  1. Yes, maybe lower. Pears was abysmal! I think he was a lower end RT, but playing him at OG and then continuing to do so after he failed miserably time and time again was surreal. Henderson made more sense at OG and leave Pears at RT. The biggest knock was he couldn't run block, but was an average pass blocker. Williams was a horrible signing by all accounts. How could anyone expect Cyril to contribute, let alone start after watching him in the Senior Bowl? Did you see the game? JFHC! I've never seen a player perform so far below expectation. I was embarrassed for him and that was before we selected him as he plummeted down the draft board. Passed over by all other teams when he was originally thought to be a low end #1! What don't we get? All three OL picks may pan out over time, but OL was our greatest need going into the 2014 draft and we squandered our stellar D play this year by gambling on Watkins as a future HoFer and then reaching for each OL pick. It didn't work, did it? Anyway, we can argue all day about what could have been, should have been. As a Bills fan, I was embarrassed by 13 yards rushing against the freaking two win Oakland Raiders where we made Kamil Mack look like the second coming of Dick Butkis, Tommy Nobiss, and Mike Curtis just to date myself.
  2. Really? Let me try. They don't know how to scout offensive players! They can't evaluate OL talent at all. Worst OL in football after "addressing" the OL with three picks and a FA? Cost us the playoffs for sure. Middle of the road QBs look very good behind talented OLs. There are no great QBs playing behind bad OLs. The year is summed up by the hard and cold statistical reality of 13 yards rushing @ Oakland when it mattered. http://espn.go.com/blog/buffalo-bills/post/_/id/16034/bills-offensive-line-ranks-31st-in-bruschis-index https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2014/10/08/offensive-line-rankings-2/ Let me spend two 1st and a 4th and I bet I can get an adequate WR every time. Thing is, Watkins grades out as the fourth best rookie WR this year, not the future HoF he is made out to be. Guess time will tell. Goodwin appears to be a track star and little else. To answer your Brown question - BECAUSE HE FUMBLES! Always has, likely always will.
  3. I really agree with your comment that we need athletic and smart OL (see GB, Denver, Pats, etc) We need someone at OBD who can evaluate OL talent. We don't need to spend 1st round picks on OL if we have front office talent who can sort the wheat from the chaff in rounds three and four. Maronne spent too much time trying to coach up the marginal OL talent and failed miserably. I can't say how much of a voice he had in selecting Cyrus and Cyril, but as fast as he gave up on them, I suspect he was not an advocate. But! Henderson? Are you joking?! He struggled mightily on a line where he was arguably the middle of the pack performer behind both OG positions. All three may pan out in the future, but we needed OL help last year and the strategy of trading for Watkins and reaching for both "Cs" really hurt us and I believe cost us the playoffs this year. "...only two tackles allowing more pressure than Seantrel Henderson." https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2014/10/08/offensive-line-rankings-2/ http://espn.go.com/blog/buffalo-bills/post/_/id/16034/bills-offensive-line-ranks-31st-in-bruschis-index
  4. Damn, beat me to it! LOL! Maybe Jimmy Johnson then?
  5. No to Shannie - has been at best. He doesn't seem to be on anyone's radar.
  6. Schwartz stays whether at DC or HC. We need to fill gaping holes on the offensive side of the ball, which has been truly offensive. OC/HC savant and leave the D alone. Check out our OL ranking. https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2014/10/08/offensive-line-rankings-2/ Number 32 in the NFL. Personally, I think that ranking is too generous. If you take into account other teams back ups, second and third string, we probably fall to the mid 50s. Solve the OL and OC and we go places.
  7. Cyril and Cyrus were both busts imo. We desperately needed help on the OL in 2014 and that's why they were selected, not as development prospects. I hope they do develop in time and may turn out to be great players, but we really needed the help in 2014. The selections and their ability cost us the playoffs. Enough about QB play, we had the worst OL in football. 13 yards...?
  8. Still a football game that both teams wanted to win. Yeah, Patsies rested a few guys and Bills had Dareus and both starting CBs out but still beat Brady in 1st half. Hollow win for sure, but still a win and gets the monkey off our back for losing in NE. Next year's monkey is playoffs. Difference today was the OL play. Orton had time to throw in the first half and made most of his throws. Second half we lost Cordy and played Cyril and we had no run game and poor pass protection. Upgrade the OL at any and all costs this offseason and we make the playoffs next season! "...ended the Pats' 35-game home winning streak against the AFC, their 16th straight overall home regular-season run and a 17-gamer against the AFC East." Love it!
  9. Of course it did at the time. Might need to change your handle too. 9-7 is a step forward even when it doesn't feel like it.
  10. +1 exactly! They'll get more than a 5th though for sure...
  11. Agreed. Wood is ranked as the 27th best Center in NFL (ProFootballFocus.com) and he's our best lineman. LT regressed and RT is raw. OGs are both pitiful. Need to get better across the line. C and OT are average while OGs are an embarrassment. Maybe the rooks will develop during the off-season?
  12. I agree. Orton is not the answer and unless we get the second coming of Johnny Unitas along with RG3s mobility not one friggin QB will ever succeed when paired with this OL and OC combination. Hackett...cya. OL is abysmal from end to end. No one blocked Mack including our much heralded 7th round pick! Cordy and Wood both are about average and they are the best we have. The D was schooled, but how many drives are they expected to stop after another 3 and out? Been saying this all year and before the draft. We need talent on the OL. All three OL picks this year were guys everyone else passed on. And we wasted the extra 1st rounder on Watkins to boot. Benjamin, Beckman, Evans are look better than Sammy. Maybe its the cast around him, but for two #1s I expect a lot more. Guess we wait until next year. Again. +1
  13. No worries - birth defect... The O beginning with the line, the OC the QB and the aged RB, the wasted two 1st RDers on the invisible WR is a freaking joke. That said, I agree that anything short of an easy win is a disappointment. But I made the trip up for the KC game and came away about as jaded as you can get. Watching Orton the last few games and I begin to see visions of starting EJ creeping back into my mind and I don't like it. I don't like it at all....
  14. Sorry you don't like my pic - what avitar? So what don't you like about the post? D needs to be physical? Maybe you can elaborate? No, I doubt it...
  15. Bills D needs to be aggressive. Stuff the run and jam receivers at the line. Big mean physical D will win this game. D has to dominate, play good special teams and Orton doesn't lose game with TOs. Anything short and we will lose. O can't be counted on to do squat. Sammy the invisible WR looks like he's playing scared. OL still sucks. Freddy can only do so much at his age and limited speed. Maybe Spiller is ready to help? 17-10 Buffalo!
  16. Spot on +1. QB play hasn't been very good, the play calling suspect, but the OL has been atrocious.
  17. I have to say that I am a bit disappointed having given up two number 1s with some many other glaring needs. Evans looks great and I would today rather have him and next year's #1 than Watkins. Time will tell if the decision to go after the top WR in the draft was a good one or not. He is a rookie and will get better, I think he could be scary good. Woods has shown improvement too and 7-11 looks like an ideal slot guy. We should be set at WR but I have no idea where to find a decent QB. I really hope the rookie OLmen develop for next year.
  18. I'd trade EJ for Kaep...
  19. Sorry, but no. I traveled for the KC game and came away very jaded and disappointed. This team is going nowhere this season whether they make the POs or not. The end of season schedule will provide the wake up call. Our D has carried us in some games but we will turn the corner when our OL progresses to the point of competence.
  20. Football is an outdoor game which is best played in the elements.
  21. Very depressed today....I really don't want to go to work...Wait this isn't Monday?! Bills ruin a perfectly good Friday....? Now I'm pissed!
