Happy 90th Birthday Rick Azar
ChevyVanMiller replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in Off the Wall Archives
True story: When I was a teenager my father took me to see the movie Sophie's Choice. We went a theater in Amherst and sitting in the row in front of us was Rick Azar. I was transfixed, as we always had Eyewitness News on at our home, and kept stealing glances at my daily link to the Bills and Sabres. As the movie came to a climax women in the audience were weeping loudly and the men were choking up. (If you've never seen it, don't seek it out. It is one of the most heart-wrenching movies ever made and I don't ever want to see it again.) The house lights came up and Rick stood up with tears in his eyes. Someone in his party said, "Well, what did you think?" Mr. Azar spoke for us all when he replied, "Heavy movie, man. Heavy movie." Happy Birthday, Rick! -
So Glad the Pegula's Bought the Bills !!
ChevyVanMiller replied to T master's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
If any of those other bidders had won, the team would have been moved as soon as the lease could be broken. I know the Pegula's haven't had much on field (or ice) success as owners, but they should forever be immortalized for saving pro sports in Buffalo. -
Come on, most Bills fans can't properly use Their, There and They're. For the lightly read: quix·ot·ic /kwikˈsädik/ adjective adjective: quixotic exceedingly idealistic; unrealistic and impractical. "a vast and perhaps quixotic project" synonyms: idealistic, unbusinesslike, romantic, extravagant, starry-eyed, visionary, utopian, perfectionist, unrealistic, unworldly;

I’ve been critical of Ice’s post here in the past. In my line of work I read people and my instincts are rarely wrong. Something about his persona doesn’t sit right with me. I don’t know if it’s because he might not be from Wisconsin at all ( he posted a lot about the Bills game at Green Bay last season until game week. Then, when guys that were making the road trip started reaching out to him, possibly looking to buy him a beer while they were in town, he went silent). I’ve also been told that he was on the old BBMB for years with the same schtick. It also appears that he is on many other team’s message boards under various Packer handles with the same, “By gosh by golly, just want to wish you fellas the best of luck” routine. He may just be the nicest football fan in America, but my spider sense says otherwise. Whatever his motives they just don’t ring true to me. With that said, it appears that he entertains the majority here and I can appreciate that my viewpoint is in the minority, so I will simply refrain from clicking on his posts and wish him and his Packers well.
