  1. WGR just reported Sharp Football has a great chart predicting all 32 NFL teams based on schedule analysis data. Bills predicted to win games in 2017. Here is the chart. Patriots 11 Dolphins 7.5 Bills 6 Jets 5.5 https://twitter.com/SharpFootball/status/858829833442402306/photo/1
  2. Yes, Bills needed to get back in the game sooner. The problem was hiring Rex and soon after all our top draft picks in 2015 and 2016 were defensive guys to fit Rex's system when we already had a loaded 4-3 defense. The Ragland trade screamed head coach over Whaley and the lost pick could have been Dak Prescott.
  3. What it would take for me is an open GM search where Bills seek the best candidates and don't demand the new GM be the chief scout for McDermott. That would increase my faith in the Bills short term and long term future.
  4. I wish people would stop putting EJ on Whaley as a crime that deserves the death penalty. Even if it was Whaley all the way which is not clear. The 2013 draft was terrible for QB's and everything else. If the Bills had not gone QB we very likely would have drafted a bust anyway. Good organizations move on. Ozzie Newsome drafted his EJ in Kyle Boller. A few years later they drafted Flacco and won a Superbowl. Bills could have got back to it and drafted a QB high but didn't do it.
  5. Son of Pegula. Terry sees Sean as the son he never had. Now Terry has adopted Sean's practice of writing random thoughts on index cards throughout the day and reassembling the index cards that night. Kim to Terry Pegula, "Why do you have 35 index cards all over the floor?" Terry, "Sean showed me how I can capture and control my ideas with index cards. This is great!!!!!"
  6. I think they wanted a video to show that everyone was collaborating and working together. That way if Sean's picks fail they can blame Doug.
  7. Yeah, our first pick is welcomed by Whaley and then Whaley is fired the next day along with all of the scouts. Not a sign of a healthy organization.
  8. I thought you wouldn't like the Corner in the 1st and two small Tampa 2 linebackers. I think this was the draft you would expect if you had a first time head coach who was also a first time GM with no front office experience picking players off a board from a scouting staff on their way out the door. The Zay Jones pick was a massive waste to trade up for. I think McDermott wanted to get a WR and his coach knew the guy. Low upside, just like the projected backup QB taken in the 5th. I hate the idea of cornerback but Tre White can play. Best cover skills coming out in the draft. He might not have as much upside as CB's going before him but he is plug and play. He also fills a need which is what McDermott looks to do. Best players are Tre White and Dion Dawkins. Zay Jones could be a WR #3 this year. 1st three picks were drafted for needs. That's how a coach drafts, not a GM. Too many picks thrown away trading up. Bills can't afford to keep burning picks which happens every year. Biggest mistake was punting on QB. I think Andy Reid and John Gruden know more about QB's than Sean McDermott. But that seems to be the Buffalo special, hiring defensive head coaches that don't value high quality QB play.
  9. Let's just say that Sean didn't want to draft a QB. It doesn't mean the Bills scouts and player personnel department who did the homework on the QB's agreed.
  10. Round 1- Patrick Mahomes, QB Texas Tech You never pass on a franchise QB if you don't have one to fill needs Round 2- Chris Godwin, WR Penn State Can step in as a #2 WR and has upside Round 3- Tim Williams, EDGE Alabama You need to rush the passer, especially in a scheme that doesn't blitz often Round 5- Desmond King, Safety Iowa Bills need more DB's and depth, very thin Round 5- Nate Hairston, CB Temple See Above Round 5- Jeremy McNichols, RB Boise State Can be productive NFL back with +receiving skills Round 6- Chad Kelly, QB Mississippi lottery ticket but can be more than a backup if he sticks My draft may not help as much this year but has far more upside and secures the QB of the future for less than the 3 1st round picks + it will take next year if the prospects are that great. This is a GM draft as opposed to the Coach draft we received from Sean McDermott.
  11. Let's just say you might be on to something.
  12. What does "run the draft" mean? Whaley might have but McDermott made the picks.
  13. Not in Buffalo. We do things a bit differently.
  14. Pretty cool segment where people argue about Zay Jones. NSFW language.
  15. You have to trust the process in order to change the culture to earn the right to win.
  16. I was a wrestler in high school. I just think the nickname suits him because Terry introduced him that way.
  17. Sal C carries water for Bills FO more aggressively than Chris Brown. It's really something.
  18. Sean The Wrestler.
  19. I don't know if this perfectly describes what happened but it could be close. Whaley's misses look a lot worse when you have a coach getting rid of productive players or putting them in positions where they can't succeed. And that coach forced on you by the owner. Pegulas get to blame Whaley for their mistakes.
  20. Correct. McDermott is the GM.
  21. But you have to admit, it's a very Billsy thing.
  22. Good luck Doug. You tried to make the Bills better and I applaud your efforts. I think your reputation would be improved if you just told people who really was pulling the strings but I expect you to be the company man to the end.
  23. Pegula working on the process. Actually he said 2 processes. One for Sabres and one for Bills.
  24. Whaley had a team ready to break the playoff drought and Pegulas hired Rex against Doug's recommendation. Pegulas are clueless and Doug should enjoy his free vacation.
