  1. Thanks, Rubes. Let's hope he's doing another one of a great play that sinks the *Pats this week.
  2. Sorry if this has already been posted, but if you haven't seen it Brian Baldinger breaks down the game winning TD against Oakland. It was the same set that they used on the pass to Chandler earlier where he was spun around on the goal line. The Raiders bit hard and Fitz said he took an extra second to make sure he was actually reading it right that nelson was uncovered. Best part is Chandler at the end slapping Fitz as the QB laughs while saying, "They didn't cover him." Anatomy of a Play - Nelson TD against Raiders
  3. Can't find fault with any of your points. Let me add one more: I think the Bills will need to "steal" a TD in this game. maybe that happens on something like a punt block or a return for 6. Maybe it's a fake field goal or a pick-six, but I think if you're going to break a 15 out of 16 losing streak (or whatever the dreadful number is) you're going to have to roll the bones a bit and roll a 7 the hard way.
  4. Power rankings week, Win and we're top 5, Baby! Lose? Hello, thirty-two
  5. The O line has been a revelation. Pears is making me forget that I ever screamed for them to get Claybo.
  6. ESPN has a great feature where they list their research stats below their game columns. Some interesting stuff on the Bills yeaterday, including this nugget: NEXT LEVEL: Ryan Fitzpatrick picked apart the Raiders' secondary with underneath throws, throwing the game-winning touchdown pass and completing 69 percent of his passes on throws fewer than 10 yards. Last season, Fitzpatrick ranked in the bottom five in the NFL in completion percentage and NFL passer rating on throws of that distance. Fitz connected on a lot of deep balls last year what is setting him apart this year is his quick reads and precision throws underneath. If that continues he is going to be very "Brady-like" and hard to stop. Bills/Raiders Recap
  7. I just got around to the morning paper and read that quote and the first thing I thought is, really? Did you forget about a cat you once had named Bill Polian that did little else but put your team in the Super Bowl year after year?
  8. I can't imagine why they wouldn't let those balloon hats in the stadium. They were featuring a lot of the kids on the telecast of that game and the balloons would have made for great TV images.
  9. He wasn't in any chicken wing eating contest in Orchard Park, was he?
  10. Hope you enjoy... I can think of some other places where "mom" might want to make an appearance. How about putting "mom" on billboards on the interstate saying things like, "If your friend drove his crotch rocket off the road at 100 miles an hour because he wanted to be cool, would you do it, too?" or "As long as you're texting while you're driving you might as well send one to 9-1-1 and ask for an ambulance -- you're gonna need one soon, missy." My latest
  11. Uncool - even in jest!
  12. Just want to second the sentiment. I'm going to enjoy each win this season and not lot any malcontents steal my bliss. The Bills have played some mind-numbingly bad football the past few years and that game Sunday was something else. I'll take a 34-point win anyday and I'll damn well thump my chest and scream "Bring on the Raiders (or whomever is next)!!!!!"
  13. Wonder how much Easley's absence allowed Scott Chandler to factor into the passing game. Maybe with easley in Chan sticks with his 4-WR sets and Scotty boy doesn't have the huge game that he had Sunday.
  14. In a word, "No." The D was designed to stop the run against the best rushing offense in the NFL last year and they did just that. They smothered the ball carrier on most plays right at the line of scrimmage. It's not Washington/Williams yet, but it's moving in that direction.
  15. Listened to Sal for the first time this weekend. What a great addition to WGR. Dope and the Bulldyke are just horrible, but it is usually a deep drop to the other GR personalities - many of whom can't speak in full sentences and routinely search for the proper words to describe their thoughts (a bad shortcoming considering the profession they chose to try and make it in). Sal was articulate and entertaining and made a great point about Charlie Weiss.
  16. Great article. Also loved that he calls the Lincoln Towncar "Abraham."
  17. Neighborly Love What a mom. Here's her quote to police about how she prepared for her trysts with the underaged boy... "She also reportedly told police that prior to the first sexual episode, she popped Xanax, smoked weed and knocked back a few cans of Four Loko."
  18. It wasn't last year when Stevie caught 80+ balls. I think Easley should get the nod.
  19. Maybe the single longest internal response to a thread in TSW history, but I enjoyed reading every one of these "boneheaded" decisions by coaches and want to thank you for kindly omitting Wade and the "Music City Miracle" debacle. Cheers...
  20. Here's five syllables, To go with these here seven, Oh, and take 5 more
  21. Went to the game last night (Thanks eball for the tix). If there were 10,000 there it was generous. It's a shame that the league charges season ticket holders for these sham games. Thought Sully summed it up perfectly in his column today: "The Lions' offensive and defensive starters played four plays each. The Bills' starters were on for seven plays. And the NFL has the nerve to charge full price for these games. It's like showing up for the Philharmonic, then having the middle school orchestra take over a few minutes into the concerto." I think they should at least cut the price and donate all of the unsold tickets to local kid's groups serving the underprivlidged.
  22. You'll have to explain to the young'uns how Fred Taylor and Rob Johnson are connected. Then you'll have to explain the Flutie/Johnson battle. Then you'll have to explain the Flutie benching and loss of job in a meaningless regular season finale. Then you'll have to explain "Homerun Throwback." Nah, it's better left unsaid. Yeah, Taylor's retirement ends it alright.
  23. Scott posted that he is going on WBEN today (didn't say what time) to talk about the parking issue. Maybe he can mention what is happening with the town and the signs, especially because the Pinto man is in your lot now, I'm sure that it would resonate with even casual fans of the team.
  24. I'm going to offer a blanket apology to all of TSW for starting this topic - wow! I knew it was out of control when I heard Howard Simon reference it on WGR this morning.
