than the other, but not because he wasn't getting hit alot or taking big hits, Ben's career was predicated on taking those hits to hit big plays. That's 100% factual as well. So if that was all you were discussing, where did the checking down come in. Which also was not Ben's game until the last part of his career. You are the one putting fingers in their ears. Never had a more frustrating conversation in here in 10 years. Now go ahead and respond with some more of your passive aggressive bullsh!t.
  10. For Bill I believe it means 1 of 3 things. Either he's too loyal, likes yes men or likes coaches he's already familiar with. As far as Greg is concerned, to just a guy listening, he sounded like he didn't want to come out and blame anyone, but I think it was the answers to Chris Brown's follow up questions that eventually painted the picture. When you hear things like they have good play concepts that are producing wide open(his words) receivers, Mac is just not seeing them and often isn't even looking in the right areas of the field and for whatever reason he's simply not seeing them(The open WRs). To me, that's sounds like it's on the QB all the way.
  11. I think he was asked that and was undecided? Said while he did look at game tape, he didn't know enough about the situation. He didn't sound very optimistic though.
  12. I love passive aggressive people, who have nothing to offer except the above. You're a peach!!! No, I'm saying if you're going to present examples during an argument, don't provide garbage examples. It's lazy, like a sloth. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I am saying that you trying to say Josh's career is either going to be like Cam's or Ben's based purely on hits taken and checking the ball down is ludicrous using those 3 examples. All 3 took a lot hits their 1st 5 years(And beyond for the former QBs). And Big Ben's game wasn't checking the ball down until late into his career. He was always a guy looking to push the ball downfield, heroball as you called it and took alot of punishment for doing. Last 2 years of his career that's all they talked about was he was so beat up because he had taken so many big hits playing that way. Any Pitts game last year, that's all they talked about while Pitt was on offense. All that makes your Josh can't make Canton cause he runs and doesn't check down argument moot. Ben playing so long also shoots down your argument that Josh can't play a long successful career if he takes hits. And you're the one who gave the examples. I'm starting to question what you've retained during your over 29 years fanhood, because you seemed to forgotten these things. I really don't understand your examples and/or argument because they just don't jive.๐Ÿ˜‚
  13. My guess would be they went over all that during the week with him. If you get zone look here, man to man look there, cover 2 you're going to want to go to this receiver and so on. It can't be on the coaching when the same exact things were on Josh early in his career. He needs to be able to read defenses and then know where to go with the ball. Greg Cosell, who knows his sh_t when it comes to football, was placing it on Jones and said the play concepts were good and producing open receivers.
  14. No, Greg was talking about Mac not being able to read the defense, saying how the defense plays you determines where you go with the ball. He's not processing things correctly on the field.
  15. At no point did I say that, he's young and can play that way for as long as he sees fit. All that time on Cam and heck we haven't even got to your 2nd analogy yet.๐Ÿ˜‚ So let's move to Big Ben, shall we. What you say is a detriment to Josh are some of the same exact things Ben did for the first 10 years of his career. He always was trying to by time to throw the deep pass, hardly ever checking it down. You see one as playing "hero ball" while the other you talk of longevity and Canton. Ben in the 1st half of his career I would argue took more hits and more big hits than Josh ever has thought of taking. The hits Ben took were just different in nature, one takes extra hits running the ball, the other took a ton of extra hits trying to buy time in and outside the pocket. He constantly had defenders hanging on him while other defenders were just teeing off on him. Do you not remember this? It's literally what he was known for, buying time and taking the big hit to get a big play downfield. The hits were just coming on the opposite sides of the line of scrimmage. I will still say Cam and Ben took far more big hits than Josh has to this point of their careers, I don't think it's close. Yet 1 out of those 2 played alot longer than the other & is going to Canton, while the other isn't. Which was my original point, human bodies can take various amounts of punishment. Some wear out far earlier than others.
  16. Yes. If a million things went just right. They were all but eliminated and didn't want Carr hurt so it would automatically guarantee him 40 million next year, left them no out in the contract.
  17. His opinion was the complete opposite, he says it's not about the play calling or coaching, it's Mac has regressed. He was specifically talking about Matt Patricia though, maybe the QB coach then?
  18. No stop. Teams out of the playoff hunt have always given young QBs a look at the end of the year. Wtf was that Stidham? Horrible pass.
  19. Greg Cosell said in an interview yesterday that he's looked over all the tape from the last 2 years and that Mac is not reading things right, not seeing wide open guys all season. Says the plays have been there, but he has been rarely looking in the right spots.
  20. You didn't mention Cam reaching the Super Bowl or MVP u like Josh up thread in your response to me? Yeah, ok, act as though you were only talking longevity. Josh is simply telling the media exactly what's being told to him, has he changed his game? Don't you think he would if he thought that was the case. Actions always speak louder than words. If you noticed all the talk about him running has gone way down over the course of the last 2 seasons, why because he doesn't get hurt when he runs. On all 537 attempts. Besides 1 concussion in early 2019, he's only been hurt when he's been in the pocket. That's a fact.
  21. EDIT: Rex starts to speak at the 4:15 mark of the video.
  22. If you watched Cam play and Josh play and can't see the difference in quality of QB play, I don't know what to tell you. As you can see, you're the only one who believes or agrees with what you are saying. How exactly is Josh's career 135 tds 59 ints anywhere near an identical average at the halfway point than Cam's 194/123? That's not even remotely close. And that's with Josh starting his career with 13 tds & 18 ints in his 1st 16 games, it's been 122 tds & 41 ints, since Josh's 3 int game against NE in early 2019. Cam did win MVP and as I said, Josh's passing stats in 3 different years have been as good or better than that. Cam had Brady & Rodgers to beat out, there's a whole lot more competition at QB for MVP nowadays. Super Bowl vs no Super Bowl I never count because it has more to do with team, players and coaching vs what 1 player did. Couple of questions, statically who has the best playoff season ever by a QB? Who has the highest QB Rating in the playoffs for a career? Who has the best td to int ratio ever in a playoff career? Remind me again who holds the record for most tds in 1st 5 years in the league, that's right it was Cam, no it was Big Ben, no Tom Brady, no Mahomes, no Lamar, no Rodgers, no definitely Marino. Damn, I forgot who that was. Is it Josh's fault whatsoever we didn't win a Super Bowl last year? 48/62 637 yards, 77.4%, 9 tds 0 ints QB Rating of 148.99 in just 2 games(Cam only has 10 passing tds combined in 7 career playoff games). Burrow only threw for 5 tds in 4 playoff games last year. Cam's career playoff QB Rating is a full 20 points lower than Josh's at 87.7 and Josh has already thrown more tds and 6 less ints than Cam's playoff career. Josh led Buffalo to 12 tds on 16 total drives last year in the playoffs. Scoring tds on 75% of ALL drives in the playoffs, a td percent that's never been seen before by a team in the postseason. But yup let's blame Josh for being superhuman and putting up passing numbers, that even the greatest of the greats have never accomplished, even when talking playoff careers. As far as longevity is concerned, again I question just how much you watched Cam's games back in the day or rememberwhat happened. The difference in hits he took vs the hits Josh has taken are night and day. Adter the first year or 2 in the league Cam consistently got blown up all over the field, whether in the open field or in the pocket. So much so he started having meetings with the NFL higher ups and Goodell about it. Josh is a big strong farmer of a QB. Living in farming country I can simply say people who grew up farmers are just built differently than others. Just because Cam's body broke down doesn't mean Josh's will, every human body can take different amounts of punishment. Josh also tends to give out the hits just as much as taking them, unlike Cam who would got destroyed over and over again. Below are some links on the subject. Go ask any NFL executive if they want a 5th year Cam going forward at QB or a 5th year Josh and see what you get for an answer. No one is saying Cam. https://www.google.com/amp/s/profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/10/30/cam-newton-wants-to-talk-to-roger-goodell-about-horsecrap-hits/amp/ https://www.google.com/amp/s/larrybrownsports.com/football/nfl-under-scrutiny-hits-cam-newton-head/321473%3famp https://www.si.com/nfl/video/2016/10/31/carolina-panthers-cam-newton-roger-goodell-officials-hit Far better passer than Cam.
  23. Imo this isn't even a question anymore. Maybe on Tuesday it would've been, but once they got news of Damar's improvement, Mario demanded they go achieve their goals for the season and now Damar facetiming them, that team is as galvanized as any team could be.
  24. Alright, you just lost 100% credibility with the Cam Newton line.๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚Talk about going way over the top just to try and prove a point. Josh's last 3 years have all been better than Cam's best year and it'll keep going like that for another 10-15 years. Their careers are exactly alike except for the completion percentage(sub 60), yards(only 32,000 in 11 seasons, 218 ypg) and td to int ration(194 tds, 123 ints). Yup besides all those things(Basically everything to do QB play) they'll be identical. Cam Newton career, damn I ain't heard something that funny in awhile.๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
