  1. Ali, Foreman, Spinks and Leonard. All were Olympic gold medalists. The US had won 108 Olympic medals in boxing before this year. In 2008, we've won one (the bronze medal in the heavyweight division). Shameful! Seems like an indicator of boxing's overall decline, coupled with the rise in popularity of MMA. Or do you think our guys just stunk this year.
  2. Graet first post. You know we don't have enough baseless negative comments around here. You'll really round things out. (Sarcasm on)
  3. I just can't see the logic in Peters and his agent staying silent throughout this holdout. Normally, the agent would be in front of TV cameras doing his best Jerry Maguire. With 3 years still left on his deal the Bills aren't going to blink. He can't holdout because the years just roll over. He'll loose his salary and still be under contract for 3 more years, Just a thought based on nothing more than pure speculation, but might there not be an ulterior motive behind the no-contact? Might Peters still be hurt from last season (didn't he have off-season surgery?) and taking the extra time to heal? (Or get a deal signed while the Bills are oblivious to the extent of his injuries.) Or what if he feels he won't pass the drug tests and is trying to cleanse his system before reporting? Again, just random speculation, but both scenarios make more sense than thinking its just about a new contract.
  4. Good point. Also, iinm, the Toronto games are considered Buffalo "Home" games. Meaning, if the people of Toronto don't sell out a game it's blacked out in the Buffalo market regardless of the distance.
  5. As of this morning there were $32.00 tickets for the game available on Stubhub. I guess Canadains are finding out how hard it is to get rid of preseason tix.
  6. "God is in his heaven, And we all want what's his, But power and greed and corruptible seed, seem to be all that there is" - Bob Dylan "Blind Willie McTell" "Then I got Mary pregnant, And man that was all she wrote, For my 19th birthday, I got a union card and a wedding coat, We went down to the courthouse, And the judge put it all to rest, No wedding day smiles, no walk down the aisles, no flowers, no wedding dress" - Bruce Springsteen "The River"
  7. Nice pics, thanks. Didn't realize JP was rocking the full beard.
  8. Haven't seen the show, but I think that her book "Vodka are you there? It's me, Chelsea" has one funny title.
  9. I'm coming with a group of 6 for the Thursday night practice.
  10. The Spikes situation is a great example of how supposed NFL "experts" get caught up in name worship. When the Bills traded him to Philly many talking heads labeled it as a sign of Buffalo's impending doom and the Eagles' rise to Super Bowl favorites. Now, it is evident that the Bills were right to jettison a once-great player who will never recpature lost glory.
  11. Just for the record, back in the day it was called "Playing the Dozens." Your Momma's so fat I took her to a dance and the band skipped. Your momma's so dumb when she went to an "R" rated movie and saw that "Under 17 not admitted," she left and came back with 16 of her friends. Your Momma's so dumb I saw her at the post office trying to mail a fruit basket with a food stamp. Your momma's so short you can see her feet on her driver's licence photo.
  12. Great, a brand new poster with an unfounded rumor concerning a ficticious KFFL report. That's a first here!
  13. Howard Stern had this on his show this morning. Really well done by Kid Rock.
  14. You're in my thoughts and prayers, Millbank. Get well soon!
  15. What a cool design. Technology may usher in a new era. Skyscraper
  16. The name you're looking for is Shane Matthews.
  17. Has anyone ever seen The Stoned Age? (Referenced above) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Stoned_Age Alot like D and C, captures the 70s really well.
  18. The Nadal/Federer final was one for the ages. Reminded me of Borg/McEnroe. Welcome back, Tennis, to relevency on the American sports landscape.
  19. Reggie Corner Patrick Pass (Can't think of any more that relate to a position or action)
  20. Carlin did an HBO special a couple of years back and opened with a blistering 5-minute monologue filled with hilarious, contrasting statements. My favorite: "I have a love child who sends me hate mail." R.I.P. George
  21. If anyone in Ringo's band is in a rubber skirt, I'm asking for a refund. I think getting called out by Grace Slick is a badge of honor.
  22. Checking one off of the bucket list this week as I see my first ever concert from the front row. It's Ringo Starr and his All-Star band at the Fallsview Casino in NF, Ontario. Band members are Billy Squier, Edgar Winter and Gary Wright (among others). Has anyone ever sat front row at a show? Any tips on what to do? Is a camera appropriate that close? (Gringo - I'll say Hi for you)
  23. Man, I am in shock. I spoke with Tim when I was writing my book. He had written "Russ and Me," but it hadn't come out yet. A great guy who wore his love of Buffalo on his sleeve. May the angels be your guide Tim. R.I.P
  24. Put him on the "All-Time Name List" right now!
  25. If you remember, last year at this time John Clayton was it town raving about the fact that JP was hitting every throw. Once the pads when on, he wilted like a delicate flower. So yeah, I think he might win a camp battle, but I want a guy who will win games.
