  1. Well, I don't think McDermott is a QB scout. My belief at this time is he decided he was going to fill needs at the draft and try to win with Tyrod this year. Which makes complete sense if you are a coach that sold the owner on making the playoffs this year.
  2. I heard a Mcvay interview on the radio while driving. Very impressed.
  3. I think I need an avatar change. Should I go Allen or Speight?
  4. And to be fair, I have no defined opinion on these guys yet. I just found it funny that the Kipers, McShays and Cosells always fall in love with trying to find the next Carson Wentz or Blake Bortles. I think I want the Bills to get Wilton Speight. He's tall and pro-style.
  5. No, I am not bringing it up. You are.
  6. Of course. The problem is we ran the last draft with McDermott as GM using a board from scouts he wanted to fire. Hard to trust that is the best process.
  7. Awful White QBs‏ @AwfulWhiteQBs May 2More 14 games of up-and-down tape in the Mountain West has Josh Allen a possible #1 pick. Mahomes, Watson & Kizer just lacked that one intangible
  8. Yes, I am aware of your strategy. I would never want my NFL team to avoid drafting a QB with a 1st or 2nd round pick and only go dumpster diving. Which is actually what the Bills have been doing for 2 decades now.
  9. No, but many of the scouts still working in the NFL are trying to draft players for the wrong decade. This is especially true for the QB position. Maybe that is your problem. I know people on here who insist that every opinion given needs to end with, In My Opinion. Basic reading comprehension can get rid of this need in most cases.
  10. Of course. No one bats 100%.
  11. He did make a huge leap after that year. But that was part of Dak's great intangibles as he went to coach and asked for an offense to better prepare for NFL.
  12. Yes, unfortunately a lot of scouts need to retire and let new people do the work.
  13. I don't want to spend too much time debating Zay Jones. I do think he he low upside and regardless you don't give up a 3rd round pick in a draft this loaded with talent to move up a few spots. Even if you love Zay Jones. I know people who think Zay Jones is a #3 or #4 WR.
  14. So you have time for opinions on what the right avatar should be for others but are too lazy to find one for yourself. Splendid. I was told his nickname should be glue because NFL defensive backs will be stuck to him.
  15. Where is your avatar? Maybe get one before you talk.
  16. It's funny that people want to keep bringing up someone that I am not bringing up.
  17. I've already gone over this a million times. I said before the draft that if I was going to just fill needs I would trade back from ten if no elite players on board. Players available in 20's similar to players taken 10-15. McDermott filled his CB need and acquired another pick. Which is fine if that's what you are trying to do. But then to get a WR and RT McDermott gave away picks in a very deep draft. The Zay Jones trade was very bad. Give away a 3rd round pick and get back a 5th to move up a few spots for a possession WR?
  18. Drafting for short term needs will leave a team with far less talent after a few drafts. See Levy-Jauron.
  19. Well, that would be better than your QB strategy of waiting for perfection. 20 years with no franchise QB but you want to pass on very good QB prospects while drafting Levi Browns.
  20. So we will now just draft to fill needs for the head coach while throwing away picks. Sign me up!
  21. Charlie Casserly made a great point on how Pete Carroll and Andy Reid were able to work with great GM's. Many people on this board have said look at these guys as an example of what Sean McDermott will be. But keep in mind that Pete Carroll did not have a prior relationship with John Schneider. He interviewed to find the best. And he listens to his GM even though he technically has the power. Carroll is one of the league’s best coaches; Schneider one of the league’s best general managers. Both have ego, and both have the pedigree to warrant such ego. But I always think back to one example that shows how and why their relationship has worked, and it happens to involve their most famous and important player: quarterback Russell Wilson. Schneider loved Wilson. He loved the way he “tilted” the field his way; you just had to focus on Wilson when he played. Schneider lobbied hard for him. Carroll and his coaches weren’t immediately convinced. As offensive line coach Tom Cable said, “We were just trying to understand what he could see in a guy who was undersized at that position.” Carroll told the MMQB that Schneider “convinced” him of Wilson’s value. Yet when Carroll and his coaches watched Wilson on the field during his rookie season, they saw what Schneider saw. http://www.seattletimes.com/sports/seahawks/dynamic-between-seahawks-pete-carroll-and-john-schneider-has-been-fantastic/
  22. I was going to change it but now that people are demanding things of me I will wait till the home opener.
  23. Sounds like someone needs a safe space. Don't worry, the real games will start soon. We shall see who actually understands things soon enough.
