PSA: This is Sean McDermott's defense, not Leslie Frazier's
LOVEMESOMEBILLS replied to QB Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
To Ethan, whether you see my point or not is irrelevant to you, I wasn't responding to a post of yours. And Holy Christ you both need to get a grip. My response was to another poster about Reid actually getting to the Super Bowl with the Eagles and McDermott hadn't. He had conveniently left out that he lost 4 straight years prior to going to the Super Bowl. And he was considered a failure before winning it all a few years ago after many, many postseason failures. Nothing more, nothing less. Repulsif, don't know where you got any of that from my post, reading is hard. I never even referred to McDermott or the Bills a single time in my post.😂 -
Aaron Rodgers to the Jets for 2 first round picks?
LOVEMESOMEBILLS replied to Lost's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe. We'll see both models on display a week from Sunday. My money will be on the highly paid QB. -

I get the premise of the tweets but... they're going to just gloss over Bryan Cook giving up the td to Higgins and the long pass to Chase that set up the game tying td because he wouldn't turn his head and look for the ball. I mean good for him on the 3rd attempt for finally doing so and tipping the ball, but he wasn't good and would've been getting blamed if they had lost the game. -
That's cause of one reason and one reason only, he had a wife making more money than he was. While I understand Tom knew taking less would improve his chances, but if he's not with Giselle that never happens. I just read she signed a 5 year $25 million deal with Victoria Secret way back in 2000. She made more than he did all those years($90 million in 2009 alone) and is still raking in $40 million a year while working very little. No way he does that if he's with a woman making nothing or very little, like most QB's wifes/girlfriends.

Joe Montana is easily #2 on the QB all-time list, going 4-0 in Super Bowls. But it not just the 4-0 record that's impressive. In his last 3 Super Bowl appearances ranging from the 84 season through 89 he was 69/100, 69%, 985 yards, 10 tds, 0 ints and a QB Rating of 134. He had a QB Rating of at least 100.0 in all 4 Super Bowls. That's in a time period where defenses could get away with alot more in both defending WRs and crushing the QB.

Andy lost 4 straight years in the playoffs before reaching the Super Bowl with the Eagles. This year is the 18th time he's made the playoffs and the 4th time reaching the Super Bowl. 3 of those 4 Super Bowl appearances happened in just the last 4 years. So he reached the Super Bowl once in his first 14 playoff trips. He was very much considered a failure until just a few years ago. Now he’s gone 9-2 in his last 4 postseasons and is considered one of the best coaches. -
While I agree the AFC west was easier than expected, ours wasn't that competitive either, unless you count the end of the season at the halfway point. The Dolphins finished the season 1-5 in their last 6 games. The Pats 2-5 in their last 7 and the Jets 1-7 in their last 8. As far as the competition is concerned, the Chargers had the best record in either division. And we won our division by 4.5 games, KC won theirs by 4 games.

McDermott's peer would be a pre Super Bowl win Andy Reid, just a shorter coaching career to date. Andy Reid struggled in the postseason in Philly making coaching blunders in the playoffs and many questioned for years whether he could win it all. Their regular season win percentage are almost identical with Reid holding a slight advantage .641 vs .639. They rank right next to each other in career win percentage Reid #20th & McDermott #21st all-time(Min. 50 games). Like McDermott, Reid also had a .500 record in the playoffs the year before he won it, he was 14-14. That's right 14 failures before he finally won one. He's 6-2 in the playoffs since. Let's all hope McDermott doesn't take as long as Reid did. EDIT: Correction Reid was 12-14 before winning the Super Bowl and is 9-2 in the playoffs since.

There was similar angst in the late '80s
LOVEMESOMEBILLS replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is correct. We are 37-12 in the last 3 years. In a 3 year stretch between 90-92 we went 37-11. The record by season are almost identical. Current 3 year stretch 13-3, 11-6, 13-3. Record back then 13-3, 13-3, 11-5. -
He probably knew they weren't going to make it once he unretired and didn't want her to get a piece of his $375 million contract with Fox. So he came back for a year to delay the contract from kicking in. All just a guess, but I think this makes the most sense.

Interesting Article on Big Money QBs
LOVEMESOMEBILLS replied to IronyAbounds's topic in The Stadium Wall
Wentz doesn't get the credit though, that win is with a veteran Foles playing. The rest are the runner ups except for the back to back QBs each went 1-1 and the other where both were on rookie deals so that was a guaranteed winner. 3-6 the QBs on rookie deals were, excluding the Foles win. This shows that ultimately it pays to have the more experienced & more expensive QB by a 2 to 1 margin. -
Just a suggestion to help out the current affairs.
LOVEMESOMEBILLS replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah, something like that. I would love for them to take 2 OL & 2 WRs in the first 4 rounds. If there's an OL or WR that stands out in the 1st they've gotta pull the trigger. Why do I feel as though a LBer or SS is coming our way?😂 -

I know. These thread starts are starting to look like novels. I would suggest maybe not including everything you have to say in the 1st post. Give the main point, offer up secondary ideas as the thread moves along. Secondly, it seems like the OP has created a 2nd thread to double down on his original thread titled Bijan Robinson.😂 No thank you to a 1st round being used on a RB. It's a luxury Buffalo can't afford, especially this offseason. -
I've never have and never will be one to judge a QB simply on whether his team wins or loses. His numbers in both postseason have either been equal to the league regular season QB average or below and there's a whole lot of bad QB play factoring into that regular season average. During Cincy’s Super Bowl run his QBR was 51.0. 50 is defined as the average QB play in the league. Not to mention having to settle for 19 fgs in 7 games while possessing the best WR trio in the league. You are correct we'll have to agree to disagree on this.

Bengals' Board Monitoring TBD
LOVEMESOMEBILLS replied to thenorthremembers's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's actually is poor play. A 70.2 QB Rating has got to be at least 20 points below league average. -
Mahomes has my respect, just like Brady did. Burrow has to do something more than being the QB on a team with an elite postseason defense and fg kicker. Only one 300 yard game(with 0 tds 1 int), no games with 3 or more td passes and has never put up more than 27 points in 7 postseason games. Should've never made it out of the WC round both years. First the refs save him last year and then his defense scored a 98 yard td to save him this year. He doesn't get respect until he earns it, there's no participation trophies nor should there be.

Dust has settled...Alphas look at what lies ahead
LOVEMESOMEBILLS replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
Von had a weekly appearance on the Pat Mcafee show this year and during his 1st appearance after the surgery says he'll be ready to go come week 1. The surgery he had vs Tre's are alot diffetent. It was his 2nd ACL surgery to that knee and there was alot of the painful stuff they were able to skip and reuse from the 1st surgery(Like holes that have to be drilled through bone). Said pain was alot less this time around and there's a quicker recovery time. -

I think it would be more entertaining if a player had to do a shot and the other team gets to decide who. -
The biggest problem next year will not be whether players are still buying into the "process", problem 1a & 1b will be the 2 teams that were playing for the AFCCG yesterday. It won't be the 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th biggest problems either. As long as Josh and him are good, the rest of the team will follow, regardless of how they feel. There's no known rift between Josh and him, so. Also with where they are with the cap and lack of difference makers, trading 1st and 2nd rounders isn't wise unless it's for a playmaker.

Bengals will be the team to beat for years to come
LOVEMESOMEBILLS replied to Niagara Dude's topic in The Stadium Wall
While this is true, Buffalo was in cap hell in year 1 of Allen's career, that's not on them. The 2nd thing that I think is important to note is Burrow was a far more polished QB coming out of college. Though improving Allen was still an average QB in year 2. Only in year 3 did both the Bills and Allen have their 1st opportunity to compete for the title. By then half of Josh's "cheap time" was gone. I agree the Bengals will have a solid chance next year, but after that Burrow's postseason play will need to rise a couple of levels. Allen's postseason production with lesser weapons is quite a bit better. His postseason Passer Rating & QBR are both better, in 1 additional game he has the same number of ints while throwing for 8 more tds. His ypg is better, his rushing yards are 4:1 vs Burrows and he's had huge games in the playoffs, Burrow, not so much. 300 yards games: Burrow 1 in 7 games, Allen 3 in 8 games. Games with 3 passing tds or more: Burrow 0 in 7 games, Allen 3 in 8 games. Offensive points the same thing: Average ppg postseason: Burrow 22.5, Allen 27 2. Games scoring over 27 points: Burrow 0 in 7 games, Allen 4 in 8 games. Allen has done alot more with less weapons around him. I think it would be safe to say the Bills FO did waste his final 2 cheap years, but I think it's also safe to say Burrow is wasting elite weapons around him and an elite postseason defense. A defense that's only given up an average of 18.8 ppg in their 7 playoff games and have never given up more than 24 points in any of those games. Alot of NFL QBs would kill to be in Joe Burrow's position the last 2 years. He's squandered 2 now. -
Last year was very similar in ypg where his production dropped off a cliff. But this time his targets and receptions had a smaller drop compared to this year & TDs had a slight increase. Another thing Diggs finished 5th in targets this year, but would've finished 4 if the Cincy game wasn't canceled. Last year he was 5th, in 2020 he was 1st. Average targets per game by year: 10.2, 9.1, 9.6. Targets have been pretty consistent since he's been here. On to last year. First 9 games: Average targets per game: 9.6 Average receptions per game: 6.3 TDs: 4 Average yards per game: 83.3 Last 10 games: Average targets per game: 8.5 Average receptions per game: 5.3 TDs: 6 Average yards per game: 54.2 You would think weather plays a role in his ypg decrease as the year goes on.
