Embarrassing sports admissions
ChevyVanMiller replied to Ridgewaycynic2013's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Not sports related, but when I was a kid in the 1970s there was a Corner Store about to open in our neighborhood. The sign went up with the slogan, "Open 7 days 'til Midnight." I actually asked my dad, "Why would they go through all of that trouble to build a store that is only going to be open for a week?" -

I met Johnny Bravo at the World's Largest Disco and that's just groovy, man. -
Glad you're here. Here's to the next 10 years of posting.

Favorite Michael Jackson/Jackson 5 Song?
ChevyVanMiller replied to Another Fan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
From his adult years, but here is his most poignant, powerful and ever-relevant song. -
Welcome to the bandwagon. There is actually an official Sabres thread that many of us have been posting in for years.

Farting controversy clouds dart championship...
ChevyVanMiller replied to Deranged Rhino's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I give you high marks for the clever use of the word "clouds" in the title. Well done. -
Just wait until he gets the neck tattoo. I smell a Stanley Cup in Buffalo's future.

GoFundMe Campaign for Homeless Man a lie/fraud
ChevyVanMiller replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Having a bit of experience in organizing a wildly successful GoFundMe campaign I was really taken aback by the.sham these people executed. They should all get significant jail time. i knew something was rotten when the stories started surfacing that the couple was refusing to give the homeless vet more money because he was going through it too quickly. I had GFM transfer all of the money directly to Darryl Talley as soon as the campaign ended and he decided to accept the fans' generosity. If I hadn't, not only would it have been unethical, but I would have had tax liability. One of the best qualities about mankind is our willingness to lend a hand to someone that is down, even when we may have little ourselves. Anyone that would prey upon those sympathies is the lowest of the low. I guess the moral of the story is: if you're going to give follow the lead of Bills fans. From Darryl to Dalton to the Chicago Bears charities we never misstep. -
I was talking about the Snickers commercial, not the wonderful one the OP posted.

One of the greatest pickers ever. RIP

I thought this thread was going to be about the Snickers commercial where he starts singing. "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" and then he bites into the candy bar and morphs into a crappy rapper. I can't figure out why he would debase himself like that - he's a living freaking legend.

One of the most creative minds ever. I'm thankful that my childhood wish to see his great cavalcade of characters make it to the silver screen came to fruition. RIP, Mr. Lee

Just a minor aside from yesterday's game: The Jets actually had three different players called for holding on the SAME play. I can't ever remember seeing that before, I wonder how often it's happened in the history of the league? Just a testimony to how dominant the Bills D has been - if you can't beat 'em, try and cheat 'em!

Today’s game does not ease my concerns about McDermott
ChevyVanMiller replied to cgg716's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A piece of advice: Just enjoy a win without trying to find a black cloud to temper the rainbow. Blowout wins are a fleeting thing with this franchise - always have been - so just try to enjoy the warm glow for a day or two. You'll be a better man for it.
