  1. Pierre McGuire talks about the Phenom Jack Eichel http://www.tsn.ca/radio/toronto-1050/mcguire-eichel-poised-and-under-control-1.376052
  2. This may have already been discussed somewhere in this thread, but I thought this snippet in the CBS story was interesting: The Bills reportedly wanted Matt Simms, who is on the Falcons' practice squad, but Simms declined because he thinks he has a better future in Atlanta.
  3. Yeah, I agree. I thought he would have spent all Summer cooking up a special Eichel goal call. On a related note, RJ once shared that his best goal call was one he never got to make. When Clint Malarchuk was the goalie and Dale Hawerchuk and Dave Andreychuk were forwards, he was waiting for a play where the goalie would send the puck up to Dale who would then feed Dave for a goal in front of the net. The call? "Here a 'chuk, there a 'chuk, everywhere a 'chuk, chuk."
  4. Eichel's filthy goal wins it for the sabres. http://www.cbssports.com/nhl/eye-on-hockey/25337143/watch-jack-eichel-scores-incredible-goal-to-lead-sabres-over-blue-jackets
  5. The ever uninspiring Mike Rodak actually says the Titans recovered that kick in his latest column on ESPN.
  6. One more... 11) Easley should be made to do push-ups in the aisle on the entire plane ride back to Buffalo.
  7. That's tough. Would you trade for an experienced goalie or ride Johnson and see if he can elevate his game?
  8. Rapid Reaction - 10 Observations About Today's Game 10) The Bills had no business winning this game. They were outplayed through 3 1/2 quarters and had almost zero offensive output, but they found a way to win. Many fans won't allow themselves to find any joy in this win, but at the end of the day it's a "W" and it's also a conference win. Good teams find ways to win on bad days - The Bills did that today. 9) Chris Hogan came up big on the game-winning drive. He caught a huge bomb, nearly threw for the TD (wow, Greg Roman) and made a nice catch on a low throw for the TD. 7-11 was open when it mattered most today. 8) The defense won the game today and they should all get game balls. They did a great job of limiting Mariota and finally got some real pressure from the front four. Cold weather football is on the horizon, it's comforting to see the Cold Front showing up on radar. 7) The plan was to run the ball, use short, controlled passes to move the sticks while protecting a young QB with limited NFL starts and play stout defense. It almost worked perfectly - for the Titans. The Bills had a similar game plan, but they again sleepwalked through the first half where they didn't even cross midfield. You won't win many games in the NFL playing 30 minutues of offense or less. 6) Denarius Moore we hardly knew ya. The recently signed WR and PR took back his first kick and immediately put the ball on the astroturf. That's not the way to lock down one of only 32 punt return positions in all of the league. Let's hope that Marcus Thigpen didn't sublet his apartment yet. 5) Boom went bust, Boobie didn't flash and Cierre failed to give anyone Wood. The Bills need Shady and Karlos to get well soon. 4) Tyrod finally let loose and ran the ball today and the results were stunning. His run on both the first TD play and the long 3rd down play on the final scoring drives were things of beauty. He was the Bills best runner today and that may be true even when the starting and backup RBs return. Especially until Watkins can come back healthy and revive the passing game, the call from the Bills sideline should be a Jenny-inspired, "Run, Tyrod, Run!" 3) The Bills should fair catch every punt. Seriously. They must be the most penalized team in the NFL on punt returns. They start so many drives backed up to their goal line and it's a real momentum killer. 2) The Bills should also award a game ball to Titans Head Coach Ken Whisenhunt. The Tennesee head man was so conservative today Fox News offered him a news anchor seat. Kicking a field goal with a very short 4th down, punting on another 4th and short with just a few minutes left in the game and only 1 time-out left? That's the type of ultra-safe coaching that gets a team beat and it certainly did today. 1) The bottom line is that the Bills improved to 3-2, picked up another conference win and now have a critical showdown with the Bengals at the Ralph next Sunday. Nobody calling the Whiner Line will enjoy this one, but you should. Ugly wins count just the same in the standings and today's was a double-bagger that still tastes far sweeter than a loss surely would have.
  9. As I understand it, until the puck crossed back out of the Ottawa zone. So, theoretically, it could be many minutes. Ridiculous.
  10. It wasn't "thrown" until after the goal was scored. It's a very bad look for the league, imo. Challenge a goal, sure, but not an offside nearly a full minute before the goal.
  11. A bunch of the guys from Bills Fan Thunder, who run a charity that takes underprivileged kids to their first Bills game, have entered a commercial into the Doritos $1 Million contest. It's currently the top watched and rated. Click here to view and vote: http://crashthesuperbowl.doritos.com/video/332
  12. Thanks, Tom. Knew I could count on you.
  13. This is the most entertaining thread in a long time. I need to run and get some popcorn, please hold all comments ....................................................................................okay, I'm back. Carry on.
  14. I drive this stretch of the QEW often, it's between Ft. Erie and Niagara Falls. Of all of the things you could imagine running out onto the highway in front of you a Buffalo would fall somewhere between a Giraffe and a Sasquatch. Pretty unreal and thank God the driver wasn't killed.

  16. If a half a chicken laid a half an egg in half a day, how long would it take for a wooden leg monkey to kick the dills out of a pickle?
  17. If they sign any running back not named Bryce Brown you'd have to think that Brown must have overturned a gas can and set the bridge ablaze on his way out last month.
  18. Did you see my pm, 26?
  19. Rapid Reaction - 10 Observations About Today's Game 10) From Greg Williams to Mike Mularkey to Dick Jauron to Chan Gailey to Doug Marrone and now to the Great Rex Ryan, Bills coaches of the past 15 years or so seem to have these stinker games where their teams mostly no-show big home games just after the national media starts to give them some love. It's not hard to understand why Bills fans have adopted the phrase, "One hunderd times bitten, eternally shy." 9) Least penalized team in the league? I'd take least penalized team in the game. The Bills saw so much yellow in this game doctors at ECMC want to check them all for jaundice. Preston Brown and Jerry Hughes seem to have wagered a few Benjamins as to which one of them will break the all-time record for personal fouls in a season. That said, the holding call on Urbik that nullified Tyrod's beautiful TD run was very ticky-tacky. 8) Speaking of Tyrod, I know he wants to prove to the world that he can be a pure pocket passer, but it is coming at the expense of him turning down some running opportunities that appear to have the potential to go for big gains. The play where he was called for an illegal forward pass was a great example. He could have picked up 20 yards easy if he had tucked and ran. 7) Bradham just has to make that tackle on 3rd and short. Games are won and lost on simple plays sometimes and, quite simply, that missed tackle sank the Bills today. 6) If I'm not mistaken, the Bills have not successfully defended a 2-pt conversion this entire season. If I was an opposing coach I would go for 2 every time against Buffalo until they show they can stop someone. 5) What happened to the vaunted front four? They are probably the highest paid defensive foursome in the NFL, but they have been as invisible as Donald Trump's restraint in the face of a Megyn Kelly question. Teams are somehow finding ways to neutralize what was supposed to be the greatest strength of this team. That has to change if the playoffs are to remain a real possibility. 4) After a couple of early drops, Charles Clay rebounded with a big game. He is the best TE this team has had going all the way back to the Keith McKeller, Pete Metzelaars days. If Sammy ever comes back healthy, Clay will be even more dangerous. 3) I still am a Tyrod Taylor fan. He keeps his composure and always has his eyes down field. He put 14 points on the scoreboard that penalties brought back. Whatever ails the Bills, it ain't the QB. 2) It's time to find out just how good of a coach Rex Ryan truly is. His team is ignoring the old Marv Levy axiom and they're playing dumb and they're playing dirty. Fix the penalties and you'll fix the W column. That's all on Sexy Rexy. 1) The big picture is that it was an out-of-conference loss. The type you want to have if you have to take one. The next five are all in conference and winnable. Time to stop talkin' the talk and prove you can walk the walk.
  20. Scoring won't be a problem this year, but the goaltending is suspect.
  21. It's owned by an United Arab Emirates Sheik so the gas bill isn't a problem.
