[closed]At what point will you call Sammy Watkins a bust?
SJDK replied to dayman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sammy is a very talented receiver. He is injury prone due to the way he plays. He doesn't know how to save himself. By this I mean that he fights for yards when he shouldn't (i.e. He's got a first down or he's not even close and tries to pick up another yard and puts too much torque on his body). He's not a bust but he has to learn how to "save it". When it doesn't matter, he plays hard but he just needs to pick his spots better though.. he's not a bust at all FWIW -
Tyrod Taylor: straight up baller and team mvp today
SJDK replied to TallskiWallski83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
More than happy with Tyrod today. "Good teams find a way to win". "Good players have the ability to put their team on their back". Both of those things happened. Also keep in mind that we won by 1 point and I heard another cliché last week : "every 10 yards in penalties = 1 point". The hat is off to the coaching staff and players for playing by the rules and ensuring a win by cutting down penalties. Oh and Tyrod being Tyrod helps...obviously! -
an average sack loses about 8 yards or so for the offense. Each of Jerry's personal fouls are obviously 15 yards lost for us. We know Jerry gets 10 sacks/year... Him and Aaron Williams are killing us. When you are playing football keeping quiet and letting those emotions come out as fast, strong & legal football moves is the best revenge. Why talk to the refs like that? He knows darn well that he made the penalty's. I wish Jerry and Aaron both can bottle that stuff up and use that energy to put themselves in position to make a play. SMH, this team is too expensive to keep intact much beyond this year and every 15 yarder is a shovel on the grave for playoff hopes.

Andy Benoit analysis of Bills-Giants
SJDK replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Offense was terrible mostly. I don't care what anyone says but I was swearing at Charles Clay early a lot more than cheering him... Bulk targets made his stat line look good. Very subpar performance compared to the numbers he could have posted IMO. Wide receiver screen attempts were untimely, very slow, telegraphed and annoying. Route depth on third down passes was short basically every time. Williams either had no room or didn't hit the hole quick enough. I guess the big take away for me was; Lack of urgency both firing off the ball at the snap and not selling play action fakes and reverse fakes, overall lack of effort on offense. They looked lazy almost yep, press with inside technique and jump routes in slot -
it was always being said in San Francisco that their was way too much verbiage and the play calls were too complex. Adjustments don't get made because there is not enough time left on the play clock. Out here in the Bay Area that is all we used to here about Roman.

This kid is such a rare blend of size, speed and power. I am 100% bought in. If we had to give up 2 running backs right now... I'd keep karlos.

35-17 good guys. We have a way of giving Miami beat downs the past few years. Sack time!

Breaking down Tyrods interceptions.
SJDK replied to mikef272002's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Easy to miss but it was the last question asked at presser(still up on buffalo bills.com). Somebody asked, "was the last interception intended for Sammy or Percy Harvin?". Tyrod one word answer: "Percy"(about 6:45 mark) -
What did you do that caused Buffalo to Lose
SJDK replied to Johnny Hammersticks's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I recently moved and forgot where I put my bills receiving gloves I always wear them through the whole game (except during commercials/ gotta check on fantasy teams). Good news is that I found them later that day so next week is a win fo sho. -
My dad was watching the game with me and we were both like "what the hell is up with that?" So damn annoying!

Just like someone said earlier in this thread. Basically, if you are only sending four and hardly blitzing, you have got to play press coverage. Brady was getting the ball out faster than any dline can get to him. You have got to play press (man or zone) and jump the routes. I think it shows more than anything that either Rex or our DC doesn't trust our backend defensively. If you play off against Brady he will get the ball out in 2 seconds or less ALL day and Tom Brady will make those easy throws ALL day if you give them to him. We gave it to him. He took it. Shame on our defensive coaches for not adjusting

Agreed. He might even... Be better 😁 (waiting for lightening bolt)

Rex Ryan - The mouth that roared
SJDK replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have no idea how you misconstrued my comment so bad.. We committed the penalties which were all stupid. But the penalties I was referencing are of the 15 yard/lost composure variety. Just watch the game if you haven't already -
Rex Ryan - The mouth that roared
SJDK replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As the great Chuck Dickerson once said, "He's all talk and no a$$". Seriously, the team has no apprehension to commiting stupid penalties... No discipline, just like his former players said. I want to like him but part of a good system is discipline along with structure. The cheatriots have it and we can't win sh!t without it. We are now the jets -
I think we will obviously see a lot of nickel coverage and some combo coverages. Even in 2 receiver sets.. What I'd like us to do is have either graham or Aaron pick him up in combo coverages. Basically have Roby drop to the deep third and have the corner on his side cover shallow and have whichever safety is on that side drop down in the box to shadow gronk and/or run support. In effect switching roles between nickel corner and safety. Or just 3 safeties instead of nickel (big nickel) when playing against 2 receiver 1 tightend looks and cover 1 vs 2 receiver 2 tightend looks. 3 receivers? Dime, patriots running game isn't scary

I hopeTyrod does well but he's too small to be lowering his throwing shoulder into guys. I also haven't seen enough ballsy passes. EJ, on the other hand worked on letting it rip and he will never play with the clinched cheeks marrone made him play with again IMO. If he gets a chance this year, he's going gunslinger. I hope Tyrod doesn't get hurt ( I consider it probable however). I just hope EJ gets another chance to "let it rip" because good things happen when he does.

Which team is the most overrated in the NFL for 2015?
SJDK replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Dolphins for me, mostly because of the people who sing the praises of Tannehill... He's a marginal starter and certainly not an answer for them. On defense, they got better with Suh but weak at linebacker and secondary -
Edit: now confirmed rumor that Bills will release Cassel
SJDK replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Absolutely what these decisions are about. I hope Mario restructures by next year.. Kyle Williams must be getting a little nervous Manny Lawson too. I have a feeling that Rex is saying "just don't touch my defense" though. -
I don't like the Rex hire. He brings in jets players. He brings in poor character players. He releases a high character guy like Fred (I don't think this was doug's call). Picks the wrong QB.. Sorry, TT is too small and he will get hurt playing his style. We will be stuck with cassel because EJ will probably be released... Sorry but this guy is hurting us. No wonder the jets go 6-10.

Whaley is an idiot for cutting Fred
SJDK replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I love Fred and feel that your comment is completely on point. It sucks but we need keep the best RB's we have and he's just not one of them anymore. Sorry Fred, you will be missed in the locker room -
I think it's easy for them to game plan. The face a better version of TT every day in practice.. Luck is slower and puts his shoulder down more and TT slides. Indies D Is nothing to be afraid of imho
