Well, there is a game on Sunday – you know, “Squish the Fish,” and all that jazz. The two teams aren’t playing for anything other than draft order. Sure, Miami is still mathematically alive for the playoffs, but so are the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA and you know there’s no chance of that happening. This week, our Pre-Snap reads look will be one made backward as we list the “5 Most Hated Dolphins of All-Time.” http://niagarahub.fatcow.com/category/nfl-football/

The new lease: the cynic's view
ChevyVanMiller replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm with Promo. It's a much better deal than I ever envisioned them getting done. It secures the team for 7 solid years and gives the area 2,556 days to figure out how to finance a new stadium to keep them here forever (maybe with a new owner that will hire competent people). Great job by Mark Poloncarz! Thank you! -
Just to clarify: The column is 5 moves that I would make now - as in over the last two games of the season. There are a host more - and you've touched on many - that I would do in the off-season. If I was in charge, Gailey would be gone now, so that I have the first hop in cherry-picking the young coach/college coach field, Nix would be told that it's Whaley's team the second the game with the Jets is through. Lots of great ideas being put forth, though. Too bad the Bills don't create a Fan Forum and get some input from their shareholders on the big decisions.

If the Bills had waited until the end of last season to resign Fitz - and I'm not faulting them for striking when they did, based on the numbers he was putting up at the time - he would have signed for half of what he did - maybe less. So, based on his career numbers, it's a King's contract for sure.

(NBA-Related)Ricky Rubio's between the legs pass...
ChevyVanMiller replied to The Poojer's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Love watching Rubio play. He's the closest thing to the master of them all - Pistol Pete - and they look a bit alike, too. -
"The entire season has been a huge regression for a team with playoff aspirations. The easy schedule turned into a Herculean task that proved to be an epic failure for both the coaches and the players. The franchise QB has turned out to be a commoner with a King’s contract." http://niagarahub.fatcow.com/category/nfl-football/

Thought I'd have a little fun with two of my favorite (favourite?) SCTV characters. "Bob McKenzie: What a big week, eh? American football – that’s with 4 downs and no 55-yard line – comes to Canada for a big showdown at Rogers Centre – that’s with an “re” at the end, you American hosers." http://niagarahub.fa...y/nfl-football/

"We're using each other as references on our resumes, right?"

"Gailey is a bad coach whose fallback position is conservatism. If he had tried the two-pointer, the field goal or went for it on 4th and 7 and failed, most Bills’ fans would have at least felt that their team went down swinging. Instead, they tucked their tail between their legs and walked gingerly into the postseason protecting what is left of their ever-shrinking scrotums." http://niagarahub.com/2012/12/10/bills-thrills-bills-don-their-gailey-off-season-apparel/

"All of those moments were amazing, but they pale in comparison to C.J. Spillers 44-yard gallop for a TD in the 4th quarter. Spillicious hit the edge and shifted into a gear that Maserati is still hoping to achieve. If Fred Jackson was the meat and potatoes of the Bills’ attack in this game, then Spiller was the Crème Brule that left the taste buds vibrating with satisfaction." http://niagarahub.co...s-nation-yawns/
