  1. Do whatever you have to do to ensure that an elite/big/playmaking WR AND TE come into Buffalo on draft day 2014... Mike Evans or Kelvin Benjamin...and...Eric Ebron or Austin Seferian-Jenkins. (I don't care what else happens, as long as this does.) However, do NOT trade your 2016 1st round pick...that should be saved for the Jameis Winston sweepstakes.
  2. Brandon Spikes isn't "somewhat realistic?" He is a run-thumping MLB with attitude...EXACTLY what the Buffalo Bills need. Not to mention one of his favorite coaches is now on the Bills sideline. He would also have a shot (twice a year) of taking out the legendary QB of the team who gave up on him. But, "no thanks." Spikes isn't high on your list, but Jameel McClain is? lmao. Come on! (I will give you credit for your 1st two picks...that would make my offseason, exactly what I have been calling for since the fall...but Kelvin Benjamin would work too.)
  3. I say go after Jameel McClain instead...he is being released by Baltimore.
  4. I would love to see Ebron in the 1st, Benjamin in the 2nd...and Seantrel Henderson in the 3rd, but I don't think he falls that far. I don't remember a draft with so much talent that I REALLY wanted...I feel I'll be happy no matter what this year, unless they go O-line in round 1.
  5. Wow, I never realized Will Smith (not the Fresh Prince), was from Utica, NY. (Born in Queens.) I could see him joining one of the New Jersey teams. As for coming to Buffalo, I think they are all too old to be a part of what Marrone and the Bills are doing...but I could also see them joining New England. Do you think any of them would go out and join Gregg Williams in St. Louis, after all the "Bounty Scandal" stuff?
  6. Fair enough. With that, I will say I would much rather take a chance on Kenny Britt...someone who has put up decent numbers without an elite QB. Plus, James Jones is no bigger than Stevie Johnson, Robert Woods, Marcus Easley...and I think Kevin Elliott could develop into a James Jones-type, plus he is bigger than Jones. Something tells me they really like Kevin Elliott, due to hanging onto him the entire season, instead of releasing him on an injury settlement. I like his prospects... Elliott has been turning heads on the practice field with his play, but he's also dating one of Taylor's sisters. "I know Kevin pretty well. He's a big kid, strong, really physical, getting better in his development as a receiver, strong hands, catching the ball, real soft, he's a big kid and can establish position pretty well," Taylor said about Elliott. "His deal is special teams. He was a special teams guru back in school, so he has to show up on the special teams tape and that will afford him time to make the team as a receiver. He's been pretty solid so far I think." http://www.bigcatcountry.com/2012/8/8/3228438/kevin-elliot-jaguars-depth-chart-fred-taylor Positive: Adequately sized possession receiver who also helps out as a downfield blocker and special teams player. Gives effort running routes, comes back to the ball out of breaks and lays out or extends to make receptions. Makes the catch with defenders draped on him. Offers the quarterback a big target. Solid downfield blocker who seals running lanes for the ballcarrier. Negative: One-speed receiver who lacks a burst. Average production on the small school level. Analysis: Elliott was consistent on the college field but never an outstanding player. He does the little things well, offers reliable hands and can play special teams, which could help him secure a roster spot as a fifth receiver. http://www.draftinsider.net/reports/2012/WR/Kevin-Elliott Talented wide receiver prospect who caught 43 passes for 560 yards and eight touchdowns as a junior last season. He also plays basketball and runs track. http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=8&c=1&nid=2561924 He sounds to me a lot like who James Jones was when he came into the league, a #5 WR who could dominate on ST's. (And, again...he is bigger than Jones.)
  7. Jabari Greer, Jon Vilma, Will Smith and Roman Harper. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000325371/article/saints-part-ways-with-vilma-harper-greer-will-smith
  8. Just curious...does EVERY free agent WR have to have their own thread made for them? Why not do it by position, and discuss each positional free agent within said thread? Not trying to be a jerk, it just seems to be a bit much...by March there will be 100 individual threads discussing players at the same position. It is much easier to compare and contrast the potential contributions of James Jones, Kenny Britt and Eric Decker, amongst others...within one combined "FA WR's" thread.
  9. No chance (IMO) they cut Jerry Hughes, but he could become a valuable piece at the 2014 NFL trade deadline, if he produces through the first 5-6 weeks...and especially if a contender loses a pass-rusher to injury. The other side of it is, they could re-sign Hughes to take over full-time at DE for Mario...in a scenario where they trade him. (or cut him...but again, no chance of that happening. IMO)
  10. Giving him too much credit...he owns trucker rest stops. Clearly, Haslam would know a lot more about "hitches" and "wagons" (trailers), than Ross would.
  11. 1 of the best WR's of all-time, and one of the Bills' better WR's in recent history...I would bet they helped him way more than we think or know. http://www4.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Buffalo%2BBills%2Bv%2BMiami%2BDolphins%2B-nFaT40ZHDHl.jpg (I looked all over for the article where Stevie even talks about how much they helped him, but I could not find it anywhere.)
  12. All it takes for some of these guys is a change of scenery...look what Buffalo was able to do for Jerry Hughes, once he got an opportunity. Not to mention, working with someone like Marrone, might be a good thing for him...he is at least worth bringing in for training camp. If he pans out, great, it'd be like an extra draft pick (to an extent, due to age)...and it would allow them to look elsewhere in the draft. If he fails, oh well...nothing lost...and now they know they might need to draft another guard. It sure cannot hurt to bring him in...same with Jonathan Martin. They were once (not long ago) good football players...surround them with people who WANT to help/see them to succeed.
  13. So fans want to trade Jerry Hughes, and Williamson thinks we will cut Manny Lawson? So...with the 9th selection in the 2014 NFL draft, the Buffalo Bills select...Khalil Mack, outside linebacker, The New York State State University of New York State at the University of Buffalo of New York State. (Did I get the name right...or at least come close?)
  14. Going off potential alone...YES, please!?! Not to mention, no need to change the playbook...EJ and LT are about the same player...BIG AND ATHLETIC, with ROCKET arms.
  15. I don't think they aired the FULL Tebow commercial during the game. VERY disappointed in the commercials this year...they were terrible. (As was the game. lol.) Tebow had the best commercial, by far, in my opinion.
  16. I sure hope he is ready for what he is about to experience...besides the bomb threats and all that, there is this... http://deadspin.com/staying-in-sochi-is-a-hilarious-adventure-1515722114/@barryap * $51 BILLION spent by Sochi...and they are not ready?!?
  17. I came across these and wanted to post/share them, as they are some high quality commercials...probably two of the best we'll see. This one, no matter what you think of him, is awesome...especially since he played along with it. http://ftw.usatoday....owl-commercial/ This one is a totally different kind of awesome...we might not see a better one on Sunday, in my honest opinion. http://ftw.usatoday....al-horse-puppy/ What do you think? (Everybody enjoy the big game on Sunday!)
  18. So, you wanted the Bills to take EJ Manuel in the 1st round last year...and you still want them to draft a QB? Makes sense. lol. (They need a few more pieces to get to a Super Bowl, other than a QB...surround EJ with weapons/o-line, stop the run...and they'll be fine.)
  19. Without a doubt in my mind...especially if they keep Weaver. Then it would be Schwartz, Johnson, Pagac, Weaver...instead of Pettine, Driesbach, O'Neil, Weaver. (I just wish our offense was on par with our defense.)
  20. The day he left New England I tweeted Thurman Thomas, "What about Pepper Johnson as a replacement for Mike Pettine?" Thurman replied, "What happened to Pep? He would be a great addition to this coaching staff, in any capacity." I wanted him as DC, but this is even better, in my opinion. I believe our defensive coaching staff is much stronger than it was (especially if Weaver stays), and I love that we actually have a real staff on that side of the ball. Guys who are known and have a pretty damn good track record. And if Schwartz warrants another HC gig, we now have a viable replacement on staff in Pepper. (Which might be why he agreed to come on board, knowing he might have a shot at a defensive coordinator position next year.) I am very happy with this...it shows they are not hoping/waiting to be good, they are being proactive and making moves to get better. KUDOS to the Bills front office...finally making some moves that make 100% sense. (On a side note, Pepper has been with Belicheat for 26 years...NOBODY would know his playbook and tendencies better than Pepper.) I actually think this is a very good possibility...he and Pepper are very close, and he is exactly what Buffalo needs at MLB with Kiko. (Not to mention, if he came here, people could pull out their #51 "Spikes" jerseys...because Hughes is #55, so Spikes would go back to #51.)
  21. Chris Borland, Max Bullough, Christian Jones, Shayne Skov, Yawin Smallwood...there are plenty of guys in the draft who wont need the #9 overall pick to get them. I would much rather use the 1st round pick to grab a playmaking TE or WR...this offense (and QB) needs some help. (Besides Borland, they all have good size too...at least 6-3, 240.)
  22. Wouldn't cost a lot to see what he has...if he doesn't fit, cut him. We've seen this team take much bigger/worse risks than this. (Not to mention, the fact Buffalo's locker room IS so strong would be good thing for him.) EDIT: and now that I see the suggestion of Incognito at OG, I'll say my comment is for either...one or the other.
  23. I don't know if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but I didn't see it... What are your thoughts on a former Schwartz disciple and Syracuse player (a damn good one), being our LB coach...or at least an assistant? http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-2/Former-All-Pro-LB-Bulluck-bullish-on-Schwartz/9afc1668-4d8f-4e77-836a-1f70d980ec3a (Or do these guys have to go through the offseason/training camp program, before they can become full-time coaches?)
  24. I would bet, looking at the "talent" Schwartz has had elsewhere...this is the best defense he has ever coached. (If he could do what he did with his defensive line, and no secondary...he will have just that much more to work with in Buffalo.) Not to mention, his defenses have always been good at stopping the run, as well as getting off the field on 3rd down.
