  1. Boeheim's Army stages massive comeback to reach semis. http://www.syracuse.com/orangebasketball/index.ssf/2017/07/boeheims_army_3.html
  2. I wonder if the Shattenkirk deal is still on the table for tomorrow?
  3. I like the trade, if for no other reason than to shake up the status quo. Foligno and Ennis weren't going to be the missing pieces to a Cup win.
  4. I am exercising the clause in my contract to opt-out of smiling.
  5. In the draft, yes, but it is assumed that a lot of, "If you take this guy, we'll flip you this player or asset afterward" deals are being agreed to.
  6. Man Dies While Making Love to Wife - "He Came And Went, She Said."
  7. I remember a few years ago Howard Simon was on extolling the virtues of Jenny Craig. I guess that was a short-lived success.
  8. When you hear any of these four guys being interviewed you hear the same themes of discipline, culture, analytics, systems, etc. It is a radical departure from what recent teams of both the Bills and Sabres have exhibited both on and off of the field (ice). Malcolm Gladwell proposed the theory that you need at least 10,000 hours in your chosen field to begin to reach expert status. The Pegulas' have just crossed that threshold and it shows in these recent hires. I believe that we are in the early stages of what will be golden eras for both franchises. You know what? We damned well deserve it!
  9. Seeing as how I am the same age as Housley, I'll take "youngish" as a compliment. Great hire, will be the right guy to build a top defense to compliment the young stars in the forward ranks.
  10. What a sad ending to a long and winding sad life. May you find peace on the other side, James. RIP
  11. Another piece on the Lake Ontario sightings. http://www.wgrz.com/news/local/ufos-over-lake-ontario-we-have-the-answer/442536965
  12. I've been waiting for a long time to see this practice put into play. There is no salary cap for coaches and front office personnel, so why not spent to get a team of the very best? I really do believe that a new Golden Age of Bills football is just on the horizon, and no I'm not drinking the Kool-Aid.
  13. Your Bills brothers and sisters are with you in spirit, Blokes. Hate will never win.

  15. Explosion happened as crowd was leaving show in Manchester, England. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/live/2017/may/22/manchester-arena-ariana-grande-concert-explosion-england
  16. I think you're selling him short. He sure looks like a solid top-4 D-man to most observers.
  17. Really nice memorial by Jeff Miers of the Buffalo News. http://buffalonews.com/2017/05/18/chris-cornell-1964-2017/
  18. One of the greats, RIP, Chris
  19. I guess it's just perspective. As someone that has been on this board for years it's been difficult reading many of the incessant threads from former bbmbers detailing every inane and repetitive thought that enters their overworked brains. As Augie said, there are some fine additions, but you've got to spit out a lot of seeds to get to that sweet fruit.
  20. This one is good to hear: 22. Over at the World Championships, the vultures circled, wondering if the changes in Buffalo meant defenceman Viktor Antipin would waver on his decision to join the Sabres. But it sounds like he’s sticking with his original decision. Not for lack of trying.
  21. Nice read. I know we've all come to distrust what guys say coming out of the gate here in Buffalo, but I really think the Pegula's have finally figured out how to get the right people running their sports teams. We just may be in the early days of the next golden era.
  22. According to the Bills PR Dept. his last name is pronounced "Shane."
  23. They had one child, a son named Richie. Which reminds me of the craziest trivia question that I know the answer to: what was Richie's middle name? The answer is Rosebud. No that's not the crazy part, The crazy part is that it is an acronym for many different names that were being offered up to Rob and Laura as she was nearing her due date for delivery. Rosebud stands for Robert, Oscar, Samuel, Edward, Benjamin, Ulysses, David. I have no idea why that stuck in my brain but I've won a few bar bets with that question.
  24. Another bright, young, mind in the mix. This team is finally moving in the right direction.
  25. I'm going old school - Hugh Beaumont (Leave it to Beaver) and Donna Reed (The Donna Reed Show).
