  1. Wish him well, but happy to see him leave WGR. He is highly inarticulate, the king of the malapropism and his overuse of the phrase, "by no means," drove me up a wall. He seems like a truly good guy, but he simply does not possess the spontaneous verbal fluidity needed of a professional radio personality.
  2. Seems a little nuts that the boys football team can wear pink unis in October for Breast Cancer Awareness, but the girls, who actually have breasts and one day may develop cancer, cannot because their season doesn't start until December.
  3. This guy is the top suspect. http://vimeo.com/120931456
  4. That's a must read for anyone still fretting last place. Murray has put together one of the worst goalie tandems of recent times.
  5. Agreed, but it sure beats talking about the sub- freezing weather for the 35th consecutive day.
  6. It's not IMO - as in, "in my opinion." It's lowercase, lmo - as in "L" for Leroi and mo, as in "money" (on his) "opinions."
  7. They get outshot by a 3-1 margin because they don't have the talent of other teams. Scoring on 2 out of 3 shots in the first period last night, that is what a slighted coach brings to the table.
  8. Who would've thought that a season spent in 30th would have such tension and drama?
  9. I think the jump in effort and determination wasn't so much to do with the trade, but rather had everything to do with the reporting of the rumor that GMTM is keen on dumping Nolan at the end of the year in favor of Luke Richardson. One scribe called it, "The worst kept secret in the NHL." I bet that Nolan used that, coupled with the shake-up of the trade, and sold the team on the concept that, "They're sacrificing all of us for one of the two golden boys, so let's rain on their parade, shall we boys?"
  10. I have never been so pissed off about a win - ever!
  11. RIP Bill. You sound like a great guy and Bills fan and I'm sorry we never had the pleasure to meet. May the Bills win a SB this year in your honor.
  12. According to multiple league scribes GMTM already has his new coach picked out - Luke Richardson. http://the6thsens.com/2015-articles/report-luke-richardson-will-be-pursued-by-sabres-to-be-next-head-coach.html
  13. Thought this clip added something to the thread. Best part is reaction from other contestant.
  14. It's so cold I saw a Greyhound Bus today and the dog was riding on the inside. Ba-dum-ba.
  15. I can't see any scenario where GMTM doesn't deal Neurvith by Monday's deadline. Even if it's for vague future considerations, probably with an agreement that he wants to re-sign him back in the offseason.
  16. Watching this tape of the (widely assumed to be rigged) 1985 NBA Lottery would be a good start. Notice the bent corner on the Knicks envelope.
  17. Nothing like a 2 goal loss to calm the old nerves.
  18. Kid they got 2nd overall last year, Sam Reinhart, is tearing up juniors and was the leader and star player on Canada's World Junior gold medal team last month. He won't be a 60-goal scorer, but he'll be an annual 30 plus guy, with twice as many assists. He sees the ice with uncanny ability and has that rare talent of being able to anticipate where the puck is going before it gets there.
  19. The quiet Beatle covers Dylan.
  20. If you think about it the right way this has been the best Sabres year in a long time. Rooting against them has been quite fun and you're left with a positive night 80% of the time. Throw in watching the suddenly hot Edmonton Oilers win and it's a party nearly every night. All of the tank haters will come around quick once they see Jack Eichel tearing it up in the Blue and Gold next year.
  21. Fwiw, looking in the Trivia section of your links, Eichel went 25 slots higher than McDavid in the KHL draft. Here's a nice little piece on Eichel showing a few of his laser-shot goals. http://m.wcvb.com/sports/babyfaced-bu-freshman-jack-eichel-could-be-nhls-top-pick-in-draft/31345874
  22. Agreed. The debate over who was the fifth Beatle is an easy answer - it was George Martin.
  23. "Picture it, you and me in a darkened theater showing '50 Shades of Grey,' of course the one where they cover the seats in plastic."
